I may not be a Shinobue focused girlie but rn I have a Dizi from China, a Sáo trúc from Vietnam, a flute from my country, and a Sogeum from South Korea. I'm still waiting for a chance to buy a Shinobue and I want an Irish flute and a Bansuri from India. I feel like woodwinds just have that, hypnotic effect of wanting to own them all. Strangely enough, I don't want a metal flute. I think I draw the line at more than eight holes haha.
Hello! Thank you very much for your comment! I got them directly from my teacher, Bunta Satoh sensei. He does have a website where he sells Shoji but I am not sure if his website is English-friendly... Sorry! satobunta.theshop.jp/categories/536877
Hello 先生, thank you for this video ... I am still waiting for my first shinobue 6 (rippei) from Japan. I will order also the suzuki one , 8 by curiosity .. And I am already thinking of the next shinobue whereas I have not even tried it yet ahah ... I have been searching Shoji brand you mentionned but I don't find it :( ( when I search it on google , I get your videos are first results ahah ) Do you know Kazuya Sato ? I saw a video, O wonder about the shinobue he uses ( not just the brand, i am sure the flute costs thousands dollars but the size , I like the range of the treble and the bass, I wonder if it's a "3" ) I can't copy paste the link to show you because youtube doesn't like me lol ... ( it's called "Amazing Japanese Shinobue flute Performance by Shinobue Sato(佐藤和哉): MAIHIME(舞姫) ) .. ありがとうございます
Hello! I get my shoji shinobues from my teacher, Bunta Satoh sensei. I also got some when I visited Mr. Shoji this past summer. He does not have any website so it's really hard to purchase. I am working on making Shoji brand more accessible to everyone. I do not know Mr. Kazuya Sato personally, but Maihime is one of my favorite shinobue music and it is played with 6 hon choshi. 😃😃😃😃😃😃
@@MikiShinobue Ohh 分かりました ! Oops Yes you even said it in the video T_T ... I think I was searching it as you were talking ahah, ごめんなさい ! thank you for the infos. Do you know Ron Korb and his album "Japanese Mysteries" ... I love the one called "Etenraku'", famous traditional music ( gagaku) . I believe it was played with Ryuteki flute tho. There is also a music made by Toshio Masuda for the anime "Mushishi", I love the flute in the track "Kaze no Tamakura" , I want to play it !

@@MikiShinobue Hello sensei ^^ About Kazuya Sato, I asked a famous seller, Mejiro. He asked directly Kazuya Sato about what flute he used. It's a ranjo sotomaki 6 hon choshi ! I expected it to cost thousand euros, but it costs "only" 500 euros ...
A very educational video for me, thank you! I have only ever played western flutes, so I'm doing a lot of research right now about other styles.
I'm so glad this was informative! I hope you can get into shinobue. It's a fascinating instrument!
ありがとうございました。
いろんな種類の篠笛を使ってらっしゃるのですね。
英語はあまり得意ではないので、日本語の自動翻訳を通して
ですが概ね理解出来たと思います。

Geting a Shoji flute sounds as hard as it is to get a Hatori Hanzo sword in the Tarantino movie Kill Bill. 😊
This was filmed almost a year ago... I actually had the chance to meet Mr. Shoji this past summer!! I will release the video soon 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
@@MikiShinobue That’s sounds exiting meeting the mysterious man. Looking forward to that video. 👍
