Think the reason why those suds showed up in the rinse is because the direct drives for whatever reason don’t do a spray rinse on the first spin which doesn’t help rinse away detergent and knock down suds. With my Whirlpool belt drive washer from 1963, the rinse water at times would be crystal clear at times. Crazy as this sounds, may only be the only one in my age demographic who has experience with the older belt drives as opposed to the direct drives.
The good old days of noisey washers and a barrel of sudsy water. How far we have come with HE washers, front loaders, and low-sud detergent! I can hardly believe I once owned a 1990's washer.
@Sharkie626 Yes it does, the temp settings are as follows; hot-cold, warm-warm, warm-cold, cold-cold. The other options on the Cleantouch console are: Cycle signal, on-off, Extra rinse on-off.
@dualactionsurgilator Oh yeah i am aware of the problem and what it needs just haven't fixed it.I do thank you for your help and everthing and if i need a pointer sure will ask you thanks. And yeah i enjoy the whirlpool but i love my wringers more.
Nice machine ours is just like that. But ours is a 1990 model what year is yours? The agitator has been broken for years on ours but I plan to fix it one of these days!!What i mean is the top half don't turn but the bottom works well!!
The problem with modern washers is that consumers think $500 for a machine is a lot of money. It is actually very little. Cheap machines give cheap results and they don't last long. If you want a high quality, realible laundry set then you have to pay a lot. Unfortunately some consumers are still using the 1980's (or earlier!) pricing when they look for a new washer.
@dualactionsurgilator Oh i'm not reversing them at all, what I am doing is, I am attaching them both to the cold water inlet and putting on their own independent valve at the water lines and just leaving the selector on cold. I actually did this before and it worked fine, however I had to later undo it because little did I realize, I literally attached the hot and cold lines together lol, so I need like a one-way valve added or something.
Yea we've come a long way. Now these new HE machines last five years at best. They don't wash as well as the old machines. We had front loading machines in the past by Westinghouse and Bendix. As for low sudsing detergent there was Dash. I'll take one of the old models any day.
@dualactionsurgilator Ya know, I can probably agree with that. My bro's place has a newer one that we got over the summer that only does cold rinse and still does great. Though, I plan to get around that by doing some fancy work with the hoses.
@Sharkie626 Be careful when you do this. The new machines have thermistors on the outlet side of the fill valves. Reversing the inlets could cause that to malfunction and the machine may not fill correctly or at all.
IMHO the old Frigidaire 1-18s were the best for getting clothes clean. The Whirlpool direct drives were a verrrrrry close second. The dual action agitator is what put Whirlpool right next to the 1-18s. I'm still running my Kitchenaid (Whirlpool made) direct drive at coming up on 22 years and counting...going to try to keep it running as long as possible due to the fact that anything made today is complete JUNK.
@somestuff2day The house the machine is in is just down the hill from a massive water tower. Although I did edit out parts of the wash fill I can say it does fill quickly.
Really? This is only THE MOST RELIABLE top load design EVER! Not to mention excellent cleaning. Apparently you don't know much about WP/KM DD machines. Your comment is not accurate.
The high efficiency crap made nowadays. When I get my own house, my washer is going to be a Whirlpool direct drive, Maytag Performa, or GE Filter Flo washer and dryer set.
this machine is kinda like my moms it was beautiful since my lil bro laundry was completely disgusting when he started puberty omg.. his laundry was straight up Gross that machine did miracles she had to wash his laundry 2
@arkansastrash320 What's happened to your machine is the agitator dogs have stripped out. I have a video of how this mechanism works posted. These dogs are a common part to wear out. I can instruct you on how to replace them if needed. This machine is a 1996-1998 model. Sharkie626 has a 1990 Whirlpool similar to yours. Hope this helps and you can enjoy your Whirlpool as much is I do.
look guy, i'm not trying to argue or turn this into a debate. I grew up with all the old names. Like Speed Quee, Frigidaire, Westinghouse, GE, Norge, Kelvinator, Maytag. All were built by the original companies. The machines they build today are nothing but over priced JUNK.
Yes. Looks like a good washing machine. The recommended wash temperature for towels is 40 degrees celsius. Take a look at this link to see an all new towel which is extremely wash resistant even at 60 degrees celsius. ua-cam.com/video/U0mhANhyvh0/v-deo.html
Yea the new HE machines are better alright. They last five years at best, cost a fortune, and don't wash as well. Sorry but i'm from the old school and i'll take one of the old machines over the crap they build now. The Whirlpools, like the one in this video where great machines. I have to laugh, every one wants to jump on the bandwagon for front loaders, when Westinghouse built them for years. As for low suds detergents, We had Dash. That was in the 1950's.
are crap. And in no way worth the price. My niece got a mid level Roper six years ago and it still runs like the day she bought it, and it does a great job cleaning. she payed somewhere between $500 -$600 for it. So I don't agree with your statement that cheap machines arn't reliable, give cheap results and don't last long.
You claim cheap machines give cheap results and don't last long. Well how about the HE machines that cost over $1,000, last five years and don't clean as well. That's money well spent? I don't think so. You pay a lot for these machines and you get JUNK!!! Just last year my sister sold he Maytag Fabric-Matic (newton drive transmission) for a Maytag Bravos. $1,200. It's been fixed twice already. Her Fabric matic cost $650 and lasted 26 years and it still ran the day she sold it. The new machines
You mean those fapping machines? Lol no. These are way better. Whirlpool/Kenmore/Roper DD top loaders were the best selling. Now all we have these days are all shitty HE Belt drive washers. The agitator is not even close to falling off...
tb717 That is not a crappy washer, It's one of the really good ones, The crappy washers are the front loaders and the top load washers without the agitators.
Whirlpool should have never stopped making this model. They were great machines.
Think the reason why those suds showed up in the rinse is because the direct drives for whatever reason don’t do a spray rinse on the first spin which doesn’t help rinse away detergent and knock down suds. With my Whirlpool belt drive washer from 1963, the rinse water at times would be crystal clear at times. have the same washer, and works good still being old. i like the direct drive washers over any washer.
@Sharkie626 Yes it does, the temp settings are as follows; hot-cold, warm-warm, warm-cold, cold-cold. The other options on the Cleantouch console are: Cycle signal, on-off, Extra rinse on-off.
@Sharkie626 No the Maytag set is in my home and the Whirlpool is at my girlfriends house.
@RobGwisdala Nice laundry pair, your washer is pretty much TOL. The dryer is in the upper end of the Kenmore lineup as well.
Can you please do another video of this washer.
@dualactionsurgilator Oh yeah i am aware of the problem and what it needs just haven't fixed it.I do thank you for your help and everthing and if i need a pointer sure will ask you thanks. And yeah i enjoy the whirlpool but i love my wringers more.
@dualactionsurgilator Nice! Ours (you probably saw already) actually has a Hot-Warm, we only use that for towels that are really dirty.
@dualactionsurgilator nice washer
@Sharkie626 Correct this is an Xtra roll agitator. It repaced the standard auger on the higher end models startring in the mid 90's.
Nice machine ours is just like that. But ours is a 1990 model what year is yours? The agitator has been broken for years on ours but I plan to fix it one of these days!!What i mean is the top half don't turn but the bottom works well!!

