This part is so nostalgic. Me and my cousins would try this over and over for what felt like hours until we got it. It’s crazy how easy this looks now compared to when I was little😂
God this was hard back in the day, we had 2 controllers too, we always got our big brother to do it, and he always plays as Gingy cause thats his favorite.
Did the same for my brother but it was still SO DAMN HARD. It got the to point where Gingy was the only one still alive and we were just holding our breath as I got through.
The key to this level is knowing the buttons on your controller and rhythm. Also, good memory too. I loved this level either way. It was one of the hardest other than Donkey's Hero Time. Me and my siblings would always die at the "One Life Down, Eight To Go". Ginger and Red's move are awesome at that last part too. Those two are amazing.
I remember being stressed at this level(the music and how dramatic it was didn't help-), but I loved it! Just...make sure you look down at the controller every so often so you don't mess up.
Funny I actually had to have my cousin beat it for me twice (game data got deleted and I was 7). First time she let everyone but red die then won second time she perfected him
Thank god I’m not the only one who struggled with the button mashing. I remember after like 10 attempts I was just getting ready to break my game cube and started crying because this lvl was so difficult. I went into a fit of rage and started smacking every button and then finally beat it
Ahh all the memories are flowing back, this was the hardest level for me and I always had to have my dad to help me. I remember after this level you would get to play as puss sometimes and I always loved playing as him, in fact, I still have this game but my ps2 is giving out on me. I miss this game a ton
I saw a vid of this one tiktok as “what’s the hardest video game level in history” I literally gasped and dropped my phone, the memories of countless attempts and asking my parents to pass the level for me came flooding back in a information overload.
Oh the memories...my siblings and I had a hard time on this level...I remember being the only one alive in the last round and completing the level and the rest was semi-smooth sailing-two siblings wanted to be Puss in Boots but the elder sibling had to let it go to the younger one...
I was 6 when I first played this. Puss in Boots felt impossible, It took me like an entire week to get that shit. Specifically the second round with Donkey. The Cat yell that he does haunts me to this day.
I always liked switching to Lil Red in this chapter lol I think she had the best fight animations and her button combinations were always different and slightly more difficult than everyone else's. I remember when I was older, I would intentionally kill the other 3 and just do the whole chapter as Lil Red LOL
I remember having to give my brother the controller to do this one when I was little. He couldn't do it, so all of my brothers and cousins began challenging each other to do this boss hahaha
I absolutely hated this boss fight as a kid because my button timing was absolutely horrible back then and this guy had a ton of health. Why did this level have to be so hard and early in the game? It could’ve just acted out like a regular Boss fight instead of just a quick time event fight.
I was so used to a Nintendo console, when I was playing this at a friend, I could neved get used where the buttons were. It was a great experience to watch him breeze through all phases Also, interestingly I was aware that the graphics in game were not the same as in the movie, but I also kind of accepted it, and thought games could never live up to the potentional as dedicated movies, times have changed now.
Unironically, Puss in Boots had the deepest Boss HP bar I've ever fought against as a kid. Legendary long battle that tested and improved my timing skills as a child.
I love how Lil Red was the badass of this game, a shame this version wasn't in the shrek movies (specially with the princesses in shrek the third) Love her different dodging of Puss' atacks, mostly her twirl. And the different kicks she uses on him
I remember this part... Me and my sis playing until the 3rd part where she'd hand me her controller and I'd clear it. I never had much trouble with this part.
Always used to be my favourite level as a kid. In the ps2 version though, for some reason whenever I would replay it after beating the game on a save file, Puss would go down in like 5 hits. Did anybody else ever get this glitch?
Don't know why people think this game is so hard all you have to do is go with the rhythm and knowing what buttons are used I f****** love watching this level
I remember playing this level, and it took probably 3 or 2 attempts to beat it. But this was easy to me, and when I'm listening to this song in the level, I have to press the correct button to the rhythm.
Out of all of the characters used in this level, I like Gingy and Red the most. Gingy looks like he's about to fence with Puss (Even though he's armed with a candy cane) and Red just seems to have fluid animations, I mean, C'mon, she basically does a Prima Abscond, Jo for one of her dodge anims.
UA-cam is great because you can be thinking of some random game from your childhood more than a decade ago and almost be guaranteed somebody has uploaded footage of it, recently.
As someone who's first video game was SA (the OG on Dreamcast) at like 5 years old, this music was burned in my brain as a kid because It was one of the bosses I enjoyed the most while having little trouble. He wasn't hard by any stretch (the wonky hitboxes of older games during more "free moving" bosses made them much harder imo). However it was pretty unique by the time's standards (QTE bosses that were not in low-key arcade games like "Dragon's Lair" were uncommon at the time).
Hardest part of game as a child. The memories are overwhelming
this was easy to me
+K'Maya Smith no no no this was torture
+The Thingy torture
so true man
I was younger than you when I played this
This part is so nostalgic. Me and my cousins would try this over and over for what felt like hours until we got it. It’s crazy how easy this looks now compared to when I was little😂
SAMEEE
I couldn't beat it now I don't have a game cube anymore 😭😭😞
Factsssss
I still cant beat it😢😂, I mean I just ALMOST got him but I died. I'm watching this video now. I need my coordination needs to get better
So many memories I was stuck on this shit for like a whole month
same as me bro lol XD
Souhib Bas I had my cousin beat it for me lol
Jeremie Mickens same
Diego Villa I was younger
Diego Villa I used cry when I couldn't beat most of the hero times
This was my fave level of this whole game and I preferred Red because her moves were so varied. Ahhh memories.
Tashwampa Same, but actually hard....
yeah i wonder why Red got way more moves
@@TheArtFortress
Probably to make her even more of a badass than she already was lol.
Red was using Taekwondo
I WOULD KILL EVERYONE JUST TO PLAY AS RED LOL. Maybe sometimes kill everyone then leave red and genji
I remember this being so hard
Same.
Same. 😓😓😓

All the hero times were hard af
Austin Armstrong Ikr
I loved Gingys animations the most. It made him look like hes fencing Puss as an equal.
I LOVED LIL RED SHE ATE HER PART UP
@@Fmp.Macklinlil red used Taekwondo fr
If it ain't broke... *BREAK IT!*
God this was hard back in the day, we had 2 controllers too, we always got our big brother to do it, and he always plays as Gingy cause thats his favorite.

