Congratulations on the newborn! Thanks for the tip on another pizza place to check out. Pizza, for how glorious it is, is still very underpriced :) Everything is going up, but it's the food (groceries, restaurants, etc) that is becoming the most noticeable.
baby Alexander how cute and give him a hug from me...I live in Sydney Australia one of the most expensive cities in to live in ...cost of living is so expensive rent ,buying home (anywhere start @ 1m),food ,drinks going out etc...
Currently in NYC from the Uk staying in Hell’s Kitchen and Omg the cost of everything 😮 the exchange rate is almost at £1. -$1 at the moment so we really notice it. Back home 4 pints of milk £1.15, a loaf of bread £1, my unlimited mobile phone which I can use anywhere in Europe £12.99 per month! Cocktails £6 to maybe £10. Despite watching most of your videos and sticking to the “do not doos” and feeling pretty savie I feel like they see us coming at every juncture - the hotdog sellers charging us $6 a hotdog or doubling the prices of slices 🤣🤣. But I do have to say thank you thank you for the China town tips - today we went to “Fried Dumplings” and agreed it was the best $5 we’ve spent since we got here 👌👌 we’re also taking your advice on Beasts and Butterflies tonight xxx
I live in NYC, avocados 🥑 on sale this week 55 cents each, large eggs $4 /dozen, jumbo eggs $6.50/dozen. Thick cut center cut pork chops $2.49/lb this week. One bedroom, 750 square feet I pay about $1400 which includes electric, gas, and water. Cell phone is about $25/month. I spend about $6 a week on laundry. The building I live in has a laundromat and they are changing machines soon so it might go up.
You should be hitting 350K soon! Your owner probably has not raised your rent because you pay on time and you don't cause problems.its better to keep a good tenant and not raise rent then raise the rent snd get bad tenants For groceries I often buy store brands which are cheaper and just as good.
Another great video and some really good advice and perspective. Always like the way you mix it up. Have shared this with NYC friends. And your baby is pretty much the star of the video. Too cute. Congrats.
You included a b-roll of a traffic jam (8:41) in Warsaw, Poland where I live, nice 😂 coming to NYC again for a vacation in three weeks! Content useful as always!
NYC is very expensive but one good thing is they have tons of restaurants at different price points. I live in DC right now and there has been an explosion of very high end dining and cocktail bars. Sometimes you don’t want to go to a fast food or fast casual place, but want a sit down restaurant but don’t want to completely break the bank. Harder to find more moderate places here. Never had that problem in NYC especially in Brooklyn and the East Village. You have so many options at all price points.
I had no clue we were neighbors and that La Villa does slices in the early afternoon. LOVE their prosciutto, arugula, and parm pie. Great video as always!
I live in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦. We don’t usually buy a gallon of milk but 3 bags at 1.3 litres each so combined the same as a US gallon. $5.89 Canadian which is $4.37 US. A gallon of milk in NY is $7.50 Canadian. Wow
Wow that baby UA-cam clothes is so cute. Yeah everything is so expensive. The Cost of living is getting too crazy. And wow I didn’t know you have to pray they much for health insurance. Great video.
People don't realize this stuff, when they sign a lease with a luxury building and you have a corporation controlling your rent

im going to visit NY next month and im not gonna lie these prices are scary lmaoo, specially when the currency of my country is devalued :( but im going to use your tips from the other videos and hope i can get along fine. anyone else coming from south america next month? :)
Well I don't know what to do man, right now I don't have to overwork at my single job but I'm forced to do 3 jobs because the cost of living has gotten out of hand because of the economy. I do not have any friends or family I can rely on to support me so the only thing left for me to do is work 3 jobs to make as much money as possible. I wake up at 6.30 am and sleep at 3am every day and work the entire time, also on the weekends. My brother is dead and I have to take care of his child, the mother doesn't want the child. She is luckily 17 and very independant, she can cook, clean, wash clothes, etc. I taught her everything. I barely see her. She says it's like I don't exist. It's hard, but I don't know what to do? If I stop, the economy is gonna kick my ass. I can't stop. I have to take care of my niece, I have to take care of my bills, I have to bring food to the table. I can't lose my appartment which I am renting. There is no way out. Even if I ware to take sick leave and go to a doc it wouldn't make any difference, because there wouldn't be sufficient money coming in. I have to take anxiety meds, anti depression meds, sleeping meds and even 0.25mg of xanax daily to cope with the stress and overwork.

