Having met Bret Iwan (the voice of Mickey Mouse), I think I know why the voice acting sounds so bad. One of my friends asked him about his opinion on the Kingdom Hearts games, and he said he doesn’t really know much about the story, and the voice actors don’t get much context for their lines.
Tf why does this has less than 40 likes. this makes total sense I can totally see Disney doing this
Hi i’m french and i wanted to say that this problem was also for the french counterpart because for kingdom hearts 1, when the cast ask how they portrayed the characters and how they would dub, they say that they just had the concept art (so not even the final version of the characters) and the script with no context at all and they just had to imagine what to do for the rest of the game
Sorry for my bad english
I don't blame the voice actors for not knowing everything just like the rest of us
@@spritemon98 I'd say it's more bad direction. If the VA's aren't given any context for their lines, they won't know the appropriate way to perform the line. I've noticed a lot of the Sonic the Hedgehog games are guilty of this too.
@@pherftheclown2631 I meant it more as any casual player doesn't know every plot detail about the games just like how the va's don't know any context
I'm guessing that 2.9 bit might have been a joke by Nomura.
Knowing we're all tired of side games and want to play 3 already.
Yeah I burst out into laughter when I saw that when I first played the game.
“Aren’t you tired of side games guys? Haha so funny desu.
So here’s Kingdom Hearts Verum Cross 3.9 a Fractured Narrative Over 13 Versus Unchained Days”
That wasn't funny at all. Every title costed a bunch of money.
A pretty fun joke I got to say.
It was a little confusing and hilarious, but it makes sense. Reason being, 2.9 is considered another prologue towards 3. Once the title screen for 3 showed up, THAT is when the story officially begins and we are diving into the full details of what happens.
And let's not forget: KH2 went this same route as well in the beginning with Roxas (being the prologue to Sora's story) and then, the title screen for 2 shows up; cuing the moment for the details of KH2's plot to begin unfolding.
Just my perspective, anyway. Take it as you will. Enjoy your day! :D
You know what I like about you Soda? I like that you hold game companies accountable by reviewing games based on their condition at LAUNCH! If every reviewer committed to this ideology, the rest of the gaming industry might actually start to give a shit about how their games quality at release. Good on you mate.
Sadly it also means the review is useless for someone looking for insight on the most current build of a game. That's why most reviewers can't stick to that mindset, but it's still good to have reviewers who hold devs and publishers accountable for the state of their games at release.
The game was such a massive disappointment that RadicalSoda never did the part 2 for this, even during the pandemic.
You must know a secret: No KH Game is a side game. Even the... mobile one.
That's one of the big issues with KH and why there is this split in the fanbase. Sure you have those that played the games on the various platforms, but there's also a sizable portion that only played the main titled games on PS2. The other games with their specific names come off as side-games, as we had KH then KH: Chain of Memories , followed by KH2. So for many, myself included, the portable games seemed more like their own separate entities that took place in the KH world.
It's like with Star Wars. The main series are the trilogies, 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. There are films/shows that take place in-between these films, but you don't need to watch those to be able to follow and understand the plot of the main trilogy.
With KH, you could play 1 then 2 and have a pretty good understanding of what's going on. However with KH3, you need to have played the other games to understand all the lore/story connections that occur in that game.
Still technically side games.
A canon side game is still a side game.
@@fightingmedialounge519 Well no, side game would indicate its NOT part of the main story and can easily be skipped. They usually just add context or flesh something out for those that want more. KH doesn't have this. EVERY game is needed because the main story is stretched over them all. Its not a case of just getting some cool information, its actual plot and main story stuff. It was bad back when most people had no idea why KH2 started like it did but now there are half a dozen games not on the main consoles that you also need to play if you want the entire story. When a mobile game has plot relevant information, something has been fucked up.
@@Azazreal no, nothing in the definition of spin offs require them to be irrelevant to over all story. They normally are because most writers think putting important information in the main series is the best choice.

It didn't feel cheap to me but I honestly did miss it
Cheap?
You know it's harder to make 3d models than to handdraw?
@@thekingdomofhearts6152 Not if the model you're going to use is the same one you're going to use for the game, using the same model as the in game one means you get to skip making a drawing. And by cheap I didn't mean only in money terms, but also in style, the drawings were, in my opinion, much cooler.
