The lyric was “ Once upon a time, when you were mine”. The sequel to this song is I Know Your Out There Somewhere. Both songs were inspired by a real person, who he has left nameless. Love the Moody Blues❤️❤️❤️
It wasn't a dream, she knew the band before they became big, and successful, she just thinking back on her younger days, when she was dating the lead singer. And how they went their separate ways.
I grew up listening to this group & they are one of my favorites from the 60's - 80's. They have had so many hit songs. Love their mix of rock with classical music. They have a sound like no other band. The Moody Blues' most successful singles include "Go Now", "Nights in White Satin", "Tuesday Afternoon", "Question", "Gemini Dream", "The Voice" & "Your Wildest Dreams". But all of their music is great.
"Question", "I'm Just a Singer in a Rock And Roll Band", "The Voice", "Sitting at the Wheel".....if you go deeper into the Moody's - a group a lot of people who came of age around 1967-1970 love.
Don’t forget about “The Story in Your Eyes”! “We’re part of the fire that is burning And from the ashes we can build another day”. My favorite line from any song ever
I remember when this video came out, loved it. MTV was the best in the 80s. It showed us who the artist and groups were. Also gave us insight about who they were
Fun fact: Ben Daniels who plays the teenage Justin in this video and the video for I Know You're Out There Somewhere is now a well-known and very successful actor with an over thirty-year career, including most recently playing Lord Snowdon/Anthony Armstrong Jones (Princess Margaret's husband) in 'The Crown'.
The Moody Blues were like a more mature Beatles, and have always been underrated. I know their first seven albums very well, all the words, music, etc., and can recommend all of that. They were like Yes in that you knew you could count on them to bring you back to a healthy state of mind. And like Yes, and Genesis, and many of the progressive bands...some of their music is deeply spiritual.
The followup to this song is their "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" -> must watch both. It's not deep, guys. It's a love story about memories of the past love & wondering where they are and if they still think about him.
Awwww, I totally forgot about this song! I was nostalgic when this song came out thinking about people I knew 10 years before. Now I'm nostalgic for when this came out.
This is really about the singer reminiscing on his first love and just wondering if she ever thinks about him. They eventually grew apart, but he has never forgotten her. The lyrics are "Once upon a time, once when you were mine." Now, you should listen to "I know your out there somewhere " The video is a continuation of the video of "Wildest Dreams". So happy to see you doing more Moody Blues.
I love the Moody Blues, nothing compares to how they make you feel. As, what is called a Starseed, I feel a deep longing and homesick feeling for those I miss, while living here on Earth. For me, I deeply feel this , and it makes me miss my star family deep in my soul. This group is other worldly, because they incarnated here, from elsewhere.
The story is reflecting on the early days of the group and a past love. The black and white is their early days. And she is left behind a 2nd time at the end.
A song about a young love and wondering where and how they are today and if they think about you the way you think about them. Another great song by them is "The Voice".
Picture it. A band just starting in a small town. The front man and a local girl are head over heals. He leaves to see if his star is rising and music will be his life. She stays. He becomes a big star and the band comes to put on a concert in the town where they got their start. He sings to their memory. Love this. Do, "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" to see if the find each other again.
The Moody Blues are awesome. For my favorite tune of theirs from the same time period, check out The Voice -- it's AMAZING. And if you haven't already, check out "Nights in White Satin." A true classic.
I Know your out there somewhere is great too. I love how they have the woman older and married then the video goes back to the 60s when they were together
Now you absolutely HAVE TO watch the follow up song & video called 'I Know You're Out There Somewhere' It the continuation of this video. (it continues the story in this video)
Ty haven't heard this ia a while...love the moody blues...saw them in concert seattle 1970....pls check out Tuesday afternoon and nights in white satin...both from 1967 ♥️♥️♥️
Dy Dear Father back in the day used to sing this "In Your wild ass dreams" Great story there is a part two to this. "I Know you're out there somewhere"
It was the video of the year 1986 according to MTV .... great song, I recommend "Gemini Dream" by the legendary The Moody Blues, this song has an air to ELO, bye
The Moody blues have always been very deep. But their music is fantastic and so is the lyrics. They were one of the top bands in the late '60s and remain that way throughout. They were outstanding!
They wrote their own music and lyrics. Justin Haywood, lead guitar and lead singer, wrote most of their songs. a very underrated singer/songwriter. All of their music incorporated an orchestral background. They are sometimes referred to as "the thinking mans band" because the lyrics provoke deep thoughts, and have multiple meanings depending on individual interpretations. They have an mid 60's beginnings, so they have been around a long time, contrary to an editor of Rolling Stone Magazine whom said that a rock band with an orchestra won't last long. They were so wrong. This group will be a deep rabbit hole for anyone whom wants to pursue their music. The Voice and Nights in White Satin are probably their most prolific songs, along with I know you're out there somewhere (mid 80's release).
I recommend listening to these songs, "New Horizons", "For My Lady', "I'm Just A Singer", "Legend of a Mind", "Never Comes The Day", "Dawning Is The Day", "Melancholy Man o "The Story In Your Eyes". Saludos
This song i remember it because i bought the album on cassette since more than 30 years ago and still have it it. Listen to the song sang by the band ROMANRICS called TALKING IN YOUR SLLEP
Brought tears to my eyes thinking of my high school sweetheart for forty years. Then I met her again. Yes, she had been dreaming of me, too. Amazing reunion!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once when you were "MINE" not "NINE". I wasn't that bad a pervert!!! 😂Mine was 14 when I met her, but I was a kid, too. We are old now and she was married to another guy for 30 years and I'm still married so we are just enjoying being able to see each other once in awhile and talk old times. Sweet!
As was mentioned, "I Know You're Out There Somewhere" is the sequel to "Your Wildest Dreams". I'd second the motion for "Question" "Ride My Seesaw" "Legend of A Mind" "I'm Just A Singer (In the A Rock and Roll Band)" "Dr. Livingstone, I presume"** "Never Comes the Day" "Beginning" "Lovely To See You Again" "The Dream"/"Have You Heard? (Part 1)"/"The Voyage"/"Have You Heard (Part 2)" ""Lord Stanley's expedition to find the long missing Dr. David Livingstone was successful. However, the in line "Doctor Livingstone, I presume" almost certainly never happened. As we say in Scotland tioraidh an-drasta 🏴
This song is about whether your old flame still thinks about you long after the relationship from your youth has ended. Where are you now? Do you still think about me, even in your wildest dreams? Obviously, the person doing the asking still has feelings for that special person they're thinking about.
Y'all got to remember when then they came from which is part of this video. It's a story of the one that got away and then years later came close to getting back but history repeated itself and they both are eachothers one that got away.'~
The lyric was “ Once upon a time, when you were mine”. The sequel to this song is I Know Your Out There Somewhere. Both songs were inspired by a real person, who he has left nameless. Love the Moody Blues❤️❤️❤️

