This video is one of those great gifts when you accidentally happen to be in the right place at the right time. I had been dancing the entire day and decided to sit out a dance, not realizing that it was the last dance of the night. I grabbed my camera and went up on the stage and started filming, handheld. What came next has turned out to be one of the greatest performances I've ever witnessed. I've watched and listened to this so many times and have heard other tell me they've done same. John and Ed just kept cycling the energy continuously until it erupted with that great cheer at the end of dance. What an amazing, exhilarating experience! I didn't get to dance to it but by capturing it here I, and 23K others at last count get to relive it again and again.
This happened at "Dance Flurry", an annual dance and music festival that happens every January in Saratoga Springs, New York. (see link above) People come from all over and Perpetual e-Motion will again be playing in 2013. This is the main dance hall and I would guess at least 400 people dancing, You can try to count the number of sets but I think there are at least 7, maybe 8 possibly 9.
Bob Isaacs is generally considered one of the best callers around, and is regularly asked to call for weekends and special events like this. His teaching and calling are clear and precise, he works closely with the musicians, he stops calling as soon as the dancers have the dance so we can just enjoy the music, and he is also a prolific choreographer have written many hundreds of dances.
The dance is "Urban Modern Groove" by Bob Isaacs (written 2010) A1 (16) Neighbor gypsy and swing A2 (8) Right and left through; (8) Women allemande Left 1-1/2 B1 (16) Partner balance and swing B2 (8) Promenade across the Set, (8) Circle Left 3/4 and pass through

The dance is "Urban Modern Groove" by Bob Isaacs (written 2010)
A1 (16) Neighbor gypsy and swing
A2 (8) Right and left through; (8) Women allemande Left 1-1/2
B1 (16) Partner balance and swing
B2 (8) Promenade across the Set, (8) Circle Left 3/4 and pass through
Will, the A2 should finish Ladies Right 1+1/2
Technically, the A2 allemande is right, not left.
So appropriate as, Perpetual e-Motion...
Very cool
Great! Does anyone know the name and author of the dance?
