I always loved that reveal of "MOM". I still remember the chill it sent down my spine when I heard it. I had been thinking maybe Cain? But I love that moment. I think that the more they cement the fact that this is just a family, the more it cements that Lucifer isn't evil, just a guy with massive family trauma. Also, Lilith is not Lucifer's mom. Biblically, Lilith is the mother of demons. (Maze's mom)
A lot of people erroneously believe that the coin returned to Lucifer because that was God's doing. I don't. The deal was "I'll do as you ask if you protect Chloe." It wasn't "Save me so I can protect Chloe." I believe the Pentecostal Coin returned because the deal was Coin for NOT shooting Lucifer. Once Malcolm shot Lucifer the deal was broken, so the coin went back to Lucifer. Then Lucifer died and went to hell and the coin brought him back to Earth after seeing the empty cell. Lucifer assumed that God was asking to lock Mom back up, but there is no proof God entered a deal or even protected Chloe as part of it. No jammed gun, no tripping of Malcolm, etc. There was no deal made with God, Lucifer only assumes there is one, which makes sense as God doesn't get into physical matters nor does He mess with Free Will. The best God would be willing to do is protect Chloe's Soul anyway, not her physical life/form, which wouldn't be what Lucifer was asking for. So there was no deal.
Anna, you hit on what made this show great: The combination of excellent writing with excellent acting makes you identify with the characters in a way many TV shows and movies don't . . .
season 2 it's amazing ! I understand that we all want to see Dan punished for his sins, but Chloe has opposite feelings about it, because Dan is Trixie's father, and Chloe doesn't want to see her daughter suffer because of her missing father. Let's not forget that Chloe lost her father when she was young, and she doesn't want the same for her daughter.
Fun Fact: The character of Lt. Daniel Espinoza was supposed to be killed by Malcolm Graham, but the writers and producers were so impressed with Kevin Alejandro and what he brought to the character they decided to keep him on.
I liked this show up until this season finale, but this made me love it. Some really unexpected twists and turns that worked really well, and S2 just gets better from here!
Congrats on finishing the first season of Lucifer! I think this season did a fantastic job of setting up the premise of the entire show and season 2 is a fantastic romp that I'll be eagerly awaiting your reactions.
Rewatching season 1 with you has been fantastic fun. You ask all the right questions and pick up on details that make watching with you so enjoyable, I can't wait for season 2! I will definitely be there with you.
Congratulations on finishing your first season of Lucifer ! I think that season 2 is the best season of Lucifer. I am looking forward to watch your reactions. Lilith is not the mother of Lucifer or Amenadiel. But she is part of the universe that Neil Gaimond and others created with their comics. So mayby she will appear in the TV series as well, who knows. I would also recommend the bloopers for Lucifer season one. The scene where Amenadiel asks Lucifer "Who escaped hell ?" is hillarious !
What bothered me about the previous episode was when Lucifer and Chloe went to her place, Trixie was asleep. Where was the babysitter? Then, when Trixie went back to sleep, they left, leaving Trixie. Alone. No babysitter. Did that bother anyone else?
Also when Dan was captured by Malcolm. Malcolm texted Chloe from Dan's phone and we see Chloe end up drunk spending the night at LUX with Lucifer - so who was taking care of Trixie then?
3:24 I mean, as a writer myself, I can't try to guess what random stuff a reader or audience member is going to randomly pull out of thin and air and inexplicably fixate on. Genuinely no one can predict every conceivable possible interpretation of their work; they just have to make do with what the average, reasonable audience will pick up on and understand.... Don't get me wrong, there was one reactor I followed, whom I adore, who while watching Buffy season 7 picked up on one word that one of the characters said once or twice within the first episode or two and decided there was some elaborate deeper meaning that they kept fixating on for like, a third of season, before finally realizing that it was basically a conspiracy theory they had concocted for themselves. And it was hard for their followers to try and get them off of that track, without giving spoilers or something. But there were literal context clues in the previous episode of Lucifer; particularly the fact that the daughter and dad had been estranged, which is hard to do if you're living together.
In the beginning of the show I said that Chloe had two chips on her shoulder. Making her very stiff. This is the removal of the Palmetto chip. The other one won't be long. But she'll relax a bit starting season 2. Edit: for autocorrect corrections.
So much happens in this episode, seeing Lucifer and Amenadiel working together is fun as is seeing Chloe and Maze, as for mum she you'll just have to wait and see what she's like. I love S2 the characters grow a lot and it just gets crazier, I can't wait to see your reactions to it. See you next time.
Great episode and great reaction again, oh so envious of what you have yet to come, just like i said keep an eye out episode 1x09, episode 2x06 and 7. Strap in it's about get bumpy.