So" hot" when he hits that low note 🥰
The Moodies are unique. Five guys who could write, four who could sing and were great instrumentalists, and a flute, to boot!
Yes!
And the one who didn't really sing wrote great poetry and was a fantastic drummer. Graeme Edge, RIP.
It wasn't a dream, she knew the band before they became big, and successful, she just thinking back on her younger days, when she was dating the lead singer. And how they went their separate ways.
Once upon a time. Once when you were mine. So very true and sad. The road not taken. Regret.
A legendary sound among the best bands ever and great live while they were together for so long!

The Moody Blues were simply fantastic.
The Moody Blues are amazing! I grew up in the 70s listening to them. ❤️❤️
My boyfriend went to a lot of concerts and said the Moody Blues was the best. He met them later and they were really nice and down to earth.
Another great song by the Moody Blues is Ride my seesaw.

This band is amazing and sadly unappreciated for the wonderful musicians that they were. You cannot go wrong with Moody Blues 🌺✌️
Silent Circle- Love is just a word

Everything the Moody Blues did was deep 🤔
The Moody blues have always been very deep. But their music is fantastic and so is the lyrics. They were one of the top bands in the late '60s and remain that way throughout. They were outstanding!

The two main characters in this video do meet up in the follow up song titled, 'I Know You're Out There Somewhere.' The two finally get together.
That synth sound you're hearing is called a Mellotron. The master of that instrument was in the Moody Blues.
There was a live version they did that my dad had a CD of. I lost it, but I swear the god it was the best version I ever heard.