I kind of agree with this complaint. I don’t mind the 3D models, but the 2d art was much more stylish and charming.

Even though I fall into the “kingdom hearts 3 is flawed but I still love it” part of the fandom, thank you for giving valid reasons for disliking the game unlike some other channels
The Speaker yeah I liked kingdom heart 3 even though it’s a bit flawed in some ways. Also I liked 358/2 days a lot though it isn’t the first kingdom hearts game I’ve played I like to consider it as the first one I played. Because I couldn’t remember the first kingdom hearts game I played before playing 358/2 days
The only two parts of KH3 I liked are the Toy Story world in the final stretch of the game.
I also fall into the "kh3 is flawed but I still think it's pretty fun"
But the game was overhyped waaaaaaay too much, so when it didn't live up to that hype... well, you saw what happened
The Speaker
RadicalSoda is pretty good at critiquing games with good reasons.
@@Jfrost9101 and that is why people should learn to check their expectations and not just join a hype train, and instead just judge a game on what it has done upon release, and if a games updated to then review that on its merits... oh, who am I kidding, common sense is no longer a thing... uncommon sense however exists now.
Pretty sure 2.9 was just the game’s way of saying the prologue, or it could also just be a joke kind of because Nomura knows people were tired of the “side games” even though they were important for plot details.
Yes!! Thank you!!! I'm glad another understands this was a prologue too (in a hilarious way, I might add lol). But yeah, it shouldn't really be surprising since KH2, with Roxas's story in the beginning and into KH2 title, took this same route too (only with no 1.9, but you get the idea. xD).

"Sora is also a kid again and...WHY?!" Literally my reaction to dream drop distance too when it first came out. :'D
It’s because in order to access the sleeping realm, Sora needed to be present on a world that was currently falling to darkness. So Yen Sid used time travel to send Sora and Riku back in time to the Destiny Islands. Or rather, the time during KH1 where it fell to Darkness. Because of this, Sora and Riku were stuck in their younger selves bodies.
@Joey Jeffries true but there’s still a lore reason why the looked the way they did lol

@@ShadowbannedAccount I call it a giga Brain story but whatever lol
As a longtime fan of the series who got very invested, kh3 really just felt like a surface level fanservice checklist.
Every time something had the potential to be cool they just screwed it up, like interactions between axel and ventus and between roxas and ventus
And of course story elements happen without sora's involvement until AFTER the disney worlds are finished.
AND THEN SORA FUCKING DIES WITH NO BUILDUP, KAIRI FINISHES HER TRAINING ONLY TO DO LESS THAN SHE DID IN KH2 AND GET DAMSELED, AND EVERYONE FORGIVES THE GUY WHO HAS BEEN FUCKING THEM OVER FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS AND WANTS TO END THE FUCKING UNIVERSE
It feels like a modern Disney movie... oh wait.
ALL OF THIS
How do you feel after playing the Remind DLC?
@@StillND I've come to appreciate the game more in the time since I made this comment. I had to realize that, because the game had so many years of hype and buildup behind it, it would be impossible for the game to hit every single beat that I want it to. I still maintain that the game has some rough pacing issues, but after playing through on critical I think this is some of the best combat the series has to offer. Being able to play as all the other wielders in remind is some of the coolest shit out there, and the Mickey Mouse microwave hallway is probably the most "Kingdom Hearts" thing to happen ever. Remind also made me do a complete 180 on Sora's death, so much so that I actually started tearing up after I saw the ending again with the extra scenes. I'm also not as upset over the Xehanort death scene as I used to be, and I don't understand where I got the idea that Xehanort was "forgiven". I see it now more as him realizing that despite all his plans and schemes and contingencies, he has been beaten in the end. And so, rather than fighting back against his literal and ideological defeat like Ansem and Xemnas did before, he gives up, and in doing so is able to pass on relatively peacefully (especially compared to the deaths of Ansem and Xemnas.)
Square, please just let Kairi be strong in the next game. she was 100% ready to throw down in 1 and 2, so let her do that? Please?
@@MishiMIshaniz Wow. That's an interesting take.