This song was the shit
swear! i use to dance while i play that’s how fire the beat was 😂
This was my favorite level as a kid despite it being tough back then. The music and the moves of Little Red was fire!🔥
Dude after I figured out the rhythm I was awesome at the level so I purposely killed the other guy so it was just Puss vs Gingy.
I remember being stressed at this level(the music and how dramatic it was didn't help-), but I loved it! Just...make sure you look down at the controller every so often so you don't mess up.
@@t-greenrock404 I remember doing something like that too except I always had Shrek and Donkey die on purpose so it was just Ginger and L'il Red.
those slaps shrek uses are deadly
Me and my cousins COULD NEVER FINISH THIS LEVEL
Same
I remember I took 3 or 2 attempts beating this level.
Funny I actually had to have my cousin beat it for me twice (game data got deleted and I was 7). First time she let everyone but red die then won second time she perfected him
***** and donkey in hero time in the spooky forest level
Same. But later this became my fav level, especially as little red.
I honestly love this part. It's stressful and it makes your palms sweaty with anxiety that you'll mess up, but it's fun!
You can say that again, I usually let everyone die at the end then beat him with Shrek since he's the main character.
@@hastaluego2185 oop-
Lol I use to suck at almost all of the hero time levels. Including this one definitely.
Lol me too
Don't no why but I find it extremely funny hears little red saying I'll turn you into Apple sauce
+12397bmw LOL
No cat was harmed in the making of this level.
Collin Gibbs Or donkey.
Yes they were
...about that
This part was always a pain in the ass for me as a kid
Lil red was smooth with the dodges
She used Taekwondo
it’s Little Red and her smooth dance moves for me

YO LIL RED!!! OKAY QUEEN!!!
Now I remember why she was my favorite character!
DANCING ON EM’!
She using Taekwondo on a cat lol
She using Taekwondo 👍
Absolutely love how the music gets more complicated as it goes on. The music is so tightly tied to the gameplay, just wonderful :)
I love playing little reds part, since she had so many parts. Compared to the others.
LIL RED SLAYED
They made her use Taekwondo
This was so hard when I played this lol I literally remember going in a rhythm lol
every few years i come back to this video because the song is oddly catchy
I loved this game back in the days 😆
imagine if this little red riding hood was a real character from the movies, she would be ICONIC!!
Fr cause her and Fiona definitely took martial arts
1:08 - Ogre power!

Red Riding Hood is my second favorite female character to play as.
Oh god, I remember this like it was yesterday. Good times back then :)
3:24 "Time to pay the Gingerbread Man!"
It took my brother and I AGES to do this fight. When we finally beat it, we saved right away so we wouldn't have to go through this pain again xD
Okay but mood-
Doctor: "You only have 4 minutes left to live

So everyone struggled on this level as kids too? Man the memories
I’m glad others shared the pain I felt with this part of the game. Why did they make it so freakin hard?!
Fucking randomly remembered this in the middle of the night and decided to look it up. Shrek is love, shrek is life.
This was the hardest level ever for me as a kid
I love how everyone in this game knows how to fight. XD
Especially lil red using Taekwondo
You make it look so easy xD
Chris Morris looks Easy but in rl is Hard as hell
Fuck. This. Fight.
Puss was always my favorite character in the Shrek movies, but this was too much for my child self.
I love how back then this shit was hard. now i look back at it and im like, bruh i was failing at that?.
I saw a vid of this one tiktok as “what’s the hardest video game level in history”

HERO TIME
8 year old me:*gives controller to my mom*
"I date dragons ya know"
I love how every time you select ginger he goes "okay"
This part of the game used to frustrate me as a kid. But with practice on timing and rythem I eventually made it.
I absolutely hated this boss fight as a kid because my button timing was absolutely horrible back then and this guy had a ton of health. Why did this level have to be so hard and early in the game? It could’ve just acted out like a regular Boss fight instead of just a quick time event fight.
Lil red was so badass in this game to 10 year old me
She still is to 20 year old me
Lil Red used Taekwondo the best part

0:31 for some reason Shrek’s face scared me as a kid. I’m not kidding I got nightmares from it and I always skipped the story book cutscene.

Hedgehoginthetardis Had that on GCN too
you probably bought damage upgrades from the shop (i forgot the name)
I loved this part of the game, I usually played as the ginger bread man and red riding hood, oh the nostalgia
Am i the only one who found this easier than most? My talent at music and video games just came easy here
Musician here, I cam say that was certainly NOT the case for me, lol. I remember being stuck on this level for a like week or two.
I would always give up at this point or ask my sister for help. But it looks easy now
This part of the game was hard but I loved this game as a kid and I love the movies too
This part and the part where donkey has to ride on dragon away from the witch took me FOREVER

@Mr Guy o you're trying to say 5-year-olds or two stupid to play rhythm games?
I remember when it was our turn to dodge, we handed our remote to the best player. Lmao this shit was hard.
Everyone: Mz. Ruby was the hardest rhythm based boss in my childhood
Me, an intellectual: I prayed for mercy from Puss... in Boots!

The nostalgia of the music.