Your little guy is Extremely adorable! Thank you for sharing him with us! (Oh, and, for the record, your restaurant is quite a bit pricier than here in San Diego, but the grocery prices are not that ridiculous and your wine bottle is pretty much spot on what I pay for a similar one here at BevMo for a decent Malbec)
1st…Alexander is ADORABLE! So happy to see him and happy for you all. 2nd…I live in OHIO. A tall latte is 3.95! I’ve yet to find NYC restaurant/cafe/deli prices more expensive than other places I’ve lived or traveled. Grocery store prices may be higher. BUT I find prices for eating out in NYC vs. other highly populated cities in U.S. to be comparable.
Good Sunday Afternoon My Friend IAM Hoping That You Are Having A Fruitful Day Congratulations On Your New Arrival Alexander In Tampa Florida Eggs Are $8.00 A Dozen Bread Is 2.50 Much Blessings And Love Always Ms British Gray From Tampa Florida :)
Being a florida resident and spending a few wks in NYC every couple months. NYC is definitely CHEAPER minus rent rents slightly cheaper average 2br apartment is 1600-2600 if u have subsidized or lower income housing it’s about $1300 but electric is outrageous average is $350 for 2-3br apartment u also have water/sewer and gas bill as well and don’t even get me started on food we are in newyork right now and still have money in our food budget vs this time of the month maxing out credit cards just to get through the rest of the month people think newyork is expensive til u live somewhere it costs more

Best you go to costco immediately and get a membership for $60 2 can share you and your other family in nj You will recover on the 1st day Health insurance is crazy in nyc and your copays must be ridiculous. You might get a 1 bed for 2k Wine price is reasonable for nyc Costco has a wine store attached If costco does not sell it you don’t need it Best wishes for a happy new year
You are a paying a good 2 to 4 times, the amount we do in the UK, occasionally more for quite a few groceries items. Thankfully not all item have this big a price gap.
I spend 250 a month on rent, 200 a month on food, and about 800 on entertainment, transportation, etc in my town! Congratulations on your new born! Will definitely check out that pizzeria
I literally almost fell of my sofa when I heard the cost of health insurance, and I’m not exaggerating. I’m Canadian so the idea of paying that much each month just floors me. That’s way more than my mortgage.
@iseemelanie I think because Jon is self employed he is paying this amount of what called in USA - Obamacare😂Yes health care system is complicated - seniors are in Medicare, low income getting Medicaid program, but majority people who are working for companies are getting health care coverage(subsidized) thru employers. On another hand we in USA are not waiting for month to get to primary care physician, or 6 months to get some tests(C-scan or imaging) or more then a year to get a knee replacement like you in free health care Canada 😊😅😮
@@homerb3368 dude it’s not like that up here. It doesn’t take that long to see a doctor. Any and everyone has access to healthcare, whether their employer pays for it or not. It’s our right as citizens.
Thanks for the update. How much is the electric and gas and or other utiilities ? I can't get over rent there, it seems so high. I live in central CT, in a studio and the rent just went up to $730 a month. Say Hi to Adrianna, and Alexander. That is my birthday name. I go by Alex. Take care.
That auto insurance is out of line. We didn't even get a discount for parking in a garage and insurance was less than $900/year for a big truck - f-150 supercrew (our canine limousine) - essentially the size of a Chevy suburban. Oh, you're asking how much it cost to park? Ha, that's another story. Peace of mind, Hudson river valley, no paid therapy... We moved to Texas a year ago (not by choice), and frankly, prices are about the same, especially since we're paying for fuel. BTW, If you move to Texas, try to be close to an H.E.B. / Central Market. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's don't even compare.
These prices are just making me realize how overpriced my home city is.. Only marginally less expensive than NYC and without so many of the things that make NYC so awesome.
Ha, I thought Vegas was expensive. Everything has gone up here. It's good to know what the cost of living in my hometown is. I left NYC back in of October 1993
@Zeiloth88 Coming to USA from the communist country(which doesn’t exist anymore) with a free Health care system, I would take expensive and the best Health Care system in the world over free health care systems in Germany, or UK or Canada. 😊🤪
I have T-mobile. My cell phone bill is $165 for four lines with Unlimited data. So about $41 per line. I have Geico car insurance. It cost me $140 for 6 months. So around $23 per month. I live in New Jersey. I pay $150 for groceries every 2 weeks. So $300 per month. My rent is $1200 for a three bedroom townhouse.