@bestcleaningwasher Thanks. I really enjoy the Whirlpool spin too, especially the spray rinses. My camera is a JVC Everio hd500 it records in 1080p.
@dualactionsurgilator Oh i'm not reversing them at all, what I am doing is, I am attaching them both to the cold water inlet and putting on their own independent valve at the water lines and just leaving the selector on cold. @Sharkie626 I think that will work however, be sure to cap off the hot water inlet to prevent any backflow from flooding the floor.
I love direct drives!
@Sharkie626 Yes It is a Maytag Performa model. Looks to be a Norge/Magic Chef design A very basic model but it works well.
Very observantYes it is quite good there is a very large water tower just up the hill from the house.
DAS.
Tide, that's the best detergent
great new video! it's too bad ya edited out the drain cycle, mainly because I love how the motor sounds during the drain. lol
Still have the whirlpool direct drive
Nice spins.
So, is the Atlantis better? Cleaning wise, and gentleness.
@NVHSChadSheppard1 I agree Tide is the best and nothing like a good Whirlpool to get the laundry done right
@dualactionsurgilator Ya know, I can probably agree with that. My bro's place has a newer one that we got over the summer that only does cold rinse and still does great. Though, I plan to get around that by doing some fancy work with the hoses.
@dualactionsurgilator I also remember you saying you also have that Maytag washer (in your vids) so, does this laundry room have 2 washers in it?
@dualactionsurgilator That long ago? wow I thought it was more recent, heh.
@Sharkie626 Be careful when you do this. The new machines have thermistors on the outlet side of the fill valves. Reversing the inlets could cause that to malfunction and the machine may not fill correctly or at all.
@dualactionsurgilator ahh okay, that's pretty cool. Curious, does this machine have a warm water rinse?
@Sharkie626 I know this machine was made between 96 and 98 so it had to exist then. Not sure of the exact year of introduction though.
Oh hey, I just noticed, it looks like you got one of the newer upper agitators? I happened to notice the "bumps" on the undersides of the spirals.
@somestuff2day The house the machine is in is just down the hill from a massive water tower. Although I did edit out parts of the wash fill I can say it does fill quickly.
@gy1952 It is betwen 1995 and 1998. I will check with Whirlpool to be sure.
Nice video. What is the rpm of the spin?
Ela lava bem a roupa ? Nossa parece q toda água q ela pega e drena é de sabão, qtas vezes ela lava a roupa ?
Oh wanted to ask, going by the noise your dryer makes, is it a Maytag?
Really? This is only THE MOST RELIABLE top load design EVER! Not to mention excellent cleaning. Apparently you don't know much about WP/KM DD machines. Your comment is not accurate.
Can you do a full cycle
@Sharkie626 I've found you really only need a warm rinse for greasy loads.
older washers actually work good
@arkansastrash320 Sounds good my friend.
DAMN! That washer sure is noisy. It also looks like the agitator is going to fall apart.
BRING BACK THE OLD GM FRIGIDAIRES!
@DeanJB74 This machine spins at 640 rpm.
Top loaders don't wreck your clothes, the 2011 Whirlpoop/Craptag washers wreck your clothes!
The high efficiency crap made nowadays. When I get my own house, my washer is going to be a Whirlpool direct drive, Maytag Performa, or GE Filter Flo washer and dryer set.
I'm sorry, but they don't!
I have a Whirlpool for about 16 years now and it never had broke any clothing evenly for delicate it was!
METRINI NARANJOIDE At least you do not have a high efficiency washer. You must know how to do laundry.
i need how do you start it
how many towels fit this machine ?
why is it all washing videos are extremely slow? What type of file is uploaded?
@dualactionsurgilator Oh! Okay, cool deal :)
how possible wash white with jeans??
Yeah, $650 26 YEARS AGO!!!
HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK THE EQUIVALENT AMOUNT IS NOW?!!!!!
this machine is kinda like my moms it was beautiful since my lil bro laundry was completely disgusting when he started puberty omg.. his laundry was straight up Gross that machine did miracles she had to wash his laundry 2