Well actually. Every game is canon
Sometimes? Until things get retconned
@@buisnessmahn6642
Nope. Absolutely EVERY GAME is canon...
The story is not even that confusing once you have the 'Story so far' collection and played/watched all the entries through.
@Snudion
The Brown Cloak Guy from 1 was Ansem, but Dream Drop says nah m8 that was time traveling Xehanort the whole time. My main point is that things can up and change like that. I know all the games happened but to which extent is questionable. Like how Nomura said that all side bosses are Canon. It doesn't take long to realize how strange that is. Like, Sora just said "Yo, let's check this weird orb out" and fought Lingering Will, and one. And then fought the entire organization but better in the Hall Of Rememberance
@buisness the brown cloak guy in KH1 has ALWAYS been Ansem. Or rather, just his heart in a sack. That is why Ansem possessed Riku back in KH1 in the first place. That allowed him to gain a physical form which was basically a body that was morphed between both Riku and Terra-Nort. At least that’s how I always saw it as lol.
Also remember what Young Xehanort said in DDD. In order to time travel, you must leave your body behind. Meaning your being has to ONLY be a Heart. In Ansem’s case before he possessed Riku, he was exactly that. A heart floating in a cloak. That is what allowed him to Time travel and recruit his younger self to bring back everyone for the final showdown in KH3.

dang didn't get around to the rest of it!? its a shame the best parts about this game are all shoved into the very end
I hear that quite a bit- I'll have to get back to this someday but it's a shame about everything else
I actually think the "best parts" being shoved to the end actually makes it even worse. Because it just make the other 90% of the game feel like a complete waste of time. And the last 10% of the game is just wasted with really bad pacing and rushed conclusions and really mediocre to bad conclusions to several character arcs.
I hear that about everything coming out of Square Enix these days. I'm starting to think they might not be that good at making games anymore.
@@ManiManiPlays They made FFVII Remake, so there is still competence somewhere. You can say what you will about the curve ball the story provides, but the game itself feels very very polished and complete as well as being generally well written.
@@RadicalSoda The new abilities/tweaks that came in the free patch with the DLC make combat feel much better in the main game, albeit still short of KH2. It's a better experience overall, not just in the end game and DLC (though yes, the DLC - specifically Limit Cut - is the highlight of the game). The story however is still just as fucked as ever, and Square needs to know that a year too late fixing the game is not tolerable.

Now minor things that kinda bugged me were that there was no interaction between Ventus and Roxas and zero lines from Phil, but that's just me
@@trec_gaming4201 I think the fanservice thing is probably the result of Disney meddling, since they played a much more active role with 3 than they did with any of the previous games. That’s how.
Really feels like the gameplay and the cutscenes were made by separate people who weren't allowed to talk to each other.
24:46 so.. you know when you mention Mickey’s voice. The Shorts Mickey and the KH Mickey are two different voice actors.
The (Paul Rudish) Shorts Mickey is Chris Diamantopoulos (and he’s been doing it since 2013. He also does the voice for the “Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway” ride at Hollywood studios, which makes sense as the ride is styled after the shorts, as well as the new Disney+ show “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” because it’s also the same style as the shorts).
The Kingdom Hearts Mickey is Bret Iwan (who also does the voice for the parks, video games, the Disney Junior shows and basically everything that isn’t related the Paul Rudish shorts. And he’s been voicing Mickey since 2009). Bret Iwan is a good actor, he’s amazing as Mickey. I just chalk it up to bad directing from the Kingdom Hearts team.
For the 0.2 thing. The collection of 3D and 0.2 is 2.8 final chapter prologue so 2.8 +.2 =3. It's still dumb though
According to KH it still equals to 2.9 ironically lol
0.2 takes place before kh1 & during, meaning Birth By Sleep is essentially game 0 making Union X -1 or something 😂

I thought people who enjoyed the series were at least past the whole “It’s soooo confusing” thing. While KH3 and DDD’s stories certainly are strange and had me scratching my head, all the other games make perfect sense. Never understood what was so hard for people to understand about them. Then again, from what I gathered from this video, he only really cares for the gameplay.
I thought the some of the voices were fine. Sora sounds lightyears better than he did in DDD. Xigbar still sounds like a god. And side note: they cut him off because it was something of a tease. It’s related to the mobile game.
