My parents are from the caribbean (Grenada/Cariacou & Sint Maarten) and that never crossed my mind until my mom, my sister and I went to a restaurant in Sint Maarten and my mom ordered a whole fish and she started eating the head of the fish. Thank you for these shows. I'm in a place in my life where things feel really dark but being able to watch the Versus episodes they help me to have relief on what I'm experiencing.

As a person who lived on an island for my entire childhood, 19 years, with (if I do say so myself) extensive knowledge of sea food, I never really liked restaurants like Red Lobster or Bahama breeze. I tend to feel cheated by Mainstream seafood restaurants, having had the real thing practically on a daily growing up, so I'm not surprised that Red lobster isn't using actual lobster in certain dishes. You have to go to the little local joints for authenticity, however Bonefish Grill is pretty good. 2, The whole crab is delicious ,the WHOLE thing , legs, head, everything, though the claws and the legs are my fave. 3. If you order a whole fish, you're probably gonna get a whole fish 😂 for me, I usually go for the tail because I don't like fish eye (too slimy)