There's also the probability that she's renting a furnished house. We don't know what her familie's economic status is. Just that her father and her were not really communicating and he knew very little about her personal life
No spoiler - but this series wrapped up really well. You'll enjoy the ride, 100%. There are a couple clunker's.. I mean this is series television, even with the reduced episode count... But overall, this series doesn't disappoint.
The great thing about Lucifer, is that its designed for short attention spans... All of your questions will be answered in the next few episodes.... The one thing I wish they would have explored more is "And to think I nearly killed you in your sleep that one time" ... If I were Chloe I would want to expand on that one a little... I know they were rudely interrupted by a shotgun, but still, I think Chloe wouldn't let that one go so easily...
Nah, your rationale on Rosie is not always true. I was on my own from 16 on, and by 21 was renting whole houses with a friend or two. She could easily have been working and rented the upstairs of a house with an attic, on her own. But I do get your point. There are some plot holes in season 1. But these writers and show runners get it all coherent and woven into an intricate tapestry of many threads thereafter. So listen close, because some threads begin with a single line or quip and only surface again much later. Oh and where the heck does the myth get a mom??? It's not from the Old Testament, rather from the Torah where many side stories abide.
If you go back really far, Jahweh/Jehovah (the God of Israel / a god of Cana'an) was the god of war and storms in a larger pantheon, he also had a wife, Asherah. Asherah was the goddes of the sea and the Great Mother. Lillith was the first wife of Adam, because the bible starts with two creation stories that differ in weird ways. The first wife was made at the same time as Adam, the second was made from his rib/side. So early jewish scholars eypanded upon the story and created Lillith and why she's not Adams wife anymore.
So, just 1 episode away from getting to know Ella Lopez aka "adult Trixie", and no, "Mom" is not Lilith (she is more like Mazes mom) but Cylon Number Six 😂 And after the initial thoughts i now really want you to watch Episode 1 of "Fallout" since for me the whole marriage story at the beginning just didn't made sense at all and there were so many question to me about "why .. ?" that so far nobody else anybody seems to have a problem with. For me however it was too much, and together with the following gore (that i'm not a fan of) after all this totally nonsense .. i just stopped watching. Maybe i must just start rewatching after that and ignore all of the beginning, and just start after Lucy goes out of the bunker ? .. not sure.
If you want to know who Mom is without any spoilers, you can look into Jewish mythology. In the older Jewish and Canaanite mythology, God (aka El) had a queen consort... And, uh... if you're waiting for people to realize he's really the devil... you'll be waiting awhile 😅 (Inb4 commenters yelling at me: no, saying "it'll take awhile for X to happen" is not a spoiler, chill.)
The spoiler or not spoiler all depends on if you are of the school of thought that "It'll take a while for X to happen" removes the "it never happens" from the list of possibilities. A Spoiler doesn't just circle the correct option on a list, a spoiler can cross something off the list.
@@ChibiHoshiDragon Anyone who thinks a show like this would go 6 full seasons without that ever happening with ANY other character... has never watched a TV show before.
@@IceMetalPunk It is possible to have zero find out like it is a possibility that everyone will. There is also the fact some shows will have the reveal at the very end. Generally the first is unlikely but not improbable and there are several combinations of who finds out vs who stays in the dark and when. But using the plural does not just take the "zero find out" off the table but also removes "only one finds out." Even if an option is unlikely, it is still crossing that option off the list. And some people believe crossing one option off the possible list is still a spoiler. Hence why I said *"school of thought"* It would be like saying, "Not everyone finds out" or "The reveals are staggered." Some people think those are spoilers because the first crosses' off "Everyone finds out" and the second crosses off "season finale reveal" while others think to be a spoiler you have to reveal B doesn't find out or it has to reveal the order. It all depends on the school of thought one holds.
3 things to say that are spoilers but also opinions. (1) Amenadiel is a much better character post season 1. He becomes my favorite character after season 1 especially his character arc. (2) Wait until season 4 or 5 when a demon blade is melted down to make bullets that kill both demons and angels. It is sadly only used in 2 episodes and it is basically a side note not a plot. (3) In both the show and comics to a degree, sins technically don’t matter. When someone dies with guilt or grief or the focus on a specific sin then they go to hell at least for a regular person. Hell and heaven is also not permanent but that is last season territory. Side note in the show, a little later Lucifer confirmed that Trump is going to hell. For a second in the background in hell in the last season you see Trump being tortured in hell. The show does get political now and again.
Well, it's unclear there whether he is definitely going to hell or going to die. And - Anna specifically asks every time NOT to give spoilers, so please don't give more.