Right? UA-camrs such as Superbutterbuns have commented on this topic of people saying "KH is so confusing" and classifies that category of people as just one big meme. And plus, there was a hecc ton of time to go back and review what happened until the release of KH3. And to go further, KH3 makes the extra mile to include a summary of what goes on in each past title. There really is not much of an excuse at this point to say it is confusing.
And the voice-acting didn't sound off or anything. Times change, things happen and whatnot. And yeah, the thing with Xiggy was just a big eye-opener for those who played KHUx. =) It's like, "Wait....HOW DOES HE KNOW THAT??? WHAT???" moment, lol.
I agree while I do believe the game is bad in a gameplay perspective (sora being floaty yada-yada, the whole deal becomes more an issue when critical mode 1 or 2 shots you with no way to dodge) the story is spot-on he needs to finish it though... that and if he refuses to play the full copy of 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 and WATCH THE FORETELLER EPISODE he aint gettin' the story or why xigbar saying that was cut off/a major hint at his angle in all this since people who are half xehanort obviously still have their own wills intact... mostly (Evil Riku/Terranort exempt from this as they're more xehanort then themselves) xehanort himself would know that saying, terranort would know that saying, xigbar SHOULD NOT KNOW THAT.
It's not confusing but it sure as hell is convoluted
Yenrzzvezdrz So are Dark Souls and most Final Fantasy games (notably VII and XIII) and yet people don’t complain about those nearly as much.
@@bababobo5067 I haven't played VII but lmao I've heard people rip on XIII for years. The only reason why it's not as infamous as KH in that regard is because KH is a series. XIII is one game.
I actually really enjoyed the story in KH2. It was confusing because I missed out on chain of memories but I actually did enjoy the confusion. It was fun.
And if you played chain of memories its not confusing at all.
the gameplay mechanics and writing were trash and thats coming from someone who loves the series to the point where I've played all the games at least three times. What I have a problem with is people acting like the story is too complicated to understand. Its not. Sometimes it straight up just rips off common anime tropes. Play the games and you'll understand the story. Its really not that hard
One of the problems with the story was for some reason everyone believed all these silly side games were all really important to the story.
It kinda was when KH3 came around, but, only because Nomura decided to arbitrarily reference the other games despite the only side game that's ACTUALLY important to the story being Birth by Sleep.
For example, I never played Union Cross and that reference at the end where all the player names are being summoned was...cute...but ultimately pointless to the plot itself. Someone who played union Cross would get more enjoyment seeing it, but, if you take that scene out you lose nothing ultimately.
To be honest though, the biggest problem with the story is the fact that what the story thinks is important to explain verses what's ACTUALLY important to the plot (I.E. it'll explain how a character got to a place instead of Why they are there).
The games story may not be the hardest thing to follow (I mean look at David Lynch's Dune...or that new film of his where he interrogates a monkey...seriously) but the piss poor story telling and even worse exposition makes it so hard to figure out what actually is important to know.
I don't believe the story is too complicated to understand, but it's unnecessarily complicated considering that the game was quite clearly written with young children in mind (childish protagonist, Donald and Goofy as sidekicks, cheesy dialogue, no portrayal of physical affection, nobody is allowed to die etc.). Obviously there are also plenty of adult fans because people love Disney and a lot of the fans of the first two games become adults in the meantime. There are way too many characters that all ultimately do nothing and are completely pointless, but I guess making a side game for every single one of them and releasing each on a different console must have made them quite a bit of money. How many "versions" of each main characters do we have at this point? Four Soras, four Kairis and six Rikus? Why the fuck do we need four Kairis when even the "original" is the most useless character in the entire series? Why not develop the characters you already have instead of making more Sonic recolors? The main couple has had a mutual crush since the first game and yet they only ever got as far as holding hands.
This series just has too much of everything. Too many "main" characters, too many special moves, too many enemies that are all basically just heartless... It really doesn't have to be that convoluted. And then sometimes it just feels like the series makes up and changes its rules as it sees fit. With Sora and Kairi, their nobodies were completely separate people, but a few games later Axel and Saix seem to have retained all their memories from their lives as regular humans and it just makes no sense whatsoever.
