  • I know I could've done a draw my life, but I felt that this was just a better way to explain my childhood story.

One day I will go back to the town I'm from, and hopefully find out what happened to those other 18 beautiful girls.
Just wanted to get this off my chest I've had a few individuals say that the only reason they wouldn't adopt is because the child would not look like them. So what? It's your upbringing that will shape them into the beautiful individuals you see in your future kids. Looks do not matter, what matters is giving that child a loving home. This is why adoption is amazing.
    Love has no boundaries.
Just added this into a comment, in case I'm adding it here:
Just something I wanted to share, which I shared underneath a comment. I know you might be wondering that even though I told my parents I can't share them, I realized later on. I was 6 at that time, and at 16 I told my parents lets do it... I really want a brother or sister. My parents sat me down and explained how they were going to already adopt no matter what. When I was 9 years old, my mother's health had worsened, plus there were some unexpected situations. I know the people who know me and have watched this video, know about my mother's health. I also want all of you to have an idea, because in this video I was open and honest, and I want to continue that with you all. Thank you for all the love, and your kind words.
Also there is someone really important who is involved with this story. My uncle, mom's brother in law, travelled back and forth from Delhi to Ambala to get my adoption papers fully done. It took a total of 9 months, but he kept going tirelessly. So thank you Ranjeet Uncle. Without you, I wouldn't be here.
Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed the story!

I don't know why my Pinned post disappeared because I changed management, but I guess I will re-post this. Also I had responded to so many comments under this video over a 1000, and sadly those replies are all gone as well. Anyways Something I didn't say in the video was that regardless my parents were going to adopt another child. My mom's health had worsened hence why I didn't get a sibling. I was 6 years old when I joked I don't want a brother, of course I WAS 6! I was ready to share everything, but my parents. Sometimes kids aren't ready for another child, but when that child comes they just become ready. Hopefully that explains it.

The word "parents" doesn't mean the people who made you the word "parents" means the people who love and care about you and would take risks for you that's what I think the word "parent" means.

Hey Tia, I am adopted too. My parents couldn't get pregnant and so opted for adoption.
All I know was about my birth mother is that she was a teen when she got pregnant with me and she had to give me away. My parents were told that I was born in the orphanage itself.
Both my parents used to live in Doha, Qatar. My mom told me that she had come over to Mumbai and saw a beautiful little girl. She loved her dearly and really wanted her. But because of some rules she and my dad had to go through some course in and while they were learning to be new parents, the child that they wanted was taken by another couple. They waited for around 2 years more until they got a call from the same orphanage saying that they had a lucky baby girl waiting just for them. Due to official reasons my parents couldn't come to see me or the other girls. They sent my Aunty (my mom's sister) and her Husband (My Uncle) to decide on whether they should take me or not. My Uncle, saw me and instantly connected to me. He said he just stood there and was playing with me. He knew he just wanted to take me home.
Soon all the paper work was done and on 8th December, 1993 I was given a house, a family and a name.
Because of a lot of legal reasons, my parents couldn't take me back with the to Doha until around 1995. But my aunt, my uncle and my cousins and their kids kept me company and they would even et me talk to my mom and dad on the phone every day. Finally, in March, 1995 I was on my first ever flight heading to Doha.
Like you, I was also malnourished as a baby. Since I was born in July, and the facilities at the orphanage weren't all that good at the time, me and a lot of other babies contracted pneumonia. Many of these other babies started to die one by one and I was the only infant/new born who survived. I was nicknamed "lucky".
Most people say that you shouldn't tell your kids that they are adopted until they were 18. But my parents made it a point to instil this thought in me so that I wouldn't have to find out from some one else.
For the first 4-6 years of my life I weighed 10kgs only (P.S. My first words after "mama" and "dada"). To add to my parents pressure, I had a very small appetite and would always end up puking before I even finished my entire plate.
At age 3, my parents took me to the doctor, for my regular check up and to ask about my weight and basic things like that. They were told that I have Thalassemia minor and that I would have to take care of my health because along with that I have a very weak immune system.
At age 6, on a vacation back in India, I woke up one winter morning with my right elbow stuck in an L-shape. I could barely move it. This started happening every day. Once we returned back to Doha, it still continued, this worried my parents even more and we rushed to the hospital to find out why this was happening. My parents and I were told that I had Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Since that day up until I was 13 years old, I had to go every month to the hospital for regular check ups and I had to get my blood tested every month too. If I was not responding to medicines (which happened a lot), the un-responding joints in my body had to be given an injection, right on the bone with a needle that was somewhere between a 0.5mm to a 0.7mm. More if it had to be given on my knee.
I saw tears in the eyes of my mother as she helped me learn to walk again. I started to curse the day I was adopted. She wasn't my mom. She didn't have to go through all of this. There were many times back then when I thought that she could just send me back and exchange me with a healthier baby. She could've easily just given me back.
One day I asked her why she she suffered through it all. Why didn't she take me back to where I came from and just left me there. What she said to me was like a slap on the face. A slap filled with a lot of love. "I never even thought of it".
Today. after watching your video I asked my mom the same question again. She looked at me and said, "You didn't come into this world from me. You came for me. You are God's gift and I would never return His gift". She saw me tear up and she wanted to cheer me up so she said "Plus, I didn't have the receipt." I must admit, that was a good joke, but one with a lot of love.
I am 23 now and I will forever be grateful of these four beautiful souls I call my parents, my aunty and my uncle.

