Could you perhaps take a look at the Long Night of Solace script and see why the script is now broken in MCC from a very recent update? The mission is missing seraph fighters along with respawning dropship squads and anti air gunfire during the facility.
@@JohnnyDoh I'm 100% sure it was an accident, and its only respawning enemies, not single use enemies, such as the seraph and dropship vehicles, and without someone pointing it out developers or other people might not even notice, but its not just reach, anniversary has a very bad memory leak for AMD gpus, and swapped cutscene props, such as pelicans missing/stuck in walls, along with other reach problems too.
@@Spendingryan I just think it's funny how none of you acknowledge the likely possibility that those problems were intentionally left in the game in order to discourage you from playing anything that Bungie had made in the halo series. Take Halo CE for example, on the original Xbox the scorpion fires accurately. While on the MCC on Xbox One, it is practically useless. They intentionally made the games Bungie had a hand in worse, to discourage players from playing those games and trying to encourage people to play 343's version. Which is complete garbage, they completely butchered the story of Halo.
You can delete it by reloading boneyard from outside of the map from the end of the mission. It biped is connected to the Pillar of Autumn model. If you reload the Pillar of Autumn from Boneyard, it’ll delod tge Poa model and the black spartan. The black spartan is only there when the Pillar of Autumn model is there.
Software developer here. I think the destroy script is a red herring. Looking at other nearby scripts it looks like they come in pairs to create and destroy. I suspect either Bungie used a tool to generate the create/destroy scripts in pairs, or simply generated them by hand as just their standard practice of making those scripts. They could then customize the scripts as needed... in most of the create scripts you can see they issue additional commands after the create commands. If they didn't actually need the destroy script, they just wouldn't use it, but it was there if they did need it. My guess is this is part of their system of creating and destroying objects to best utilize system assets (memory etc). When the player advances past a point of no return in a level the game can remove all objects that can no longer be seen by the player, since they can't go back. Destroy scripts are probably used for this purpose. Meanwhile, the create script is used when the player approaches an area, to spawn everything in. Since the Pillar of Autumn is the last location in the level, there is never a need to use that particular destroy script (alternatively, there was never enough of a resource crunch where they had to invoke the script to cleanup old objects before you go to use the mac gun). This is all speculation on my part, I would suggest you go check how destroy scripts in general tend to be used by the game to get a sense of why this particular one was not. Now, all of this doesn't matter since it doesn't answer the question in the first place: why is the spartan model there? I suspect it was done either for scaling purposes, or as a placeholder for the cryo chamber easter egg which was later implemented in a different way, thus making the spartan model not needed. Remember Master Chief was the star of all the Halo games up to this point, so it makes sense for him to continue to be used as a comparison to the environment to gauge size. In fact it is likely the Master Chief player character was used while the game was in development until they created all the assets for Noble Six. I think the fact that the John 117 spartan variant is different from how we would expect him to be as evidence they probably modified the variant as part of an initial concept for Noble Six... maybe. So why is the model still being spawned in? It was probably left in by accident. Maybe the level designer has to place assets into folders and so, it was spawned purely by accident along with everything else because they forgot to remove it (I am not sure if it actually works like this or not). Or maybe the level designer simply placed it in the folder by accident, instead of in a different location meant for objects not intended to be visible in game.
We know the old Master Chief model was used for multiple things during development: there's a "statue" of the Halo 3 Master Chief MkVI armor elsewhere in this level. General Kidd has made a few videos on the subject over the years.
Its 100% a placeholder or more likely a way devs judged scale when creating the pillar of autumn iirc this isnt the only instance of a player model / master chief model being used for that purpose. The reason why the clean up script probably isnt called is because its the final section of the level so theres no point in running a cleanup if its gonna be removed to load in lone wolf anyways
There are new bugs in MCC, one of which is the Frigate cannon tracer, there is a space version and in-atmosphere version, the space version is working correctly, but the in-atmosphere tracer version is broken and cycles between different tracers, the differences between both is space glows tan, whereas the in-atmosphere should glow between white hot and tan, but is either invisible or random.
@jamesfra131 Are you on about the phantom chin gun, it's missing part of the detonation sounds, and i know the plasma pistol is missing its pre-just about to overheat additional click like sound effect too before it actually overheats, it works on PC though but not on my xbox.
Halo 2, Cairo's bomb room cutscene bipeds might be worth looking into. Just as the white intro screen fades out, you can see Cortana's biped placed precariously against MC's biped. Do they get moved from this position or just turned invisible? Similar on QZ cutscene, Keyes' biped is floating mid air with Graveminds tentacle.
@@Spendingryan I wouldn't know about any updates, as I only play the OG (H2) game on the older consoles. We only get a brief glimpse of the bipeds.
