Wow!!!DMACK is the man! Your knowledge and insights are very impressive and in short supply, Just passed up most OU Youtbers with this podcast!!!!Boomer
FINALLY!!!! I found someone who kept it real about the receiver room and who should be on the field. Dmack broke it down beautifully about the crazy talent in the room and not being able to see where Farooq fits. He can't see the field over Anderson, Burks, Anthony, and shouldn't get on before or more than Gibson (although he did last season bc of Lebby). Farooq is a solid player and really good in space, but Gibson is a game changer and will only get better with more opportunities. All the other names mentioned go w/o saying and don't need an explanation. I can see him splitting time with Thompson in a backup role to Burks in the slot, but there is absolutely no way he should see the field over the previous 4 mentioned! I've been saying this for the longest.
Hope Farooq gets to redeem. He has given a lot to this program and it would be great to see him rewarded for his work. Can't wait to see this room cook. If Bauer Sharpe is half of what we hear then defending this group will be a nightmare. I heard Raggins is even faster than Brennan. You don't have to worry about him getting hit at 145lbs on a go or flag route. We may far exceed expectations and put a real beatdown on some folks. 43:17 Excellent podcast. I played wide receiver at Union and it’s so great to hear you guys go deeper into the strategy of the game. Love this stuff. Great job fellas.
So I start listening, get up to get a drink ...and wait, did Dmack just say what I think he said? Have to replay so I didn't miss a word.😂 Great job, very enjoyable thanks!
Re: offensive scheme. I’ll give it up to TBOW as he was great at scheming to make it easy on a QB. Dudes would be running WIDE open. I just didn’t see much of that in Lebby’s offense. Everything seemed harder in his scheme. I hope Luttrell makes adjustments and puts the players in more of a position to win. I think he will. Also, changing up the run game scheme. We could never get it going with Lebby’s run scheme. Here’s to a dominant run and passing game!!! 🎉
Yeah I don’t know why we stopped the GT counter. Why would you not run what has been your bread and butter? Bigger question is why not go back to it sooner once your other stuff wasn’t working?
He shouldn't start to begin the season. If he starts at any point this season, it'll solely be bc of seniority/favoritism. There's no way he's better than Anderson, Anthony (of course assuming fully healthy), Burks or Gibson. How can he start ahead of any of these guys? I know u agree with me, but the coaching staff have to see this, you'd think...
I hear what you're saying and I wish him well and hope he balls out. That said, you have to put your best players on the field to get the majority of the snaps. There are 4 receivers that are w/o question better than Farooq on this team.
Hello everyone. New sub I don't comment much, but I have to say I'm nervous about my Sooners first year in SEC. But I'm optimistic that they will do better than expected. After all we are talking Athletic Exellence a lot of hard work and a little bit o magic.... Sooner Magic. BOOMER !!!!
What's expected by national media and what is expected by the team and Sooner fans are two totally different things. These guys have big goals and the national critics are about to be made to look ignorant. BOOMER
@Lmmfaoatdemocrats I hope you're right, my friend. But haven't they always bashed and been negative towards OU ? Listening to them, you'd think we are third-rate and struggle EVERY season. SOONER !!!
Having a QB who can throw a deep ball is enough alone to unlock the potential of this very talented WR room and take the offense to the next level. No more WRs cutting routes short and allowing the DBs they toasted to catch back up to the play because the QB has a weak arm!
We've got all these weapons and we still have 'experts' predicting 6-6 for OU this season. Something has to give eventually, and these experts are setting our competition up for a rude awakening when the toe finally meets the leather.
Why can't the OC jus copy and paste Rileys run plays or hell if it was me I'd use his whole playbook. Move Farooq to RB. I can't believe this staff hasn't done it yet...we need a Natty asap
Just curious what can a defense do against a 5 wide receiver set with these 5 guys. Burkes, Thompson, Anthony, Gibson, and Anderson or even change any of them with Farooq
You missing that BIG trap game in between. auburn just quietly waiting in the wings. The one right after your FIRST SEC game ever. The ONE right BEFORE your biggest rival.
The most overrated WR unit in cfb. None of these guys have over a 1000yds. They look very average against any decent defense they play. Plus Arnold won’t have enough time to get the ball to them behind that O-Line.
Interesting....we had little to NO run game against UT, yet OU scored over 30 points with the game winner being a TD catch to a RECEIVER! 😅 You 🤡 never cease to amaze me 😂😅
@@OUrNit03 that was Anderson’s only catch all game. Farrooq had a big game but everyone else was not great. Drake Stoops had 55 yds. Texas had two 100 yd receivers in that game.

Great podcast! I was telling someone the other day that Farooq may not be starting by mid season. They didn’t believe me but we’ll see.

Haha, Burks said “hold my beer” more than once this off season 😂
We need to support Farouq - ur right, he stayed at OU when he could have gone to USC.

Do we use Farooq like a Deebo Samuels RB/ WR hybrid?
Not if he can’t hold onto the ball

Can't trust him bc of the ball security issues. Otherwise, that would truly fit his skill set.
Even SEC mike said OU might have the best WR room in the SEC!!!
Ohio State and Oregon are the two places we'd probably take a back seat to Nationally

Talk about a drop 8 into coverage and pray
Also heard several people say that we should have played either Gibson or Anderson as tight end

Best WR Room in SEC? I see Potential. Let's see how they play against the Vols and Horns.
