- This is a recorded interview with IAS Pooja Elangbam, Batch of 2014 (B.A. History Honours) held in the campus of St. Stephen's College by The St. Stephen’s North-East Society Alumni Outreach.
Pooja Elangbam shares her college experiences both in the fields of academics and social life. Furthermore, she shares how her upbringing in North-East India has influenced her personal and professional journey. She joined the Union Public Service Commission in 2018 and is currently serving as the Joint Secretary to the Government of Manipur.
The interview was conducted by Denoto John and Khakchangti Riang.

IAS officers have significant administrative authority and autonomy in executing their duties. However, in reality, it is not so. There are full political influence/controlled from MLA directly or indirectly. Present situation of Manipur proves this statement itself. It is hard to find diamond.

They are just puppets, don't respect them, their knowledge is used for prestige, conceal the corrupt practice by the bureaucrats and politicians, nexus , nepotism and cronysm, also promoted, discharge their duties in the interest of the current government, mla and mps ,it is a fact.

Where is this St. Stephen North....?
In the beginning I think it should Govt. of Manipur and not Imphal if I am not wrong. Nevertheless, great job North-East Society very well executed interview very insightful, the interviewers speak very well!
