Go ahead, make fun of me if you must but I consider myself a psychic. I kept getting a strong message throughout this video that Ms. Gentry had an illness that she did not want to disclose, I feel it was something gastrointestinal. She was a stunning woman. I still listen to the song Ode every once in a while, her voice is beautiful and unique. I hope she had/has a beautiful life.
Bobbie Jo Gentry and I have one item in common. She wants to be left alone and not bothered. I don't want to bother her, nor do I have the time and desire to look for her. 'Sides, I still working on who was Jack the Ripper, where's Jimmy Hoffa, what happened to and where is J.B. Cooper and the hijacked money and if I've enough time, solve the Judge Crater mystery. I've already solved the JFK assassination to my satisfaction. So au revoir Bobbie Jo Gentry. 😊
Bobbie Gentry was certainly an odd duck. She was recently behind the re-issue of her expanded album "Delta Sweete". A multi-CD compilation of her recordings was released in the U.K. a couple of years ago. She seems to be catering to her fans in the E.U. rather than her U.S. fans. The "Delta Sweete" album included an mp3 download version but it was pulled from the LP's sent to North America. Besides the rerecorded version of, and it's "Ode To Billie Joe" , for the Max "Jethro" Baer, Jr. directed Warner Bros. movie, her last real single was "Apartment 21", which barely scratched the surface of popularity. A good excuse for fading from the scene. I would say that she was a bit temperamental with walking away from one of the richest men in the world and walking away from one of the most talented musicians. With her re-issue of "Delta Sweete", if someone said something she didn't like, she flew off the handle. She is not one who plays well with others.
Bobbie Gentry may be still writing songs under a pin name or she may have made enough money to where she didn’t have to work anymore or she may have married somebody that had a bunch of money happy new year
I still have the Bobby Gentry vinyl LP that I got for Christmas when I was still in high school.
I always loved her hair!
Bobbie Gentry was a great singer She was the best
Why would I subscribe when you didn’t answer the question.
I'll tell you, Bobbie is married and lives a quiet life in Memphis.
After all that time, there was no mention of where she is now.
It's Nobody's business but her own. All's hope she's living her own life happily.
Yes, you are so right to observe this commission. A long introduction without a climax is very unsatisfactory!
One of the best
Two questions: 1) Why do you call her first hit, "Ode"? It was "Ode to Billie Joe". 2) What’s with the photos of Dolly Parton?
Answer: We don't know. There, saved you 12 minutes.
May she rest in peace 😔
She's alive. 80 years old now.

Nope, you're wrong
she is very very beautiful. Is very easy on the eyes.
It’s Ode to Billie Joe- not Ode as mentioned numerous times.

So au revoir Bobbie Jo Gentry. 😊
Why are they showing Dolly Parton and Adele?
Other parts aren't true either
Nobody knows where Bobbie Gentry is : Good for her.
Why are you showing a pic of Dolly Parton?

Married 3 times, never for more than one year.
@@hyzercreek Yup. Exactly. In terms of self-evaluation, it might make a person realize where the problem lays!
Some of the facts here don't jibe with other sources.
So she would be 80 !
What's with the pics of Dolly?
Thanks ! You didn’t answer anything ! You do like to hear yourself talk.
Answer the question
Bobbie Gentry may be still writing songs under a pin name or she may have made enough money to where she didn’t have to work anymore or she may have married somebody that had a bunch of money happy new year
She's never been married very long, I always heard she was not really into Men,
Her n Glenn Campbell were a couple and he is the father of her child .
What a train wreck his life became. Sad.
I thought she was married to Jim Stanford?
@@horsewomn - She was for one year then married bill Harrah then in 76 to Thomas r Toutant
That's not true.
Never knew that! I knew Glen's wife didn't like her but thought she was just suspicious and jealous of Bobby
I know.
Narrator is loud & grating
Horrible dramatic narration.
What a writers crap. Stop labels. She a strong woman. Push you aside. Great woman.
If she's happy with it I am.
