Regarding the topic discussed in the earlier part of the video. My favourite videos of Peter's are definitely the ones where he is playing in the local PGA comps. Especially if I have played the courses involved eg. Stand, pike fold, heysham etc. More of them please.
Love the viewpoint that you're the talent. That's exactly right. It's entertainment. Some folks are just able to connect with wide audiences and some not. Consumers form their own echo chambers and will watch things that just resonate with them.
Love to watch 18 hole strokeplay video, but I really think weather has a bearing on the way viewers think about it. Watching you guys play in the wind and rain is (for whatever reason) less enjoyable than Watching you knock it around in the sunshine 😎 I understand that cost of production is an issue, (and the UK weather) but planning for more fair weather visit would definitely give a feel good factor. Keep your vids coming guys, so much better than the rest of the s**t on the TV!
I like the high production videos, but I really like the old stuff too ! Its a shame that the pressure is on you so much to keep upping the quality . appreciate what youre doing
100% I’m still amazed watching Og course vlogs, finch, fresher, carter and Shiels, taking in then to hold the phone round the e course was so engaging and genuine, you had Shiels being the only one trying to be professional and add some narrative but the genuine banter and chat was so good the camera work is irrelevant.
It's about variety. There are hundreds of channels on TV: History, Sports, Hallmark, Discovery, Home Repair, Cooking.. you have to find the golf niche that fits your audience. They're all so worried.. but they SHOULD be if they're all the same. Then there is competition. Stand out, excel at a thing, and you'll be successful.
Talking about video production while the loudest coffee maching is going bonkers in the background 😂😂😂 That in itself is decent content lol Get a UK USA mini comp with you two carter & rick v Bryan Bros Perez & Grant That’ll do numbers.
I turned off at " I'm not going to get through the second stage qualifying." Comments like that will make me not want to watch the series of the qualifying for the Open next year, Peter got a good telling off by Padraig this year about his negative comments about his own game, we all completely understand you guys are human, however you need to keep us engaged, believe me I love the work you are all putting out. I have so enjoyed Peters content with all the lads recently.....amazing ❤
Not sure were U Tube golf goes once everyone has played each other in multiple formats interest will decline but enough will remain for the bigger smarter channels to still make a decent living.
You’re missing a lot of why Bryson is doing it. He doesn’t need the money, he has said many times and I believe him that he is doing it for the love of the game and to try and expand golf. The pga was dying before liv came around, viewership was terrible, the players were making a fraction that they are now, a simple thank you would suffice. And dont get me wrong, I’m not a huge liv fan. Even Rory is back peddling now. Just as you guys are growing the game. I watch both of your content, and you guys are killing it. Keep it up.
Yeps, ... and he started it to present himself as the view in the media was not what he recognised of his view. With his channel he could control the narrative. Loved it how he does it. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I think a lot of people (myself included) watch celebrities who've turned to youtube because it shows the real side of them, their real personality shines through and isnt jaded by what the media want you to think of them. That's what worked for Bryson. I think regardless of the money Rory would benefit from that.. or maybe he wouldn't!!.. some puppets don't work when the strings are cut 😂.
The word 'content' is a disservice to Peter and the top level UA-camrs. They are film makers. They are making entertainment. They are routinely producing films of 90 mins. Peter and Rick and those with big channels won't be hurt by an expanding audience - they are 'grandfathered' in so will benefit from the explosion of channels.
Until someone gets the subscription of every human on earth, you cant worry about the possibility of losing new people going to other channels because of over saturation. The whole concept of these channels is to grow subscribers and get views, there are still billions of opportunities out there so any chance to bring in people from multiple avenues is always going to be to your benefit. In the recent Solina series, I was shocked at the amount of people that commented about not knowing/watching Peter, and to a lesser extent, Rick. You never know where you are going to get exposure and recommended videos.
Video length is also important. I've been noticing more videos 90-120 minutes in length. I'm generally not going to watch those. The 30-65 minute is the sweet spot for me.
The main problem is the same content year on year. Start of the year driver comparisons of the usual suspects later on throw in a couple of lesser known drivers and then the same for iron's. Finally it's the same on putters.
Why are we invested? Because we've been following you both for years and want you to do well you blinkin' numpties...🙄😋 I don't think you quite realise that UA-cam golf is more important than Sky golf, LIV golf etc...nowadays and you guys are the future of the game for a potentially HUGE audience.
I'd add to that since Pete is not a. Professional golfer in the sense of playing on tour and being fully invested in being the best golfer he can be to compete on the PGA, DP World or LIV tour, his struggles, mental and physical, in the competitions are so much more relatable to us amateurs who play in weekend competitions at whatever level we are. We know the joy, we know the pain, we know the idiocy of loving golf and genuinely want someone like Pete, who is so genuine on the golf course, to do well.
I don't watch 'professional' golf any more. Find it boring as hell. Rory and Bryson et al make my eyes roll back in my head - I don't give a flying eff about them or their game. Give me some good players who make mistakes I can relate go and have a sense of humor and relatability and I'll watch.
I think the fourball of Carter, Fryer, Finch and Shiels takes a lot of beating. But they all have different objectives and characters. I hope it’s not nostalga talking. Anyway, will still follow all 4 for their different contents
Let’s be honest, no one cares about Carter or Fryer in the USA, Finch is a bit of a footnote and Rick is semi popular. Bryson, Wes, George, Grant and even Phil Mickelson will simply leave these guys behind in the next couple of years.
UA-cam golf is bigger for the golf Industry than professional golf. From club choices to courses that play, it’s all from UA-cam. Similar to professional football, the money is killing the top level for the average person.
The reason I like you tube golf is because it is NOT the pros, I think Bryson actually hurts you tube channels... if I want to watch pros I will watch the tour.
Bryson is immense but it’s not his living these guys pay bills with UA-cam Bryson taking food out these peoples plates potentially I like him though he’s great lad
21:23 You do UA-cam golf for a living yetbyou cant practice for few hours a week? Like wtf the reason Grant is so popular because in the end people wanna see some real skill. People with full tile jobs and family can put in few hours a week.
The days of watching pretty average golfers on UA-cam like Pete and Rick are numbered and will drop in popularity. Rick’s views are down 7% year on year. Watching stuff from Bryson, the Bryans and even Grant is much better than what Pete and Rick put out. Their content hasn’t evolved much in the last couple of years, it’s stale and going to places like Solina or the Fairmont and pumping out 20 videos just doesn’t do it. There needs to be some proper original content or more people will simply switch off.
Great chat lads. Enjoyed listening ⛳️🙌🏼🎥
I am so impressed by Peter's business sense. He's so knowledgeable. Wow. Thanks for sharing this.
That was a genuinely interesting insight into how UA-cam works from you and Peter "The Talent" Finch.
Dont be disengious fellas, people view because it is free and its relatable on different levels.

