- Here's what is likely a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe glitch or design flaw with blue shells on 200cc. Share the video so Nintendo notices, and fixes this in an update!

The Blue Blur has outrun countless machines, gravity, and even time itself, but sadly, Sonic was never able to outrun 200cc.
The scene of a racer outrunning a blue shell is glorious.
Nintendo has some amazing testers
When you are fast as Mankalor you outrun everything...

me:knock knock
blueshell on 50cc
At least it's exhilarating to do. I love outrunning items on maps like Mute City. I once outran a blue shell for an entire lap on that stage lol
Videos like this give me hopes about other techs being discovered/rediscovered
I've noticed this when playing the game. I was gonna do a video on it, but now you did it. Nice video!
Nintendo takes down video
I remember doing something like that in 150cc in Mario Kart: Super Circuit.
I personally think this isnt that bad, because it gives the person in first a chance. And if 🌝1st place makes one little mistake the blue shell will get him
I think that outrunning to the blue shell isn't a bug
Recently, i had the issue that the blue shell accidently chose the other path when i reached a cross path section, it did not come back and completed another round just to try and get me, but it despawned halfway through.
Anyone remember how doing this was normal in Super Circuit if you played Peach or Toad?
This happens because in the slower modes, you'd have land on a red shell if you were gliding in Mario Kart 8 and you couldn't do anything about it because they were too fast. Even if you had a banana, it didn't matter. It's slowed down in all modes for Deluxe to stop that issue. They could probably make them run faster in 200cc as a fix. I honestly don't get why they changed it for the Spiny shell though.
The reason this is likely happening in the Switch version is because the blue shell algorithm has changed a bit. On Wii U and other MK games before it, the blue shell would determine who it hits from the moment of release. In Deluxe, the shell can change who it wants to hit while on the go. As a result, it's possible that a loop occurs where the shell slows down when it stops finding a target, but you go faster than that, so it readjusts to the speed before it confirms the target.
I like it like that. It puts so much pressure onto first place
I don't know the system on switch but for the wii I know : the red shell follows the course path until a certain distance from the player, where it goes straight to the player being at a constantly reducing distance behind the player in the sense of the course
