I've been a Farnham member since the late 1970's......they have some amazing waters with an incredible stock of fish... as you say, Badshot big pond has monster cats, bream, carp and grassies....the only downside with Farnham....their waters don't half get busy, once the weather warms up😕
Imo, the cage feeder will out fish the method every time. I used to swear by the method, always fished it for years, but the last two years, its been the cage, but not on tip, i use a waggler float. Again float is a lot sensitive than a tip Thanks for upload.😊
Trevor the fisheries manager was telling me to ‘get off the flatbed’! 😂 I agree with you on any natural venue and I think I was forgetting I wasn’t fishing a commercial.
If big bream, tench, and rudd are something to float your boat, them Frensham great pond will take some beating. For tips and baits, I recommend looking up Duncan Charman and/or Paul Garner on you tube as they have fished and recorded session there with pretty good results. You may well need waders to get to their swim though. I've seen pics of some fair size moggies from baddy lea, so if you target them, make sure your gear can cope with it. Many grandad was a Farnham member for many years, so I got to visit some of those waters when I was little, along with 2 cousins, all in a Morris Minor with all our gear and bait, lunch, all we needed. They were the says. Now we're told we need a van to get our kit in, and a converted wheel barrow to get to a swim.... LOL Like yourself, I prefer basic and simple. Enjoying seeing your material, especially when it's at places I'm familiar with. I drove buses past todays venue for years. Be well John. TTFN
Many thanks for such a thorough and thoughtful comment! I cannot wait to fish Frensham and do have some chest waders. I’ve watched a few of Duncan’s vids and the combination of tench, rudd, bream and roach - esp on the float - sounds too good to be true. I’m going to try one of the lakes at Yately before long as well - I’m like a kind in a sweetshop! 😄

So I hear (some getting busy) but it’s been grand so far - look out for a video coming soon where I DO manage to catch some proper bream 😃

Weathers not normal for this time of year . Im starting to believe they messing with climate.
I think you could be right… 😒
On the small pond fish the margins.
Thanks! I hear the far bank, by the houses, has the deeper margins. Will give them a go before too long.
