I think Schlatt is one of the most convincing takes on this situation. Although many members of Lunch Club has given solid evidence on this, Schlatt perceived our view through the eyes of Carson’s friends. How they wanted and tried to help Carson. And when Carson showed signs that he wasn’t getting better, Schlatt like many others knew he had to cut ties with him. And if Schlatt and Jawsh and Conner and most likely other Lunch Club members really did so much to try and help Carson, Jawsh’s response of “I’m very disappointed” shows so much more. As viewers, we appreciate you Schlatt.

@@Jauhnnyy ehhh, i don’t think so. it was a very difficult situation. you never want to see a friend you’ve been so close to for so long end up as a criminal and you’ll try anything to help them before it ends up like that, and it’s not like they knew exactly what to do. this isn’t a situation you imagine happening often in your head.
Cancel culture shouldn't be a thing. Holding people accountable, teaching them, and moving on is the appropriate response to a normal human mistake. Unless this person has committed unspeakable crimes, let's not try to ruin their entire life.
A lot of people saying Carson's friends are "abandoning" him don't realize that stepping away from someone and holding them accountable is the most selfless act of friendship you can do. You should want Carson to be the greatest person he can be in the future, not for him to be comfortable right this moment where he's clearly at a low point

To hear how hard Schlatt tried to stick by Carson’s side to help him and better his life is so sad. He really tried to help a friend who he believed made mistakes that he regretted and was working to better himself, only to learn that this was far from the case and he had been almost backstabbed in a way. Despite the character that Schlatt puts on in his main videos and old streams, he seems like such a genuine person and I hope he is able to move forward from this. I hope that Carson’s victims are also able to heal from this and that it won’t further diminish their lives further down the line, this isn’t their fault. Despite the information that’s come to light being relatively new, it’s almost impossible that it’s false
It takes a strong man to put aside everything they believe to help someone on the brink of being lost to the world. Schlatt saw potential for redemption but it’s clear that in the long run it never happened.
