Do you mean HDI container on premise or by XSA container do you mean deploying the CAP application to the XSA Node.js or Java Runtime? Both are possible with XSA, but depending upon what you want to do I can direct you to different resources.
@@sapdevs We are having On Premise XSA environment. So I mean the HDI container on premise. Can you also guide on how to deploy the CAP application to XSA on-premise system(NodeJS)? Thank You in Advance.
XSA is esentially an on premise version of Cloud Foundry. It supports the MTAR format for deployment as well. You can follow the CAP guides for deploying to CF and just change the anywhere the command says cf to xs. cap.cloud.sap/docs/guides/deployment/to-cf There is also an SAP provided sample for moving pre-CAP xsa applications to CAP and using them on XSA: github.com/SAP-samples/xsa-cap-migration
@@sapdevs Thank You for your reply. The db module which we have in hana-shine-cap, how can we run it locally in VS Code by connecting the XSA on premise HDI container. Is it possible to build the hana-shine-cap locally using HANA XSA as database?
You can develop locally using a default-env.json to connect to the remote HANA DB instance. Unfortunately you can't use the newer `cds bind` approach as that only works for Cloud bindings. I wrote some about this here - you can actually do HDI without XSA as well: blogs.sap.com/2019/04/16/developing-with-hana-deployment-infrastructure-hdi-without-xsacf-or-web-ide/ But you can also use XSA with the default-env.json as described above. This is why I originally developed the hana-cli tool to help in such situations: github.com/SAP-samples/hana-developer-cli-tool-example
Hello Thomas, Is it possible to connect SAP HANA XSA container to CAPM project?