Yes yes yes 😊😊😊
most people don't catch the fact that Malcolm reneged on his deal with Lucifer, which is how Lucifer got back the coin
A lot of people erroneously believe that the coin returned to Lucifer because that was God's doing.

Finally, a reactor who's got her priorities straight.
Anna, you hit on what made this show great: The combination of excellent writing with excellent acting makes you identify with the characters in a way many TV shows and movies don't . . .
I love when we see Amenadiel and Lucifer actually get along. It's beautiful. 😄
The line I like best on this episode is:
"I thought you were dead!"
"Oh, I was!
I got better."
season 2 it's amazing !
I understand that we all want to see Dan punished for his sins, but Chloe has opposite feelings about it, because Dan is Trixie's father, and Chloe doesn't want to see her daughter suffer because of her missing father. Chloe punching Dan and yelling at him for gaslighting her = golden moment. And well deserved.
I did appreciate him turning himself in, though.
"I wanna address the disparity between what kind of living situation a person could reasonably afford..."
FRIENDS has entered the chat...
it is stated in the first Episode of friends that Monica's grandma owns the apartment she lives in.
NO SPOILER - Tom Ellis said that he once had a BIG CRUSH on the actress who plays Mom which makes it hysterical to watch their interactions 😆🤣
Who doesn't have a huge crush on her? I know I do to this day!
I more crush on maze
Not sure if you've noticed or not, but every episode title is said during the episode
Fun Fact: The character of Lt. Daniel Espinoza was supposed to be killed by Malcolm Graham, but the writers and producers were so impressed with Kevin Alejandro and what he brought to the character they decided to keep him on.
18:20 I think the idea is that he can't heal himself, only others.
Maybe, but remember that Amenadiel lost his wings so he has no feathers to use IF he could have healed himself

So far Lucifer has saved Chloes life 3 times. On the first episode, then out of a fire building and now by asking his father to protect Chloe.
I do love all the questions you ask. You are asking good questions.
Rewatching season 1 with you has been fantastic fun. You ask all the right questions and pick up on details that make watching with you so enjoyable, I can't wait for season 2! I will definitely be there with you.

10K Subscribers. Congrats, Anna. That is not a surprise to me, and probably to your other viewers. Keep going. 👍👍
Ok, season 1, done. Awesome posts, Anna. And thank you for sharing your reactions with us. PLEASE, season 2. Please. LOL
Congratulations on finishing your first season of Lucifer !

Rosie's probably had an inheritance from the most likely dead mother. Can't confirm just feels good enough.
There's also the probability that she's renting a furnished house. We don't know what her familie's economic status is. Just that her father and her were not really communicating and he knew very little about her personal life
Sachant ce qui va arriver dans la suite des épisodes, vos théories m amusent beaucoup , j adore .... continuez comme ça
Maybe Anna should be framed for murder; she is killing these reactions!
I hope you love season 2 as much as I did. You will just love Mum 😜
Lucifer will help you with the problem of "being pulled out of the story" or "overthinking it" . Eventually.
No spoiler - but this series wrapped up really well. You'll enjoy the ride, 100%. There are a couple clunker's.. I mean this is series television, even with the reduced episode count... But overall, this series doesn't disappoint.
💜💜 thanks for reacting
Je serai là pour la deuxième saison , j ai déjà vu 6 fois la série Lucifer mais j aime beaucoup vos réactions devant les episodes
Merci!
8:22 This part I don’t get. Yeah Dan was selfish for keeping it all a secret, but blasting Malcom when he was gonna hurt Chloe was a good thing.
I think you'll love Mom. Best character in the whole series.

You asked some great questions in your outro. I'm not going to answer them because they're a secret.
Great questions though
Overall a great season ender, but I would have liked to have seen Malcolm's return to hell.
First for the Finale!
Your awesome so it's great
One season down, five more fantastic seasons to go . . .
😂😂❤❤
