If oponent would purify that operative he would prevent 10 point swing but he prioritised 7 points Brathens probably fearing Vincent on that or something similar.

Coup can be really good value but in my experience it ends up being really awkward a lot of the time. Feel free to try it out instead of bribery and amnesty though.