Personally I wouldn't consider myself a fan. I really liked the first game and Chain of Memories and finished them both multiple times as a teen, gave Kingdom Hearts 2 a shot but I almost had an aneurysm when I got to the point where the game explains to you that nobodies don't actually exist (Yes. Yes they do. They can kill you) and hated how much more childish Sora had become. It didn't really feel like his character was developing, it felt like he was going backwards. Watched let's plays of all the other games and don't feel like I missed all that much.
I honestly think Kh3 is visually beautiful but everything from the mechanics or how i put it "Gimmicks" to the sotry just changes my pee pee from a hard raging eggplant to a crumbly brick.
The criticism to the titans' fight actually happens in Hercules. Just sayin'.

Yeah man, keep giving us these videos. I need another “Sonic Lost World” trilogy of videos from you!
P.s. You are definitely one of my favorite small UA-camrs :)
The reason there are no Organization boss fights in early and midgame is that they can't start to lose Seekers of Darkness and Guardians of Light before the final confrontation. They are needed to forge the X-blade.
That being said, they could have had individual fights at certain parts of the story without one of them getting killed.
The members could have been done something like testing Sora to see if he would survive the war and Sora wasn't strong enough to be a threat to them.
Fighting multiple Organization members at the same time THE FIRST TIME you fight them just lowers their impact for me especially when there are gaps in the boss fights as you take them down. It should get harder not easier (look to Orenstein and Smogh as an example of it being done right)
Veterans of the series won't have this problem since to them because they're reminded of the times they fought them in older games.
In summary: Nomura thought he wrote himself in a corner and I hope in vain this is looked at in ReMind
@@chrisdaughen5257 there is a problem, the xblade is forged by the confrontation not the kills, for example, 2 of the 9 before the final 3 was forged and nobody was killed(the one with xion and the one with xigbar), so, he cannot fight then before, even if they wasn't defeated at full.
@@DiegoCyberGamerThey could still fight in the earlier levels! the x-blade fragment just wouldn't manifest until they fought at the Graveyard.
Speaking of which, if terranort succeeded in killing everyone before the start of the war, what would the other members of done? Get the princesses of heart 2.0 and fight them to get their respective dark pieces?
@@chrisdaughen5257 he succedded, but sora created a singularity in time and turned back this, but if not, well, 7 would be forge and they needed to use the princess. And the series never says that the forge have to be on KG, it's just because it already happened there and have the space, he could forge in other worlds but he wanted to see the war.
Not only is there no rule that says the need to clash at the graveyard, that's all they have to do, clash. Literally, they touch shafts and they're done. It's actually pretty disappointing and flaccid, really. Especially how the good guys just go along with it.
Hercules grabbing the Tornado makes perfect sense. Did you not watch the movie?
I played through KH3 on the ps4 and, thorughout the entire game, i had never seen the merry-go-round attraction, and had completely forgotten that shot lock existed

"They overworked nomura and viewed him as the golden goose of square enix, leaving him dispassioned and rushed on his baby; KH"
Why does Square have Noruma working in every one of their projects!? That isn't healthy for anyone!
He even fucked that up. Ff7 already had a story and now.... dont even know what to say
Yeah Nomura isn’t off the hook either
Right. When the game is good Nomura is a God, when the game is bad Nomura isn't at fault. Isn't that pretty convenient if you're really invested in this series uh
YES, PLEASE CONTINUE THIS REVIEW!!! FINISH IT! THERE IS SO MUCH I HATE ABOUT THIS GAME AND I WANT IT TO BE KNOOOOOOWN
Kingdom hearts 3 - the game that gave me tendinitis from mashing „X“ the whole fucking time lol
Personally I like combat in this game, what I don't like in this game is the story and the worlds. The story feels like padding, anyone who is really with the organization and isn't Xehanort or Vanitas aside from maybe Luxord (in caribbeans) don't do anything at all.
Saix shows up for the first time right before we go to keyblade graveyard just so that he can be a boss battle.
And the worlds? Somehow they feel more empty than the ones in bbs, Sanftansokyo is literally Hiro's garage and a square with buildings
Don’t want to make him suffer but I want a full series talking about this.
