@Willzxq its funny how when people actually care about a game they make and take time to make it a good game it turns out to be amazing even with poorer graphics... not up-to-date uniforms and rosters. These games still keep a good amount of players to this day.
It has the overall reputation of the team like a team that has been below .500 wins will not have a packed stadium, but it won't change as the game goes by, like if that team is down 40 there will be the same amount in the 4th then at the beginning of the game.2013 had both coinciding with one another. @ChristianRussell_04
If you ever play 13 again, here’s a tip for finding gem recruits: For quarterbacks, and a lot of other positions, if you filter for recruits who are in the “top 8” schools stage, press more info and look at their top schools. If the top school’s interest bar is green at the very beginning of the season, before anybody has even had the chance to recruit them, it means they are AT LEAST better than what their unscouted rating says they are, and more often than not they are gems. This does not apply to Junior College recruits, because since their overalls are naturally higher because they are older, it doesnt tell you anything if the interest bar is green.
I miss this recruiting system, seeing my schools stats increase year by year (other than overall rating) was a lot of fun for me. It was like a game within the game.
I loved the recruiting in NCAA 13. There were things you could do to sway players to or from your school much more than point dumping to get a guy like in 14.
That senior linebacker you mentioned at 2:24 was David Hinds - He went underafted and went to the CFL and played for the Ottawa Redblacks from 2014-2016.
The recruiting in 13 was sooo good once you got the hang of it. Lots of different strategies can be employed and it’s so rewarding to nail that gem recruit that you’ve been working on since the preseason.
I’ve gotten the 4 peat but never the 5 peat. It took awhile and recruiting I never got it, till I actually started investing in it then once I got a couple 4 star and 5 star player. For me tho, I was way more Defense Minded, I would recruit Defense even if all teams needs more met. I would try to break records on Defense.
The way I rebuild in NCAA. Set the first game in my schedule to Alabama, Beat them, than go undefeated and win the national championship. That helps a lot with recruiting lmao
Those goals they give you arent for any one season. Theyre for the duration of the contract. UMASS doesnt expect you to take a 1-11 team to 8-4 in one season
NCAA 13 had significantly better scouting, and significantly better ratings progression (no awareness boosts as seen in 14), but the recruiting is just so time consuming. Its the nail in the coffin.
I have ncaa 13 (i couldn’t afford ncaa 14) but im kinda glad i got ncaa 13 for instance i like the style more recruiting is more fun to do and its just a masterpiece, anyways i was addicted to this game until my ps3 randomly shut off while playing i tried to fix it by taking the whole thing apart and cleaning the dust out but sadly after i did that it started happening again and after 20 years the ps3 is over with.
That linebacker was David Hinds. He had a bad senior year and never made the NFL. However, there were NFL players on this lowest-rated roster. Randell Johnson, #15, was a junior during this season and eventually got drafted in the seventh round. Keith Reaser was a junior defensive back who eventually got drafted in the fifth round. There may have been more but that is all I can find.
I play it about as often as ncaa 14 because of the scouting and recruiting as well as the fact that the awareness for your players doesnt get unfairly boosted the way that it does in ncaa 14. Umass is a fun rebuild, fau is fun, any wac team is fun…i might have to do unlv now that you mention it. Get a good, big scrambler qb and recreate the Cunningham days.
To make a bowl game you have to win at least 5 games against fbs opponents. So if you beat four fcs schools and win 6 games, you pretty much only won 2
The recruiting on NCAA 13 is way more fun actually, I remember many times getting a star player like Kirk Newby would played for MTSU for me as a HB and he was a beast and also Luis Green for Penn State, a 6'2 265lbs Defensive player but I put him at Fullback and he just ran over players like a steamroller.
NCAA 13 has been a struggle for me. I haven't installed 14Revamped and still play 13 on my Xbox 360. Recruiting is awesome at a glance, immersive and deep looking, but is tedious busy work when you're simming seasons and recruiting only. The good part is it's broken AF, and I have a coach who has taken, in order; FAU, East Carolina, and Kansas to 99 overall franchises in 6 years each. Too bad the sims ruin the dynasty within 10 years.
I like the fact that recruiting is effected by your schools reputation. In 14 its just a numbers game with putting points into the guys you like. In 13 its possible to be playing an ivy league school and find a really good recruit who you normally would have no shot at but because that recruit values a good education you suddenly have a chance against bigger teams that have less prestigious academics. Recruiting for Harvard is a totally different experience than recruiting for Bama. It takes more time but is more in depth. edit: Though to be fair if you want to focus more on the games and not be as bogged down in recruited i also completely understand why people might prefer the system in 14.
14’s recruiting sucks which is why I solely play 13. My strategy is to first find out what each recruit is interested in, then if my grade is higher than the schools I’m competing with, then I compare them to get more points in my favor. I then make good promises that I know I can fulfill like playing in their home state or beating rivals. Then once I am their 1st choice then I offer a scholarship and go from there.
Loved how these games weren’t about what plays you called, it was about the player themselves. If you wanted to win you can’t call the same plays over again and you have to switch it up all game. Much more realistic and I hate that Madden is more about plays in order to be a better player.
Man, I LOVED the recruiting in this game. I understand it was time consuming for some and a little repetitive but I feel like they should've had an option for 14 which recruiting system to use. Just felt a little more personal.
At least FAU has won two conference titles since moving up to FBS(1 Sun Belt 1 C-USA), has produced a john mackey award winner, and a 2,000 yard rusher. UMASS gave us Victor Cruz...that's about it.
Recruiting takes forever in ncaa 13, but I still enjoy playing it. I go back and forth between multiple dynasty’s I have but always go back to my Washington state team. Currently on my 10th season with them with only 2 losses. I play on heisman with 40/60 sliders
I've been on ncaa 12 for years because of the price of the other games and it always amazes me just how much they change recruiting and team overalls from game to game
This is actually the ncaa that I own as didn’t want to get 14 and now it’s to experience to get so I play 13 and I enjoy it but yea recruiting is difficult
the best part of ncaa 13 is that if your blowout a team by the 4th quarter no one is there.... dynamic stadium attendance
@Willzxq its funny how when people actually care about a game they make and take time to make it a good game it turns out to be amazing even with poorer graphics... not up-to-date uniforms and rosters. These games still keep a good amount of players to this day.

