    EPISODE 2 - May 16th
The plants have been in the ground around 10 days, and are 33 days old. The main vines are close to touching down on the ground so I adjust the stakes to ease them down gently and ensure the vines don't snap. It's been a little windy so the stakes help protect from gusts too. Although the plants are growing well the leaves are a light green. I'd prefer them to be a darker green, so I gave them some soluble fertilizer. We'll see if they react to that.

Your videos have inspired me to grow my own. I have 2 plants that are just a bit smaller than yours. Happy growing

Why do you prefer overhead watering to drip irrigation? Thanks I’m advance!

I definitely see the benefits of drip irrigation, but I found it to be a pain to set up and made weeding and burying the vines more difficult. I think I'm in the minority though

Good luck! I would love to see one of these giants being grown on top of a weight scale so you could track the daily gains. I bet on a good day it could be gaining 100 lbs.

I'd like to do that some year. 100 lbs would be a stretch, but based on estimates my maximum 1 day growth last year was 62 lbs

How long does it take for your pumpkins to reach full size???? They are amazing! What do you do with them after the fair?

Thank you! The pumpkins themselves take around 100 days to grow, but they gain most of their size in the first 70 days. From seed start to pumpkin harvest it takes about 5 1/2 months

It looks like you got good soil to plant were you live. Were I live the soil is just horrible, I have to buy soil to plant anything.
