I own these boots. I've had them for a year. They are great looking boots. No cushioning so not very comfortable. You will get calluses on your feet when running in them to the point of limping. Also, it is a huge effort putting them on and taking them off with the laces only. If they get wet and dry out they squeak. It's okay but for the price you get there are better boots. It looks great though and is 100% tactical.
Been waiting for a review of these. I'm glad they come in a wide fit too. I wish Solomon made more wide fitting tactical shoes and boots then just one or two.
First, you shouldn't be running in these unless you absolutely need to or you'll wreck your joints. I put a cushioned footbed in them because there's not much there out of the box. They're not designed for running so much but for the military. And, in the military, we mostly ruck in our boots. If you think these boots are heavy, think again. They're very lightweight even compared to my Rocky and Lowa boots. The regular fit is narrow so I went up 1/2 size and will see how they hold up. I can already tell they'll need some time to break in properly but that's fine. Durability remains to be seen but the stitching and seams appear to be solid.
@@Mustard73 So far so good. I took them on a week-long Ex and they did well. I did have to switch them out about day 4 because they got wet and started giving me blisters (very narrow at the heel). They don’t have the same support of my Lowa Desert elites but for a straight ruck March they’d be okay. Again, make sure they don’t rub or have any hot spots first.
@@ScottKSargent what boot would you recommend if you need to be running especially with gear on, I might need to try the Solomon Gaurdians in real life, I planned on getting them online, but seems like if I wanna avoid issues I better not.
Great video. Very thorough. I just bought these and I'm glad I came here. I was forced to buy a half size up so I was happy to hear you say to buy half size up.

Good enough for me 😂

It’s been six months how are the boots holding up for you?

If you can't run in these isn't it a bad military boot? I'm not a army person I wouldn't know
@@superjohnsmith7070 you can run of course! It’s just not a good idea to do it a lot while training, especially when carrying a lot of weight.

I love my Salomon Quest 4D boots. Would be great if they made these military ones as a winter boot.