My first experience with KH3 was playing on Critical mode and I personally had a blast.
yeah, I usually understand the argument of "this is what I played", but in this case Soda is technically comparing a vanilla version of a game to a game that also lacked a critical mode on release. Pretty important part when looking at a game where "the only reason to play is the combat" and looking at a game whose complete version added 15 new bosses 8 years later as far as the NA/EU is concerned.
Yeah i was mildly dissapointed with the combat until critical mode came out and made if way more fun actually having to try to beat enemies.
@Unstoppable Plays! DMC3 onwards especially, a series of games that actually makes you feel like you're getting better at it the more you dive into the mechanics. Where you aren't just handed all the flashy cool looking attacks on a silver platter left and right like in KH3. You have to earn the cool special effects through hard work and mastering the nuances of the active style ranking system, a system so damn deep that taunting isn't mere window dressing but a full on combo extender earning you higher scores! Taunts are a key feature of a combat system! How nuts is that?!
@Unstoppable Plays! Its still fun on other difficulty modes it's just way more fun when I am required to learn how to use all the tools in a game effectively (on critical mode) rather than them being flashy options.
@Unstoppable Plays! You know a game is damn good when its biggest flaw _(having too many playable characters and too few stages for them to share)_ isn't even enough of a problem to damper the experience.
No lie really digging your hair looks very nice like that
I honestly did like this game, but you're arguments are entirely valid. Though if you are thinking of continuing (Which I hope you make another video on KH3, please do) ... if you're getting a headache now...prepare yourself. Till then, Take care and a many thanks to you, good sir.
Ngl it lost some steam when it reached arandelle and fucking rise up to 1 million in the final stretch. But then the ending left me flaccid.
I still like the game tho, solid 7-8 i guess
@@AdityaPratama-ls7dv From Anti-Aqua to the Final Boss it's easily my favourite section in the franchise. Too bad Scala was so short.
I really want a part 2 of this video. I'd love to hear what else radical would say about the game.
I love that you kept using the FFX-2 soundtrack throughout this-- I'm not the only one that thinks it's a lovely listen? HALLELUJAH
I think of all the KH games they made, I enjoyed 358/2 days since its what actually got me into the series.
KH has no side games Nomura said it, but idk why they just didn't numbered it in the first place, less confusion would help people understand
@@Alpenmilch at the time I thought it was sorta like a spin-off game about a "what if" scenario, that's why said side game, but you're right, I'll correct that.
@@Alpenmilch KH isn't the only series who does that.
Danganronpa, Metal Gear Solid and Assassin's creed does that too.

Some things are better left forgotten...
Bringing back a bunch of "dead" Organization XIII characters to be enemies was the laziest thing in history.
You know what makes sense? Final Fantasy in Kingdom Hearts. Because Kingdom Hearts is made by the same company.
I stopped KHIII during the Frozen world. I tried picking it up again but I can't stand all the white lol it's sooooooo boring
I AM SO SO SO SO SO GLAD THAT DEVIL MAY CRY 5 WAS ACTUALLY DECENT. STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THAT
he was young sora in DDD cuz he was dreaming
we dont really see outselves as our current selves when we're dreaming
Honestly, a lot of those questions he asked was answered in the games where it happened (young sora in 3d due to time travel shenanigans for example)
Or because they couldn't import Sora's kh2 model into the handheld, and instead had to use the kh1 model
@@BasicXrazor Except that they used the KH2 Sora model for The World That Never Was.
@@Chaos-vm7cy yeah but that was for a cutscene. Isnt the actual in game model and the cutscene model two different thing. Thats why in kh1 and kh2 there's different types of cutscenes: one with fully voiced lines and some characters can emote, and other that used the text bubbles and remain stationery. Im talking more about the ACTUAL game character and not the cutscene version.
@@BasicXrazor The cutscenes itself and the gameplay aren't that different from each other, they are made in the same engine after all, and the cutscenes aren't pre-rendered so there's nothing that could stop them.
They just didn't use the KH2 version of Sora to fight because they didn't wanted to.
After all, they DID use the KH1 sora model for the prologue.
KH2 was made in the same engine, so there's nothing that could stop them from using the model.
Again, they just didn't want to.
