Great question, where we can achieve a HSD graze I like to move them every 12-14hrs, or at least every couple of days if we can’t achieve the desired stocking density or if other work commitments don’t allow for daily moves. @@Udderfarm excellent! We move about the same. Twice a day when we can, sometimes more. I find in most of our paddocks need at least 50,000 lbs density to get the right impact. When I have the time I’ll go as much as 250,000. What’s your annual rainfall there?
That's awesome likewise, we try and maintain at least a HSD at a minimum. Though where we can UHSD is optimal for conditions on the Trial Property, though not realistic on the UDDERFARM until we stop continuous grazing and start getting some pasture growth. Either of these two we've had success with achieving the thatch layer we are looking for as well as limiting selective grazing. Our annual rainfall other than the past few years which have been well above average and wet, 34" is the normal average.