I do really enjoy the video and wanted to share some of price idea how much it cost for Indonesian. House Rent in Proper Gated Community $3000-6000/year (and you already got the nice one 3-4 BR) Grocery $50-100/month Utilities $20-100/month Internet data $10/month for 14GB Milk $1.3/liter GDP/capita $4300/year Visiting NYC in few weeks, I feel like breaking the bank already 🤣
Here is some advice -- when a food place appears on this channel, the price goes up big time. I know a place where you can get eggs direct from the farmer for $7.00, up from $5.00 not long ago. But I'm not about to say where here!
0:56 For those why are out of town New York,NY is Manhattan. Many of these poles or rankings saying NY is the most expensive city/state, mostly start with Manhattan without saying Manhattan. They lump everything together. Everything is centered around Manhattan. You can live at the edge of Queens and the weather for the day is based on how it is in Central Park…Manhattan.
I'm a native New Yorker who lives in Northern Virginia (just outside of DC). For comparison, my monthly mortgage + condo fee (includes all utilities) is $1580 for a 2-bedroom condo. I pay $65 a month for internet. My health insurance cost for a single person is $150 a month (I work for the government). We have limited metro and bus service, but for the most part, having a car here is a must. I pay $62 a month for car insurance. I thought about moving back to NYC since I have family there, but after comparing the costs on the video here, I think I'll stick to just visiting. Doesn't seem worth it, and I feel like it's NYC's huge population density that jacks the costs up for everyone. If NYC's population decreased by 50%, you can bet the cost of living will go down significantly in all aspects.
My situation is living in one of the more popular transplant neighborhoods of Brooklyn, near Manhattan. But yeah if you want to be central, costs will be similar.
Almost everything is similar in price here in Puebla, maybe a dollar cheaper here, but, I have IMSS (the national insurance) and I pay like 15 dollars a month, but it is according to income, so lower income lower rate, no copays, no deductibles, bendito sea el IMSS.
I booked hostel at brooklyn in May for 160$ for 4 nights , im absolutely happy , food i will see , restaurants for sure no , piece of roll in Walmart plus something to drink and somehow i survive , i only want to be there , makes few photos etc rest is no matter.
The UK is cheaper than the US for food has got a bit boring on youtube. But it may still be worth giving a price on the milk because of UK and US pints and gallons are not the same. The largest UK size for milk is 6 pints, but that is only 10% less milk than a US gallon. In the UK 6 pints of milk is £2.30, converting for pack size and exchange rate equals $3.23.
Wow, it's expensive in America in Europe it's half the price and fresher 🤨 food and not packed in plastic 😏 is sold fresh 🥩👨🌾, In Eu fresh chicken eggs 2-3 Eur 🙄
as a german that visited NY last september i was shocked about the prices of alcoholic beverages. i.e. beer was about triple the price, that we pay in germany, and as you guys might guess, we love to drink a couple of beers on a night out. although it was an expensive trip, we loved it and had a great time!
@DaBomp Yes we paying higher price for beer, but next time come to San Diego and try our west coast IPA beers, you might like it😅,but I have to admit German lagers are still the best in the world👍Prosit😂
hi! u have a great family, god bless them and you! i am from a country from europe and do you think that if i will come in ny for a week its expensive 500$ for hotel?
Expensive city. You are paying way over the odds for the basics. Even with the exchange rate you are making London seem like a bargain basement and given the cost of living there that is saying something.
