“This can be quite the serious offence, Magos. It would be a shame for this to be exposed to the wider imperium” The inquisitor insinuated sweetly.
The Tech Magos turned and brought his unreadable blue gaze to the Inquisitorial party. Then a grinding static churning noise started to emit from the mechanic visage of the red cloaked figure. With a lurch of horror inquisitor amandine realised that he was laughing.
“Do not think yourself above the workings of the Omnissiah, Inquisitor. I have been serving the divine mission longer than you have been walking around in your prison of flesh and arrogance. Wave your Rosetta if you must, puff yourself up with false promises and half truths. I deal with cold reality. You have no power here. And believe me.” He snapped his fingers and a servo skull hovered over to him. “Others greater and more powerful than you have tried. Didn’t you, Lord Inquistor Janus?” He patted the skull and it flew off again.
He turned back to the party and ordered in a voice thick with the cold malice of the war machine. “GET OUT OF MY FORGE.”

Meanwhile, deep in the temple complex:
Edizakth, Lychguard of the Cathexan dynasty awoke from his 65 million year rest. His eyes were slowly glowing brighter and brighter as his surroundings became clearer and clearer. Like a newborn he was almost blinded by the sudden intrusion of reality into his mind but he didn’t gasp or hiss at the sudden brightness. He hadn’t been able to do this since his people shed flesh. As his eyes flashed into a brilliant emerald green he expected to be greeted by his comrade, Pitvak.
But something was in the way.
Instead he saw a small, pale, almost confused creature. It was hairless and Edizakth was able to detect several augmentations of varying quality and extent added to this thing. It was apparently organic in nature with a double circulatory system of some form and warm blood. If Edzikath had some way of making his disgust known he would have, but he knew better than to announce his presence to an objectionable, biotic and bipedal animal with unknown intentions.
Unfortunately this creature was more aware than Edizakth had realised.
It turned with its eyes widened in horror, but it was already too late. Edizakth’s blade tore through its neck with a single, swift strike. The flesh thing quivered for a moment, still attempting to process what had just occurred but its brain gave up as the head and body tumbled to the floor in an undignified heap.
Suddenly, Pitvak’s eyes sprung into activation as the Lychguard stumbled out of his stasis chamber, still groggy and disoriented, as one would be following a 65 million year slumber. And with a slight stutter his speech centres ignited as Pitvak said his first words since his awakening:
“Oh good, I thought he’d never leave”
Edizakth actively had to roll his eyes:
“You mean to tell me that you’ve been activated all this time!”
“Well, yes. What else did you think I was doing?”
“Sleeping, why else would that creature have gotten so close?”
“I wanted to see what it was doing.”
Edizakth allowed himself a groan: “Always the anthropologist.”
“And you’re still the brazen fool who is almost certainly going to be the death of me” came the mocking reply.
“So, what were you able to learn whilst I was being desecrated by that thing?” Edizakth said, gesturing disapprovingly at the puddle of blood that was mixing with whatever liquid the organic happened to by carrying in that strange pot it was carrying.
“Well, judging by the red robes and the logo on his back I would have to guess he was a part of a larger group. Also, judging by the fact that he was dashing you with:” he paused, taking an unnecessary sniff through his nonexistent nose. “Scented oils, he could've been a part of a religious order.”
Edizakth had to suppress an angered snarl, mumbling fanatics most likely, even in death he still found himself being affected by ignorant mystics.
“Well, no use standing about on parade. Let’s clear out these deluded beasts. Awaken the rest of the lychguard!”
Pitvak marched over to the console, his metal feet clanking as they sent him toward his destination. As he got closer and his motor servos fully connected to his processor his gait became wider and more confident, almost cocky and, just to fully return him to his old ways after all of this time Ptivak called out: “Alright, Alright keep your necrodermis on!”
    “I heard that!”
    “That’s why I said it!”
Pitvak stomped to a halt in front of the dimly glowing console as his fingers danced frantically upon its surface. As this happened the entirety of the tomb world’s Lychguard raised from their respective rests. Ready and willing to charge once more unto the breach of conquest and glory.
A great chorus of cries echoed throughout the complex as 4.3 million voices all shouted in unison: “ONWARD CATHEXAN”
On the other side of the complex Magos Julicath-927 heard the sound of thunder, but this far below ground that would’ve been impossible. This must’ve been something else. The magos’ photoreceptors narrowed their range, so deep was his concentration and thought. As the thunder got closer it sounded off, as though this wasn’t a large entity moving towards him. It sounded more like a million smaller entities creeping through the complex, apparently disregarding the oils he had placed.