Further proof that the cutscenes in KH aren't pre-rendered is a video made by The 13th Vessel which shows the Terra-Xehanort cutscene but with a different camera angle.
could you imagine after the KH 3 title appeared after sora got the gummy phone, end credits just start to play.
I legit got an ad for a mobile kingdom hearts “rhythm” game right after the “how do you destroy a cutscene like this” line and I *legit* thought it was part of the video

Take a shot every time RadicalSoda says "side-game." Have fun! (They're. Not. Side-games. Literally all of them are main-series [except V-Cast, but we don't talk about it...], even the mobile game. I WANT TO DIE.)
Fucking union cross -__-
KH3 was really under whelming, I didn't bother with the DLC. The frozen level was garbage! The boss was fun but it doesn't make up for all the climbing up that damn mountains I had to do! KH2 was okay, but has a really boring slow start. KH1 is to this day still the best in my opinion story, music and gameplay wise. Still salty with how much they destroyed Aero.
Sad u didnt enjoy it but ya I get you. I think Nomura really just wanted to move the game forward out of Disney so he could go full crazy
I mean, the series has been like that since KH2 lol.
@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE ya but even with the crazy (which is what pulled me in btw) it still felt somewhat grounded. Now it's done a complete story shift where u feel Nomura trying to wrap things up so he can tell a different story. And from what we see from the secret movie I'm down. (Plus have you seen the dream theory someone put together freaking crazy. Love it)
Did... did you ask how he forgot the guard?
"Sorry Sora, you can't hold out your fucking Keyblade anymore!"
A fun little tidbit about the “Zero EXP” ability, it gives you extra damage (a lot of it actually) & some damage resistance….to EVERY type of damage. You usually don’t notice these things because you’re expected to equip it at lvl1. But if you’re say…lvl99 when you equip it, you definitely notice.
Also, it’s like this in every game that has it.
“Wait, Donald, look out”
*donald get the smacc*
*Light of Hope starts playing*
Oh I’m really glad to have found this video! I’m one of those weirdos that was drawn in specifically for the stupid convoluted story, and I was able to overlook a lot of flaws up til now but damn KH3 kinda disappointed me. So I loved hearing you review it! I’d love to see more
I drown out the story in most modern games & just hit things to make the numbers go up
Are we all just going to ignore the fact that Sora dabbed at 3:06?
Joshua Padilla Dream Drop Distance is a trip
The first two games feel like an adventure three feels like an advertisement
9:55 LMAO i knew you were going to say floaty before you even mentioned it... it's exactly what I thought when i played KH3 too.
1. 6:49 You complain about twitter page loading screans? Why? it's funny!
2. 11:23 Sora could run on walls before but only in cutscenes so now you can play it and you complain for more gameplay and less cutscenes?
3. 12:25 His stats are low again, he is just LV1, he didn't forget to how to climb cliffs.
4. 15:53 Each party member has an in-game meter constantly filling as you're in battles and when they are alive. When the meter is filled than you'll get a team-up attack for that character. If Sora does certain actions it will fill up their meters faster. If you dodge and guard a lot than you'll fill Goofy's meter. If you attack and use magic a lot than you'll fill Donald's meter. If you activate the ability Team Effort you'll begin the fight with a Disney partner's team-up attack.
5. 16:18 You have subtitles at the bottom of the screen so whatever, I just want to hear the music.
6. 16:30 It's just a joke man. Besides, for every joke the game tries you say ain't a nitpick, but how can you take seriously a series with an anime Mickey? Just accept the wierdness of it.
7. Critical mode makes the special attacks much less frequent, and you can completely disable attractions from ever appearing (except for the Rock Titan and the 10000 heartless fight) thanks to the ability Critical Converter. If you activate this ability than you are always promised to get a transformation, even if you relied more on spells.
8. 19:37 No, it's not pointless, it's for the next game.
9. 20:24 Are... you... really... searching... for... realizm... in Kingdom fucking Hearts??????
10. 20:38 What's bad about wall running? What's bad about formchanges (you just said they aren't drive forms, you didn't say what you dislike about transformations)? What's bad about the new water spell and the stronger spells?
