  • In recent years, Tegan and Sara have continued to turn out new and reimagined music. After 2019’s Hey, I’m Just Like You, Tegan and Sara released Still Jealous, an acoustic remix of their 2004 album So Jealous, in early 2022. And then at the end of last year, they released Crybaby, their tenth full-length studio album.
And in the midst of all their musical output, they deftly segued into publishing, releasing their memoir, High School, in 2019. The book was crafted into a TV series of the same name, streaming on the Amazon Freevee service.
While all of that was taking place, life itself continued apace for the sisters, which in turn informs their creativity. Despite their busy lives, Tegan and Sara took time to connect with The Current Morning Show’s Jill Riley for a lively and fun conversation, offering insights on what motivates them now and into the future.

20:43 you can tell the radio host is a good mother because..she looks like a mom..heck she can even be my mom by the looks of it..! Good moms...look like moms..Sara is probably more of a Dad anyway so she Might have a different trajectory

Also, in my travels, I find Canadian women to be the most outspoken but..I don't want to be a part of a woman's movement, I'm tired of hearing that story.. when does someone like me get to be with a great guy without a woman always being around? And to live good and well with a man and no woman? I'm not into women! Except some of your music 🎵

27:55 yeah but...how are you getting Canadian money? Do you get government grants because your a liberal white lesbian? Like ..how do I get $$ from Canada? Seems like women are getting a lot but what about someone like me? Who is actually Born in Canada?!

So t&s were born in Canada. They got their money from decades of hard work making albums and touring. Then they were able to use that platform to start a nonprofit to help the LGBTQ community. There was no hand out, it is all well deserved. All of which you would probably know if you were a fan. 😂 Anyway...