Everytime I watched like this, children who were so lucky with their adoptive parents, I felt so jealous.
I am also an adopted child, my real mom is our housemaid in my foster parents. Unluckily I didn't have a lucky life like yours.
My adoptive parents got 3 kids aside from me and I am the 3rd child in the family. It is way different treatment when I was there, a lot of pressure and suicidal thoughts or leaving the house.
Everytime I do some sorts of mistakes my mom almost killed me. Example, I steal like money knowing, I am still aren't aware of my actions, coz I am a kid. My mom would burn my hand or hammer my hand.
If I tell lies or take blames from my other siblings, she will have me kneel down on salt "like me squat for hours, until my knees bleed".
I am a slow learner, my mom's patience is just too short so if I don't get my lessons at once, my mom would hit me with arnis(a wooden stick) and you would see me go to school with bulky legs and bruises, where only my grade 3 teacher got a concern of me to always take me to the hospital.
Those days, in my young age I WANTED TO DIE FOR GOOD. I always runaway from home, but they can always see me, and remembered one time, my mom sending me out of the house with no clothes, when I was in grade 4.
Those bad memories when I was younger continued until I reach university.
I even worked for this family when I was in grade 6, selling Bread on streets, and one time I gave up and told my mom I wont do it "she told me I dont have the rights to stop working, if I really do care about the family."
Seeing my other siblings happy living compared to mine was devastating in my heart.
It doesn't stop there, many things had happened in my life, which I regret.
One thing I am thankful of is my adoptive mom taught me how to be strong, to read and write. She gave me education, until grade 6. I did the rest by my own and a little help from my real mom.
I found my real mom when I was 22 in facebook, we are not that close, coz she got her own family already.
Now that I am 30, I am somehow satisfied to where I am now. I am now a teacher here in Thailand.
My name also have an indian name KRISHNA

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame”

This brought me to tears :( I was also adopted & people would always make fun of me for it & saying negative shit about my parents not wanting me. I'm glad you're telling this story it's very inspirational

Tia Bhatia I was super open about it too, my parents told me at a young age & said now I have 4 parents who love me instead of 2 like most people. I felt lucky but people made me feel ashamed. Some days I feel like the odd ball out because I'm adopted & in my head I feel like Im the only one! But I know I'm not, & the funny thing is my brother is also adopted from the same place just different parents! So we're similar but we aren't blood related! Some days I feel like I'm super lucky & I feel like I don't deserve these parents because they are super loving & sweet, I really truly love your story :) & I also love the thumbnail & the dress you're wearing is super pretty 😍

Even i will one day adopt a baby girl.
And i have already talked to my parents and my fiance regarding this... And that one day will surely come very soon... Because i Believe if every couple who are enough capable of giving a good life to a child..both emotionally and financially...should adopt atleast one child... And if this really happend...there will be no more orphanages... In this world...and there will be no child without parents... And this world will become the most Peaceful in real terms... Because happiness is not just being yourself happy...it is on seeing....and making others happy....love you Tia...i.hope to meet u someday...in my life...Insha Allah