11. 27:14 That is only a problem if the things it introduces are badly implemented. Look at BoTW, you could do a lot of things but they all complement Link and are easy to understand. All the tools in KH3 are very simple (seeing that you only need to press tringle for most of them) and therefore it's easy to understand. And besides, you aren't forced to use everything, it's just that the game rewards you for understanding the mechanics and using all the tools at your disposal.
Play on critical and I swear you will feel better with yourself.
All these trash excuses to defend this game, jesus. And he wasn't asking for realism, he was asking for an explanation as to why Sora can do all the stuff he can do now, even though he's supposed back to square one in this game. And saying that the game gets good with Critical mode honestly just makes the game sound so much worse. If i need to play a specific difficult to have fun, in a game with like 5 difficulties, that's an huge negative.
@@okagron It has 4 difficulties. And what you said is just bullshit. If the game allows you to make it more enjoyable than take it. Some people hate Dark Souls because it's too hard and there's no easy mode. I can just pretend that critical mode is the default and only mode in KH3 and play through it. Many people agreed that KH3 is much better with critical mode so shut up and take the option or just fuck off.
And again, who cares about 100% accuracy in such a dumb franchise (and that comes from a day 1 fan). Limits are not properly explained in KH2 so why TF are you complaining here?
KH3 is a great example of why valve wont make half life 3. XD
"Side games"
Me: They all are part of the story
Edit:

They are still technically side games even if they do matter.
@@fightingmedialounge519 Wouldn't say they are, since Sidegames / Spin offs wouldn't progress the story. That's like saying The Finale of shows are the only story while the episodes are all side stories and not build up for the finale.

Been playing since KH 1. It was great back in the day as a kid. Didn't actually finish it until my second play through due to the last boss fight with the ten minute unskippable cut scene. Played KH 2 and loved it. It have what was great about the first one and made it better. The unknown were good new enemies, drive powers were good but didn't break the game. With 3 though I was SO hype. Had been waiting for a new game since 2 and brought a ps4 basically so I could play it. I got through Tangled and made it to Toy story and the was it. The game took too long to start and that's coming from a guy that loved the cut scenes in the first 2. The combat that I was so used to had changed to something that felt awkward now. It was too easy even for the start of the game. It also didn't feel like the start of the game honestly. So much shit had happened off screen or in side games that are also very different from the main ones. My excitement soon turned into boredom. You barely play the game in the first hour.
In 2 they started adding more double attacks or reaction moves. These were either dodge based or you had to work for them in battle with decent sized wait times. 3 turns your battles into a non stop circus of flashy moves or things that should be saved for summons or something of those natures. Kingdom hearts is/was probably my favorite game series of all time. Having played through 1 and 2 two times with a third time being a guide to a friend I got into the series. I dropped it after like 2 hours. I feel they could have just kept 2's combat system and focused on graphics/animation. The new mechanics should compliment the old not replace them. I also didn't like how they changed interworld travel. It took me like 10 minutes to get to the next world. Rant over
I really hate how much platforming has disappeared and the new run speed. We get movement skills like Flowmotion and Glide, but it doesn't even matter cause you just run there anyway. Especially since you can run up some walls, there could've been some more vertical depth but it just boils down to "Run up wall or jump on high platform"
I'm kinda sad, Kingdom Hearts 3 felt... hollow. I don't understand how to describe it.
Never watched one of your videos before this one but I'll sure be coming back for more! Great stuff, man! Thanks for introducing me to this European JonTron, UA-cam algorithm!
ngl when I first saw the 2.9 joke I almost threw my controller lol.
When Hades is the only good voice actor, we know there's gonna be huge problem.
I think the reason the combat feels floaty is becuase kh1 and 2 were developed by a diffrent team (Tokyo team) meanwhile birth by sleep ,dream drop and kh3 were developed by another one (Osaka Team)
I feel like if this video got the right traction/algorithm, this would be your breakout hit.
I like how clunky and slow the first game is. It's an adventure you can take your time with and enjoy, not a mad whirlwind of particle effects and mashing the triangle button to win.
I honestly had more fun with zero point 2 than 3. Maybe that’s because the gameplay is designed for Aqua’s floaty magic based gameplay from bbs
You can change reaction commands by pressing the left trigger
