I see Yasmin as hispanic (my personal headcanon) but I think their decision to make their backrounds vague is pretty cute. I agree that hispanics/latina come in many shades. And race wise are often somewhat mixed and race isnt as black and white as people think.

no judgement and no hate ! yasmin is white washed in my opinion. you would think if bratz could only make 4 core dolls they would try to cover racial diversity fairly but clearly they're all whiter versions of the average phenotype of any race, even Chloe is whiter and blonder than the average white person, don't get me started on sasha being majority made with green eyes and straight hair.
@ 6:44 you show the tokyo world collector dolls where they had 3 opportunities to cover Asian skin tone diversity, so why where they all white skinned?
you say at the beginning its not that serious they're just dolls but i think it is; any one can google the importance of representation especially on developing kids. i think a more accurate statement would be its not meant to be personal its just business for mga.

Thanks for the comment and I’m glad i got to see your thoughts and opinion on this! ❤️ I know there are a lot of people who feel they don’t have representation when it comes to the Bratz franchise and in 2024 i do believe Bratz is trying to make up for this, 🙏 This video was just me speaking on my thoughts, feelings and opinions about Yasmin dolls and how i also don’t feel represented when it comes to Yasmin dolls who is considered Hispanic in the Bratz Franchise 🥰 in 2024 MGA focuses on marketing and selling Bratz to adults not children which is why I personally feel it isn’t that serious because other dolls on the market today include way more diversity even though most children rather have iPads and skincare products instead of Bratz dolls 🤗

🎯it is business. I hear all the time dark skin dolls don't sell as well and that's why companies don't make them. While there's some merit to that I think with the pervasive anti-black beauty standards I'm not surprised that dolls with deeper complexions don't sell as well. I see little black girls with Elsa, Cinderella , JoJo backpacks, dressing up as Jasmine or Moana but they'll skip over Tiana our only princess with dark skin, a wide nose and big lips. Colorism is rampant in the Asian, black and Latin community so I can see why they feel slighted if Yasmin is looking like Taylor Swift ☠️

@@lauren6509 it has nothing to do with MGA when stores like Target, Walmart, toysrus decide which dolls they want to order for there store shelves, they disclude dolls with darker skin tones but that has nothing to do with Bratz and MGA. MGA created so many Yasmin dolls with a variety of different skin tones and eye colors so everyone would feel represented and included. Yasmin could be white, black, light skinned, mixed, Hispanic. Yasmin is a doll and whoever owns her or child is playing with this doll it’s there decision what they want Yasmin to be. Bratz also has Sasha and Felicia, Nevra, Sasha’s little sister Zama there’s a huge wide range of characters in the Bratz universe so that everyone can be included! 🥰 In 2010 after the court case with Mattel Bratz released 33 new characters for the 10th anniversary making the Bratz franchise even more diverse! 🌎✨ At the end of the day it’s the stores carrying these dolls’s final decision on who gets to be on the shelf not Issac Larrian or MGA! 🤗

Yes I love the idea of them not being linked to a certain country. My Felicia doll I always believed she was First Nation Australian because I grew up in Australia, but to others she's black American, Sudanese, or any other nationality that connects to who ever owns the doll. 🖤💛❤️

Black American girl here so I have no dog in the Yasmin fight. I will say that a lot of people confuse race, ethnicity and nationality which is so annoying. People also use Latinos and Hispanics interchangeably which is a problem within itself.
Cancel culture doesn't exist we talk shit for a few days and keep it moving. Now granted those Kylie dolls are still in target on clearance but best believe us haters got the dolls for her outfits and articulated body (her heads are in a bin somewhere) because shes a great match for forever diamondz Jade 🤭
Tokyo a go go won the fan vote so if they didn't want to be accused of appropriation why would they even have it as an option?!?!
I think because the rock angelz repros were so horrible (they're just now recovering from that flop) that they pushed the Tokyo line back and produced a cheaper line.
Creators make a big fuss about being cancelled to drum up faux support when in reality we really don't care. If Cloe having microbraids upsets some they wont buy it. If seeing Yasmin with pale skin upsets others rhey won't buy it. If people are bold enough to harrass others online about a doll block and delete.

100% agree on all of it. I also think ppl won’t believe that race, ethnicity, nationality can have the same name even if those r different concepts. Racial labels are arbitrary & dependent on region somebody is perceived.
I wish I had that bin of Kylie heads where I am. Black hair tanned girls don’t happen in Bratz. Also I’m international so she’s 3x the price. I’m not buying that 😬 Anybody ship a bin of doll heads without costing $120??
Honestly, creators should rarely ever care about online peeps overreacting. Unless it’s a huge campaign, h8 is usually benign. If u get a flame war going, @ least u get some sweet exposure & a good discourse going.

The eyes and hair color always changing was what made bratz fun, even sometimes the skintone changing for summer line was cute. Needing everyone to have strictly certain characteristics is just limiting and boring. Bratz are fashion dolls with no specific background, but still look racially diverse. I'm not a fan of having the girls be specific ethnic backgrounds because at the end of the day, there's no way MGA can equally represent everyone that way, they would need to have so many different dolls out which is impossible.

7:18 I agree. This is kinda like what happened with the Rainbow High character "Lila yamamoto" who has a japanese name and clothing inspired by chinese clothing. The RH community got angry and when MGA said Lila is mixed chinese and japanese people didn't like it. Why not let a character have a mix of cultures and be mixed? I feel like people are too close minded when it comes to this.

@@equinoxflowersofcenturysen5881 exactly the Bratz dolls don’t have set races they can represent anyone! Especially Yasmin she could be white, black, light skinned, mixed, middle eastern, Brazilian, Indian, Asian! These dolls can be anything they are dolls it’s up to anyone’s imagination 💭 I don’t understand why everyone gets so angry 🤭🤗

I don't think she's racist she's pointing out a flaw within the fandom. There are plenty of pale dolls with blonde hair so if brown Latin girliez and gaze want representation they deserve to voice their opinions without being hostile.
The true crime is giving Sasha blue or green eyes and straight hair for 99% of her releases 😤
