I agree with everyone's comments, I think Cody is the best 50's Elvis out there, & he's only 21 yrs old! I have talked with Cody several times & he seems like a very nice humble young man, I'm sure we will be seeing Cody for a long time to come doing his excellent tribute honoring the King of R&R, I wish him all the best & continued success in the future ;)
I agree completely, I love his 50's Elvis, and think as he get's a little older he will knock it out of the park doing his 69 era tribute to the king, all around a super talented young man! ;)
Nobody can be the King and Cody will tell you that himself, but he is a great pretender and does Elvis proud and he has a lot of fun and makes a good living doing what he loves, we should all be so fortunate. I hope he sees his success as an eta as a stepping stone for his own career!
Well deserved win!I messed around with one of Codys videos a while back, and thought,Wow this guys going to be one of the best Elvis Tribute Artists in the world once he gets a bit more experience.Like all the best tribute artists it comes natural to him.My ideal tribute show would be Cody Slaughter(50s period)Chris Connor(68-72 period)Shawn Klush(72-).Now that would be one hell of a show!!!
One thing i notice about this guy,,he doesnt over do it. And as a result it comes out naturally. and the performance reflects a very comfortable impersonator.
I will qualify my earlier statement, I should have said I think that Cody is "one" of the best tribute artists out there, particularly as a young Elvis, along with many other super talented tribute artists like Martine Fontain, Trent Carlini, Shawn Klush, and others, I have great respect for these guys and really dont care to judge, just enjoy the illusion. TCB
Cody Slaughter is one of the best 50s Elvis Impersonators along with Donny Edwards. But I feel that Cody Slaughter is one of the few impersonators who actually attempts Elvis' 69 material and sings it well! IMHO. Great job Cody!
Cody is an Actor and a very good one, a likeable man on and off stage. I would like to see him make a success in music and acting beyond his excellent portrayal as an eta artist. In show business you need you own hits to make your career last as you get older. like Tony Bennett , Sinatra George Strait Reba Vince Gill and just to name a few good luck my friend!
I saw Shawn last August in Memphis with Cody & I thought he looked a bit gaunt like he had lost weight & kinda pale & tired, I agree as you said still a great performer but I think Cody has so much going for him with the young Elvis thing, & he will continue to be a talked about favorite for some time, among other talents out there.
You are absolutely right, Elvis is definately a charictor that Cody is performing & not a natural Elvis doppleganger, if you passed Cody in his normal digs on the street, you wouldn't think twice or be likely to recognize him unless ya knew him.
Shawn Klush was my fave ETA 'til I saw Cody perform. Saw Klush recently, still damn good, but somehow looked old and done .. only say so 'cause I saw him on stage from the second row, up close... kinda woke me up ... in a sad way.
saw him this year he kinda freaked me out with the teeth, contacts, wig Whats left when he goes to bed. just kidding. he is good..There are some good ones out there. He certainly can work the crowd.
just amazeing, like i seeing elevis all over again....
Cosy, once again, you are the best ever, I knew God loved Elvis 'cos he gave him a second chance, don't blow it this time pal.

I've seen most of the top Elvis tribute artists and I think he's #1 IMO.
Nobody can be the King and Cody will tell you that himself, but he is a great pretender and does Elvis proud and he has a lot of fun and makes a good living doing what he loves, we should all be so fortunate. I hope he sees his success as an eta as a stepping stone for his own career!
The best I've ever seen,. a reincarnation, from a fifties, youth.