The Inquisitor heard it too: “What is that noise?”
Julicath looked around as he considered his options, his mission was to gather whatever relics he could and leave, the Inquisitor wasn’t aware of this. The Magos needed to buy time. Ordinarily he would just turn the Inquisitor into a servitor and be done with it but this one had a retinue of 13 of the finest tempestus scions in this sector, ones that had experience in dealing with uncooperative space marines, a single Magos wouldn’t prove much challenge for them.
“It is simply thunder from distant weather systems.”
That response didn’t work as the Inquisitor whipped out his bolt pistol, pointing it directly at the back of the Magos’ head. He was about to pull the trigger as well but something stopped him, something was wrong.
    The thunder had stopped.
The inquisitor would’ve said something but his train of thought was interrupted by something falling to the ground. It was a great clatter of things all hitting the floor in front of him and the Magos. The inquisitor was at a loss for words when he saw them, his eyes bulging out of their sockets.
They were the heads of 13 of the finest tempestus scions in this sector, apparently meeting their match, and losing.
From the darkness came a phalanx of the finest warriors in the entirety of the Necron empire in a uniform formation of shields. The inquisitor didn’t even have the time to think to raise his bolter before the machines cut him down with ruthless efficiency, such was the shock that slammed into him like an Ogryn on Catachan combat drugs.
The Magos stared up at the group’s leader and drew himself up to his full height: “The omnissiah will strike you down for this! He who treats ill the disciples of the machine God will face his wrath!” He hollered, his vocoder crackling in righteous fury.
“I have personally seen to it that there are no Gods in this place to hear you squeak fleshing. But before I deal with you please do tell me,” came the cold and calculated response. “Does this Omnisiah of yours bleed?”
Judicath-927 rattled off a response, chuckling to himself at the naivety of the Xenos: “Never, and even if he could, you wouldn't be the ones to make it happen.”
Edizakth would’ve smiled at that if was still able.
“Then rest assured, I will correct that misconception.”
Before the Magos could respond there was a swift flash of hyperphase streaking across his visual feed, ending the Magos’ stake in that evening’s events.

Skitarii: "Magos we have a problem."
Magos: "What is so important that you must halt my discussion with this low inquisitor!"
The skitarii knelt down on his bionic knee.
"Forgive me high magos but one of the xenos devices has been damaged during shipment and is now affecting the skitarii that transported it."
The magos turned around as quickly as his cords and wires would let him. He opened his communications array and began to speak. "This is the high magos, destroy all skitarii apart of the shipping crew and seal off the shipment chamber!"
A crackling voice began to respond. " *crackle sir crackle understood sir but we *crackle crackle crackle* "What is it you worthless piece of flesh! Spit it out!" The vox communications cleared up "Sir we will follow your orders but a skitarii has escaped the shipment chamber!"
"What?" The high magos turned around to face the skitarii but it is quite difficult to do so when your head has just been released from your shoulders. The pieces of the magos' head fell to the floor and his body fell onto the xenos device within the room. The inquisitor was shocked and couldn't move. "If you value your life you shall retrieve his key and unlock the restraints upon this coffin. The Inquisitor fell to the floor and began searching for this key which this crazy skitarii wanted. He found the key and unlocked the restraints for this xenos coffin. "Please spare me!" The Inquisitor said shaking violently. The skitarii looked at this poor excuse for a human and humbled him. "Very well you shall serve as my personal assistant until I decide otherwise." The skitarii opened the coffin that stood before him, and from it this strange glow had erupted surrounding it while dust was released, causing the contents of the device to stay invisible. "My Inquisitor." Said the skitarii. "I have decided otherwise."
The Inquisitor couldn't even respond before being blasted by a molecular disintegration staff held in the hands of a rusty necron overlord. The skitarii bowed before the high necron. The necron let out a rustic soulless yawn and looked onto the skitarii. "A man playing as a machine being controlled by a true machine? How ironic. Where is the rest of my army?" The skitarii stood up and responded with a soulless voice. "They are in slumber waiting to be awakened. Many are still on the planet and we a far into space my lord." The necron looked down at the dead magos and in a flash the necron had disappeared and the magos stood again only now with green glowing eyes. "We must use the art of trickery for the time being. When we return to the planet....ready the armada on this ship. We must show them how true machines win battles. Hmm hahahahaha" the necron released a crackling laughter that would shake any soldier apart of the adeptus mechanicus.
