@@KoichiYabori I know you don't have a bass player here...but it seems you may not need one. If you do find you might need one, please realize that there are thousands of bass players out there that are good...but not great...and I am a bass player and have been for several decades but now retired. Many of them have chops but can't solo well enough to light my candle because the chops get in the way of the music and the solo lines are not musical or dynamic going from pianissimo to fortissimo. As you can tell, playing "skank, skank, kank all the time gets boring after a while...where's the music in that. Another thing to consider is the realization that bass is very difficult to record so that it can be clearly heard whether it be direct, live or in the studio. Acoustics plays a huge part of recording bass properly. Thanks
@@richc47us, thanks. Yes, I know and have played with great bassists in the world. Especially, Gary Willis played so cool, I love his bass play and him. In Japan, I've been playing with Jiro Okada, he is one of the best bassists in the world.
Of all the videos I've seen of Senri, this is the one where she demonstrates a maturity and mastery that is absolutely mind-boggling. No holding back. Wow, wow, wow!!! They're all amazing, of course. And Senri's collaboration with Kiyomi is the best jazz fusion I've seen in a long time. And Kiyomi's skills and joy are incredible. The best. Again...wow!
@@KoichiYabori I've been looking for a trio or expression like this for a while now. Since Alan passed I thought alas... the end. Thank you all so so much! A question... the bass parts... keyboardist? Foot bass?
This performance with Kiyomi Otaka and with you (Yabori-san) is spectacular, it really caught me, I adore Senri, but I didn't have this feeling since her collaborations with Guthrie Govan and later with Riyoko Takagi & Nori Shiota. I usually prefer Senri's fusion facet, but listen to her so seamlessly immersed into jazz is impressive. Thanks for your brilliant work👍
So good! Such a fine piece of jazz! As proven countless times, Senri can play wonderfully with all musicians, but I especially like the KIYO * SEN collaboration. The interaction between Koichi-san, Kiyo-san and Senri-san is similar to that of a great family of musicians. Otherwise Shibutani-san also becomes an important "family member". The whole post is absolutely amazing. At the beginning of the drum solo I got goose bumps on my meninges! Senri-san draws sparks from the drum set that you think the game of several professionals has been overlaid. What a nice therapeutic, because I lie sick in bed. Thanks for uploading!
This is a side of Senri I had never seen or heard! Of course, we've all heard Senri's wonderful fusion, rock, prog and so forth, but this demonstrates that she has plenty more up her sleeve! Probably much more to come, too!
Whenever I think Senri can't get any better- then this!! Thank you too to Alizee Defan for introducing incredible talent to the world like Senri, as well!
I listened to the studio version of this song which is awesome but I still believe I like this even better, each instrument is more defined and the musicianship is incredible
I’ve studied music all of my life, and yet, if you pointed at some of what Senri does here and asked me, “How?”, I would look at you, ashen-faced.....and say, “I just don’t know.”
@@KoichiYabori You are too modest -- this video is the best I saw for a long time. There are many extremely skilled musicians at the moment, but this performance was telling a story that struck deeper and had a very distinctive and deliberate voice.

I agree that this collaboration is one of the finest and should happen often especially on tour....but touring can be a detriment to the music. Now about the music: I love all these guys and all are great individual artists in their own right. But one thing to consider IS the music when it comes to "flash"....Flash is ok except when it gets in the way of the music especially guitarists who have the chops and want to show everyone all those chops. the art of the solo and the music within the solo when it comes to the great artists know how and when to use "flash and chops" and when to use silence and melody. An artists work for excellence is never done. It's a lifetime of creativity and that's how maturity is gained. As I said, all these musicians are great....I can't single out anyone that's better than another...there is no "best"....only better!
Continues to be the best progressive jazz cut by one of the best trios ever assembled!
Speachless, I love Senri's style and solo. Amazing, soooo easy, for her!!!😁😁😁👍👍👍🌷🌷🌷♥♥♥