1000%. It sucks because NCAA 14 systems had so much potential if they would’ve been able to continue that system.
yeah its lazy for sure
In 14 it's so much quicker tho.
@@studiedturtle4152 Thats good, but it's better when you can do more to get nore recruits
We need more ncaa 13 rebuilds.. its more challenging to rebuild a team on this game.
To an extent but if you pick a Big 10, or Pac 12 team it's pretty easy.

As a recruiting die hard, 13 clears 14. I wish 14 had a recruiting “hard mode” that was 13

NCAA 10 dynasty is real fun it's similar to the cfb 25 the new one 😂

They won the natty in 2017 smh
More like making sure they succeed in the Big 12
YES
UCF is good already you suck
Or West Virginia

IMO 2013 is better for the recruiting. I get why they changed it to make it easier for people but 2013s recruiting was a whole game in itself.
Love ncaa13 still have a copy and a 360 just for that game and the umass rebuild is fun. I’m using unlv right now. Great stuff man

The recruiting was a major complaint about 13. That’s why they made 14 so much easier. I personally prefer 06.
Ncaa 13 was my best one as a kid the gameplay was better then 14 and the recruiting
the Troy and FAU Rivlary is due to the fact they joined the Sun Belt at the same time iirc; outside of that... yeah the rivalry makes little sense
Dude ncaa football 12 recruiting is so fun u actually do phone calls and speak to the players
I love the fact they have the live scoreboard for the other games going on it’s the little things like that, that make these games iconic
NCCA 13 is my favorite and my opinion the best NCCA game
