Sedum is super common in landscaping. So I'm shocked to find that there's next to no videos educating people about them!! You're the only one i could find so far that actually teaches. Thankyou so much!
Excellent information and video quality. Definitely a black thumb here, and there is a sedum that borders mine and the neighbors house that hasn't died yet, so I think I l will give some more a try.
Hi Noelle. For the past 3yrs I noticed my autumn Joys not coloring well. They have been turning pale & yellowing. I’m wondering if my soil is too rich since I have been organically improving my soil with mulch & leaf mulch?
Yes, that could be the culprit. They really prefer poorer, drier soil conditions. It would be good to take a soil pH test in that area too just to see if the pH is off. Neutral to slightly acidic would be best (6.5-7.0).
Sedum 'Ogon' would probably do very well in that aspect as long as it was kept on the drier side of watering. It's hardy in Zones 6-9, but may need to be divided and replanted every 2 years so it has some soil insulation during cold periods.
How do you grow sedum ground cover seeds ? I can’t find anything on this topic. Do you just throw them on the prepared soil or do they need to be put into ground like a tomato plant seed? Please help me.
Use small pots or flats and sterile starter mix. Pre-moisten the starter mix and sow 5 - 7 Sedum ground cover seeds per container. The Sedum seeds are exceptionally small, so only press the seed into the moistened soil, and do not cover the seed. Keep the seeds moist but not saturated until they germinate. Sedum groundcover varieties grow tight enough to keep broadleaf weeds from developing within them, but it is possible that grasses could grow up thru them. Grass B Gon can be applied if this should occur.

Would Sedum Ogon be happy in a north facing sunroom? I have a bust figure that I’d love to use Ogon for “hair”. Thank you! 7b