Damn why he paying $650/month for car insurance? TF 👀…a couple years ago I was at $240 then last year I switch companies went up to $280. I was annoyed at those prices. Now I just stopped driving all together and looking to sell my car 😂. Just not worth it anymore with all the headaches that come with owning one. But this video is a sad reality check of the times we will in NYC 2023. Can it get much worse? Will it get much worse? 🤷♂️😅
6-8 dollars for a sandwich? at that point make your own, much cheaper, no need to pay that much for a simple sandwich, like deadass tho. Obviously prices differ from neighborhood to neighborhood but lord seeing those prices make me wanna choke slam these capitalists 😭
U still very lucky in NYC money wise bc tel aviv which is the most expensive city on the planet you'll end up eating just rice and drinking water to survive 🙌🤣🤣🤣🙌
Was in new york yesterday, back in london today, bought a water and a bar of chocolate at canal st 7/11 yesterday for the equivalent of £11, for £8 today, at earls court sainburys in london (prob same square meter operational running costs in both places) paid £8 for (including) a meal deal (cold coffee, hot chicken counter 2 chicken pieces and reeces nutrageous) also got a protein shake and higgeldy 6 pack cheese roll (delicious btw) on offer and all for the £8 including the Bag price! thank you dear Blighty! i will never complain about prices in the uk again. In new york The tipping, tax also adds up your bill everywhere ,if you dont leave a tip your a philistine, if you wonder why tax is not included in pricing? you are just stupid..in the uk there is not the obsession about tipping and is not automatically expected in smaller places, if at all. London is more transparent and tax is usually included. I love New York, its incredible! but the most unfathomably expensive cities ive ever been to and i still dont know why that is since Americans have greater economies of scale and labour cost advantages than more socialist leaning countries in europe
@paulseoighemcgee5772we are ok with the best health care system in the world 😊we don’t want to wait months for an appointment with a primary care physician or 6 months for a Cat-scan or one year for a knee replacement surgery which is what a free health care provides in a Europe or Canada or Australia 😊

Milk costs in Finland 3,3€ per gallon
Here is some advice -- when a food place appears on this channel, the price goes up big time.
I know a place where you can get eggs direct from the farmer for $7.00, up from $5.00 not long ago. But I'm not about to say where here!
I don't think I have the ability to raise prices on businesses haha.
Live in PA price gallon milk store brand $4.63
That healthcare is crazy. I only spend $400 a year per family member.
Moral of the story don't own a car in New York 😆😉
Renting is the elite 1% scam
Milk at Costco same price. Retail up to $9.
COUNCIL TAX////HEALTH INSURANCE/////OTHET EXPENDITURE////GROCERIES///__INCOME VS EXPENDITURE///// YOIR SOURCE OF INCOME////YOUR EXPENTITURE////
Kixby hotel is good
The UK is cheaper than the US for food has got a bit boring on youtube.
1 Bedroom for $2500!?!??!!? THATS INSANE!!!!
Pricey for, especially health insurance.
Congrats best wishes cute kid
I see why New Yorkers are coming to Texas
Lol I pay $25 per paycheck through my work for some of the best healthcare in the nation
2 dollars for one liter milk in Denmark 👍🏻
Is bethpage newyork costly?
Does New York have a public health insurance for lower income people? Here in California we have Medi-Cal or blue cross
@DaBomp Yes we paying higher price for beer, but next time come to San Diego and try our west coast IPA beers, you might like it😅,but I have to admit German lagers are still the best in the world👍Prosit😂
that healthcare cost is abysmal, third world levels
hi! u have a great family, god bless them and you! i am from a country from europe and do you think that if i will come in ny for a week its expensive 500$ for hotel?
Rember metro PCS?
for me Milk costs £2
Nice
subway ride is Free.
Honestly this doesn’t seem as crazy as all of the articles make it seem. Also $2500 in Park Slope?! Never move. That’s a great deal.
Yeah keep lining the pockets of the landlord... move 40 min out and buy a small house an be your own boss.
Chubbiekins! 😊
6-8 dollars for a sandwich? at that point make your own, much cheaper, no need to pay that much for a simple sandwich, like deadass tho. Obviously prices differ from neighborhood to neighborhood but lord seeing those prices make me wanna choke slam these capitalists 😭
130$ week 😮👏 Be happy if able to do that 😁
Lucky........
U still very lucky in NYC money wise bc tel aviv which is the most expensive city on the planet you'll end up eating just rice and drinking water to survive 🙌🤣🤣🤣🙌
Did he mention where their income comes from?
milk 6$ in south fl
You probably live in Miami that's expensive
To be your neighbor I would have to make $500 to keep my same standard of living as AZ. 😳
New viewer from Sweden. Love your videos. Hope you come visit sometime :D
Honestly America you need to universalise free healthcare as a human right , your faithfully , a European .
Wife from Ireland…. I went to medical school in Ireland……no thanks I’ll keep my U.S. insurance as is…. Faithfully an American
