Oh I love this movie so much. But just to let you know, the ending live stream scene had some comments right? Those comments were complaining that they had not even started the stream, hinting that the views, the show and everything was the spirits manipulating the director to push him to go further. It was an amazingly haunting reveal
I had to go see, but since I don't read Korean, I tried Google Lens on it to translate it. Grain of salt, since it's Google Translate, but here's what it thinks they said: guest26: Are you kidding me? talk guest96: Aren't you going live today? guest77: interrupted broadcast guest96: (Google can't figure it out, lol) guest223: I knew it was gonna be like this since I started to like it
Translation from korean! 1) so are you doing on air or not? 2)the on air went out while faking it lmao 3)tf/oh god 4)I knew this would happen since they were laughing(enjoying?) while faking it
For anyone curious about what was going on with the holy water at the end: When you go into a haunted location, you're supposed to splash a bit of holy water on the back of your neck when you leave, and if you feel it start to burn it means some manner of malicious entity (be it of human or demonic origin) tried to attach itself to you and is being scorched off like a deer tick. The fact that the holy water in the last scene was straight-up BOILING tells us that pretty much every single spirit there is twisted beyond all salvation, and the entire cast just got added to their ranks.
31:47 this damn part made my skin crawl. I would’ve went for a screech or a distorted laugh. But no they needed to add a lightning fast, unintelligible, hushed, undiscovered ancient language, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A MOTHER******* SPIDER IS TRYING TO CRAWL INTO MY EAR CANAL!!! Thanks a lot Gonjiam
Damn, the spirits were fucking petty in this lmaoo. Possessing them & locking them away in the asylum was one thing, but ruining their online cred in the process? Pure evil.
I love this movie I feel like it’s not as well known so I was excited to see y’all reacted to it!!! Fun fact, the comments at the end and the low views indicated that the livestream never even started and it was all the spirits manipulating the group from the beginning. That reveal was the best part imo
Haha, bless you two for going through this movie for us! It really is a modern masterclass in creepy horror. And that WET WHISPERING sound is UNHOLY. 😂
I loved this movie so much cause it gave meaning to the phrase “don’t disrespect the spirits”. In this movie you had bloggers and streamers try to make a profit by pranking their friends in a cursed asylum not believing the place was actually haunted and ended up cursing themselves by doing so in order to make money off the viewership they were hoping to increase in the thousands. Only way they could get their viewers up was by staging things but they inadvertently disrespected the spirits by moving items around that were cursed and staging pranks on the others while also messing with the ritual meant to reach the other side for answers.
This is why I'm rarely scared of horror movies. I pretty much always end up recognizing at least one actor or actress, so suddenly it's not scary and I'm instead like yeah I loved them in that other thing 😂 If it's a bunch of unknown random people it's a lot more effective for me.
Thank you for putting yourself through this for our entertainment. I admit I like watching reactors who normally don't like horror because of their pure reaction to the scares are just so fun. The fear is temporary and rather safe, in that after being terrified by watching them, you'll still be back safe in the company of your loved ones and you can just laugh about it later. I also went in to watch this movie blind and was hesitant at first because I was told it was found footage and I'm not a fan because the few I've seen used shaky cam and it makes me dizzy and gives me a headache. In any case, this turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The shots were more stable than expected so I didn't feel dizzy and it had proper and quite original scares. Very glad to have found this channel.
Your reaction to this movie was brilliant, i hope you both weren't spooked for too long by this one! Looking forward to your halloween ends reaction should you decide to do one for us, or to just hearing your thoughts on it if you don't!
The streaming in the final part is really creepy when the viewer down to 500 views and it doesn't mean the viewer not interested or unbelieve but the scene show that the viewers from the begining are all the ghosts work also if you can read Korean some of them will say "I thought this is live video" which mean the ghosts set up all things from the start and the video didn't even streaming
I love found footage horrors but I went with your reaction thinking it's a bad movie (never heard of it) and yet it was amazing. The things like: the guy in the tent wasnt safe, that they may not even started the stream, or the fact that at one point it was the ghost who videotaped them?! Marvelous. Still think Grave Encounters is my fav but it got very close. I'm almost sad that I havent watched it fully for the first time before watching your reaction xD
Also I forgot to mention, I can't remember where I learned it from and pls correct me if I'm wrong but when Holy water pops like that its a sign evil spirits r close. So I guess it was more like confirmation for us the viewers that it was real.
Someone on twitter shared a gif of the whispering girl and it looked so freaky I had to ask what it was from. I had legit night terrors from The Grudge back in high school and the "long black hair asian ghost girl" types freak me out. This movie fucked👏my👏shit👏UP!!! But every now & then you need something like this that truly terrifies you to keep you humble as a horror fan I think. So happy y'all watched it ❤