I don't like this kind of washer, a very good friend told me that they're excellent !
2nd rinse?
@vanni9283 You see it during the last bit of the video. Dropped some of it for time saving purposes.
@dualactionsurgilator okay .
thumbs up if amazing phil brought you here
Neil Frankman quoted
What year was that whirlpool washer from?
Mid to Late 1990s.
beautiful

@dualactionsurgilator Exactly what I did ;)
DARN! TOP LOADERS DON'T WRECK YOUR CLOTHES AT ALL IMOGEN TV11!!!

Long Live the direct drive none of this HE bullshit
Yea the new HE machines are better alright. They last five years at best, cost a fortune, and don't wash as well. Hey windows 95/98 I agree
this is just a joke of that guy, i think

Front loaders suck and so do HE washers
mine don't mine does magic
No Jair Akers!
You mean those fapping machines? Lol no. These are way better. Whirlpool/Kenmore/Roper DD top loaders were the best selling. Now all we have these days are all shitty HE Belt drive washers. The agitator is not even close to falling off...
I'm sorry I do not understand you. I only speak English.
Amana washers are Better
+Jesse Pankratz amana made by whirlpool and no longer made by speed queen
crapy machine..
tb717 That is not a crappy washer,
It's one of the really good ones,
The crappy washers are the front loaders and the top load washers without the agitators.
Top loaders wreck your clothes
Then you're using them wrong.
Sharkie626
That's right. If a washer is tearing up clothes, then the user is using it wrong.
*****
Agreed.
+Jerome Davis Agreed to that.