Nice ... guitar. 🎸🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
I just love to see you guys playing golf, because you are the same as me... I can see my self in both of you and you are funny and human.
Grant H , Bryson and Bryan bros are taking it to the next level
You have to go with them

It’s inevitable the space will get more crowded

It's great for the viewer, harder for creators. Have to lean into what you do best: personality, production value, course variation.
Not sure were U Tube golf goes once everyone has played each other in multiple formats interest will decline but enough will remain for the bigger smarter channels to still make a decent living.

10:30 people are invested in watching comps to see Pete duff it about and miss Open Qualifying by a mile, again.
Video length is also important. I've been noticing more videos 90-120 minutes in length. I'm generally not going to watch those. The 30-65 minute is the sweet spot for me.

Why are we invested? Because we've been following you both for years and want you to do well you blinkin' numpties...🙄😋

UA-cam golf is better entertainment than professional golf. You get to hear their thought processes on why and where they hit their shots.
guessing matt is not a fan of Rick haha left him off every list
Creators will be weeded out. Hopefully.
I don't watch 'professional' golf any more. Find it boring as hell. Rory and Bryson et al make my eyes roll back in my head - I don't give a flying eff about them or their game. Give me some good players who make mistakes I can relate go and have a sense of humor and relatability and I'll watch.

Why don't you do record breakers at famous courses in Europe? top 3 courses in a country during one week, 3 countries per year?
Dp you not think that a channel with old tech would stand out now
UA-cam golf is bigger for the golf Industry than professional golf. From club choices to courses that play, it’s all from UA-cam. Similar to professional football, the money is killing the top level for the average person.
In short, I don't want anyone else on this free platform because they'll steal my numbers.
But did Margaret win the bridge?
I will never watch Bryson due to his relationship with trump. You guys on the other hand..... keep up the great work
😂😂😂

Creators just copy each other now all trying to cash in getting boring now
Trump more views all day long!!