I just watched this movie for the first time and now I'm looking at all the reactions I can find, lol. That "muttering" scare, as I call it, legitimately gave me the kind of full-body head to toe shivers that I've probably only ever experienced maybe three or four other times in my memory. I was expecting SOMETHING to happen, but I was not expecting THAT. Good god did that give me deep chills. One of the most effectively creepy movies I've ever seen.
I just finsished this movie for the first time and had to see if anyone had reacted to it. Paranormal movies never get me but this one got under my skin somehow...
Super enjoyed this reaction you guys!!! I was yelling and covering my eyes alongside y'all haha this movie's HORRIFYING omg!!! Loving the channel too I keep putting on the Deborah Logan video in the background as I work. It's strangely comforting haha! Thank you for your work!
love this movie! im obsessed with found footage, I feel like I've seen all of them - even the bad ones on tubi lmao - but this one is one of the best when it comes to haunted places, also, that silent hill looking creature (weird nude dude) and the closeups scared the helllll out of me, few horror movies have had me on the edge of my seat! its so underrated. I highly highly reccomend Grave Encounters! Its similar in the sense that a ghost hunting group filming for a TV show visit and asylum and it gets INTENSE (its also funny imo) Some other favs: hell house llc (2015), creep (2015), as above so below (2014), the visit (2015), the taking of deborah logan (2014), host (2020)
I watched the movie just to watch your reaction. THIS... this right here was a good watch. And your edits were really good. The movie and the reaction get 5/5 Codys 🎃
I remember screaming and sobbing in the theatre the second the close up of the girl with black eyes popped up. Still scary to me watching you guys' reaction
This movie is so fucking scary, haha! Your reactions were so fun to watch. I find Incantation to be scarier, but they are both definitely in the top tier of scariest movies ever for me. I love Asian horror because it always seems to be so well done, and their norms/tropes are often different from the ones we're used to in western cinema, which can help them to be scarier or more surprising. Another couple of Asian horror films you might like are The Medium (Thailand; nowhere near as scary as this) and The Divine Fury (South Korea; not overly scary but a very well-written story).
Great reaction! I would recommend a lesser known movie from Thailand named "Shutter (2004)". It's very unique in it's story and will definitely grab you more than the typical horror film. There's also an English remake, but I feel the original is way more emotional.
I'm glad you watched this. You should totally get into Asian Horror films. They're so good and have the best plot twists. I'm a huge fan of the genre and it doesn't get enough appreciation due to many remakes.
I remember that it took me more than 3x tries before i I could actually finish the whole movie cuz the whole scene of charlotte going back to the tent scared me so bad xD.
I've got a reccomendation for y'all... an animated fan-made horror movie called Emesis Blue. If either of you have ever played Team Fortress 2, you'll really like it. The film's harder to follow if you don't already know some stuff about the TF2 universe, but even with that, it can be pretty confusing (pretty much my only complaint). It basically centers around the respawn machine from the game (which you spawn in after dying) having something wrong with it that's affecting the characters mentally and physically. It's similar to Jacob's Ladder plot-wise and takes HEAVY inspiration from The Shining. As a side note, the cinematography and lighting are INCREDIBLE. It's free on UA-cam, so you don't lose anything trying it out.
I wanna meet the one character who keeps cracking jokes no matter how scary it is. Also thank you for the commentary. It's not a movie i would ever watch alone.
I came to this reaction before I even finished the movie to make sure that the delayed footage was actually a part of the movie and not just my TV acting up 😅 Glad to know the Horror Bandwagon has my back ✌️
For as scary as this movie is, it probably has one of the best comedy beats in any movie I’ve ever seen. when the film crew do their fake gag then all the guests leave running and it cuts to each of them doing a funny face laughing about it😂. I was howling at that scene, the actors are so good.
IDC people said gonjiam not scary movie, but for me this movie is success make me shit my pants. not because of the ghost but the vibe and chills I've got from that show is terrifying
I had a repetitive nightmare about getting drugged away by my feet by something invisible into the darkness, that specific scenario terrifies the s*** out of me
I watched this movie for the first time a couple nights back. Watching this reaction before the movie itself did not help prepare me at all for just how much this movie freaked me out. That being said, I really love this movie and definitely rank it in my top 5
I love the idea that you guys are watching a korean movie and in korean! I've seen way too many reaction channels putting on dub and idl why I just hate it soooo much

I had to go see, but since I don't read Korean, I tried Google Lens on it to translate it.
Grain of salt, since it's Google Translate, but here's what it thinks they said:
guest26: Are you kidding me? talk
guest96: Aren't you going live today?
guest77: interrupted broadcast
guest96: (Google can't figure it out, lol)
guest223: I knew it was gonna be like this since I started to like it
dam, i didnt pick that up on my first watch. i was just abit confused why the views were so low haha
I DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED THERE HOLY SHIT
Translation from korean!
1) so are you doing on air or not?
2)the on air went out while faking it lmao
3)tf/oh god
4)I knew this would happen since they were laughing(enjoying?) while faking it

Not looking at the screen wasn't even enough, I wished I covered my ears, the whispering was VILE.

Hajun, the main character of Gonjiam, is Hwang Junho, the police officer of Squid Game 🤣🤣
I thought he looked familiar. He’s so handsome.
