First few seconds hits home :( I'm almost 5 months in and have been constantly watching 'how to quit your job' videos in youtube. It's just painful how much energy and time this job drains from me and yet I can't see myself enjoying even if I did advance in this career :(
ethylalcohol - My heart goes out to you. In such jobs, we tend to feel powerless, particularly when we're unsure of what direction to move in. I understand it's easier said than done, but I hope you remember that no matter what, you retain the power of choice. Choose to look inward, to use your experience as a mirror to find your way. Choose to control what you can, and let go of the rest. Above all, choose yourself. I'm fully confident that you'll find your way, even if you feel lost or discouraged at times - you're on the right path. Keep being you, and doing what you can. I believe in you!
@dennisxiao i relate very much to the first 5 mins of your video. I've spent 8 months now watching these videos, reading books about quitting, yet still afraid to pull the trigger. What if i dont have enough money? So i say let me work another few months to secure my bonus. Then another 3 months for this 401k vest. Viscous cycle and worst since ive spent 15 years into this career. I dont even know who i am or what i have without this job.
@@adammorra3813 Hey Adam, I hear and see you. It can be quite scary to step into the unknown. As you’ve mentioned, beyond the financial instability, the loss of identity can be quite destabilizing. Wishing you well during this time, let me know if a continued conversation would be helpful
