awesome video. I just remade my ranger helmet a few months ago and its still unpainted, glad i found your channel, good to see others still making stuff from New Vegas
I am almost finished with my ranger cosplay, your videos were a big help, seeing all of the parts was a bit daunting at first, but it came together so well, and all I am waiting for is the red lenses to put in the helmet, and then I am done! I am planning to wear it to a New Vegas themed Airsoft event happening near me. It was a very fun project to learn to use EVA foam, as it was my first. Thank you for the templates and the amazing videos!
Just wanna say THANK YOU for these excellent videos and publishing your stencils and patterns for everyone to use. I recently completed my ranger cosplay with a mix of foam and 3d printed parts, and I wouldn't have been able to pull it off without your excellent videos... About 200 of your views gotta be just me coming back to double check things. Really happy with my results, even if they're not quite as pro as yours!
Just made the chest armor following your directions for my sons halloween costume! Thank you so much for posting video and providing the blue prints to make. I am going to guess as to how to attach straps.
Thank you so much! I tried using Testors cement for plastics to attach nylon adjustable straps. I was installing in an x shape in the back but the glue did not work. I know you suggested barge contact glue for foam. Is that the same glue you would use? I could not find it at any local shop is dallas. I may just buy it through amazon. Or would you recommend Bob smith super glue?
This is definitely an amazing tutorial from a skilled craftsman. Your processes for painting aren’t too different from my own but I’ve definitely learned a few things! Credit where credit is due man.
Hey great video i printed out the templates and i see i need 6mm foam do you think i could do this with 10mm for most of the helmet because i already have that from a previous project and I'll have to wait a while for the 5mm to arrive in the mail and I'm pretty impatient
Great tutorial! How many coats of plastidip do you put prior. Also, any plans on making a Anti-Material rifle tutorial. Thanks for the templates. I made a Ncr Ranger few yrs back. So definitely want to rebuild using your templates
Did I not cover how many? I typically do 3-4 and as for the rifle I haven’t made plans for it yet because I’m so busy with other work. When I can leave my dayjob I’ll make more for sure
Great tutorial, just have a couple quick questions, Firstly, how many cans of plastidip would you expect to go through? Because plastidip is fairly expensive here in australia and I dont wanna over or under order it too much if I can help it. And secondly, would it be possible for you to put a list of what materials and roughly how much you would use in the description or a pinned comment, it would be really useful to not have to be going back and forth through the video to see exactly what I need, especially with stuff like paint where brand and exact colour can make a big difference. Anyway, thanks so much for making these videos and especially for releasing the patterns for free!
Absolutely my wife just gave birth to our first like 2 days ago so I can answer one of those at the moment but I’ll write it down and send it to you shortly! When I catch a break! But I did 4 cans for my armor!
@@ashenwarriorprops All good, take all the time you need, your kid is obviously way more important than anything on here, and Congrats BTW! But on the downside, it's looking like I'm gonna need to be spending $80-100usd on the plastidip alone haha.
No shops around me nor on Internet have the rust-oleum flat soft iron (amazon shipping would cost 67$), will the be a big change with their other black primers like flat black, gloss black, satin black or hammered black? I don't really know whats the difference between those.
Hey friend! So sorry to hear that the biggest thing with those blacks you mentioned are: Flat is no shine at all much like a true black with no shine Satin has the smallest amount of shine like a piece of plastic And glossy is akin to a cars black paint
@@ashenwarriorprops so I guess the flat black will be best? I also can't really find a silver chrome paint, sprays only so the question is can I just spray alot in small spot or directly on a brush and use that on the edges?
Hey I noticed that you said you made the jacket yourself, but there is no template for it on your website, I don't need a tutorial for how to sew it but having the templates to use for my own would be nice if they still exist?
You can make them from red plastic at tap plastics. I have a bear exact copy from them for not a ton of money. You just cut them out with a coping saw or bandsaw then shape with a heat gun.

Hey I have a question about the template for the helmet, when I print off the pieces they look a little small for my head is it supposed to look that way? I have limited foam so if I screw this up its over lol

If you print it to fill an entire page of a standard piece of paper then you'll be golden. Depending on your head shape you might need to add just a teeny bit of insulation to fill any void between your head and the inside of the helmet, but never a whole lot.
