    Cool. 60 days out, book dining reservations. 7 days out, book Multi Pass rides. 7 days out to the second we get on the plane, change dining reservations to align with Multi Pass ride selections. Yeah spreadsheets!

      Having to do so much work to plan your vacation does have irony to it!

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 місяці тому

      Thankfully, with Lightning Lane, you'll be able to choose the time you'd like to ride. . . . so you won't have to make adjustments to your dining reservations. You can simply book your selections around your already existing reservations.

      @fbueller Honestly, it's really not all that different from planning any other vacations or travel anywhere else. That's not to say that there isn't a learning curve, but all travel comes with that if you're not familiar with a destination. 😄

      @@2foolishmortals I hear what you are saying and agree to some extent. I will say that planning for Disney vacations seems to involve a lot more overhead in terms of planning. I have seen friends with young children stressed for weeks about getting desired ride and meal reservations. They made initial selections and still felt they needed to constantly check and update their requests when other openings came up. The best advice I’ve ever heard you give on your channel is the importance of setting expectations. Once I lock in park and hotel reservations, I know I would rather go and just enjoy the experience than spend a lot of time micromanaging other requests. I am trying to pick a window (SEP or JAN) where crowds might be lower due to school requirements. My favorite thing to do when at crowded places is to people watch! This is always a good time.

    Very interesting, thank you! I hope they'll fix the problem for international guests, if not I will definitely try with a VPN..

      I'd definitely be giving a VPN a try! Whether or not that will actually work [which I have no reason to believe it wouldn't] is anyone's guess, but until they iron out whatever issues they've got with making this available to international guests [probably a combination of international laws and taxes] it seems like that's the best option.

    This is a welcomed improvement. Is it everything everyone wanted…..no but like I mentioned on ur social post, the paid aspect is not going away. I’m glad they’re listening and trying to improve guest experience. I’d be over the moon if they announced the return of magical express but I’m not getting my hopes up lol 😂

    I think with the 3 picks option that's signaling a minor price change versus the dream of a huge increase and making it a premium product. If they went the $200 route you would only need to select one ride at a time since there would be no wait for your next ride anyways. (In their minds) They have to maintain the price gap between the budget friendly option and their VIP tour experience. Hey at least it's better, it's simpler, no longer do you have to play the 2hr game. It's a better way to optimize crowds since you incentivize folks selecting the shortest waits so they can recoup their LL passes. Wish they got rid of the tier system and just made those individual LLs.

    Unfortunately guests from countries outside of the USA cannot book their lighting lanes up to 7 days in advance! 10 grand staying in a Disney hotel and I cannot even use all the perks. Thanks Disney.

    What with Disney charges to get in the park I am not happy with more charges

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 місяці тому

      Fortunately, it's not NEW charges. . . it's just a restructuring of the program that currently exists at Walt Disney World; Genie+. While pricing may adjust over time, that's consistent with what they are currently doing thanks to dynamic pricing AND that's right in line with what all other theme/amusement parks do around the country.

    I like the changes very much (except for the 'its not free'' part) but one thing I am still trying to resolve in my head is if you are an Annual Passholder and staying at a Disney Resort. There are still days that require a confirmed park pass and I believe the "good to go days' aren't announced that far in advance. So I guess I would make a good guess and get the paid service for the park I think I am going to and if as an AP holder that park is not available that day, I can switch my paid service to that park? I a know I am going to mess this up LOL

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 місяці тому +1

      As an AP staying at a WDW Resort Hotel, you can make park pass reservations for the length of your stay without taking from your allotment of available reservations that you get with your AP. As long as you make those reservations in advance, what you're describing shouldn't be an issue.

    I think this is an overall improvement from G+.
    We have to expect the price will increase on it at some point - that’s just the Disney way.
    They’re going to need to fix the issue with international guests not being able to purchase or make selections until they arrive - that to me is the biggest issue right now with the new system

  • @hasenmyer
    @hasenmyer 2 місяці тому +1

    Single pass it says you can purchase up to two selections. Does this mean that if I'm going to Epcot and want to ride guardians twice in the same day, I can buy the single pass twice for the same ride? Other than that I don't mind the new system, except for it kind of locks you in once you commit, if you change your plans you may not get what you want.

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 місяці тому

      That's a good question. I have seen some people speculate that it will allow you to buy 2 or WHATEVER available attractions there are, but since it is replacing ILLS part of my thinks that you will only be able to buy one per ride per day. That's not something I have stumbled upon in the fine print about this though. WDW has all the info so spread out its been hard to get all of the info though, so I may have just missed it somewhere.

    Does Disney ever run trials with guests for new services/changes like this they develop and plan to implement?
    What is the official date this goes into effect? Does Disney have a release cycle for program changes like this? I know you recently mentioned the new program providing resort day check-in access to the water parks. Some channel members mentioned thinking this doesn’t go live until 2025 but you mentioned it is available now. Is confusion like this common? Is the MDE app the best source for information about changes?

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 місяці тому +1

      Yes. Disney ran tests before they opened FastPass+ in 2014 and that system [which is essentially ahat this is now] ran until 2020. They also run other tests and previews as well from time to time; though they aren't always successful in making the appropriate changes quick enough for problems to go unnoticed.
      July 24 2024.
      Water parks perk is available for visits in 2025, but you can lock I'm that perk for 2025 if you book your 2025 vacation now [I believe].
      Is confusion like this common? Yes and no. It's just like any other travel plans. There are a lot of moving parts.
      It depends on what changes you're talking about.

    12:46 What if the ride associated with a purchased LL SP is down/closed the day you visit? Are guests able to get a refund or would they then just have to choose another ride?

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 місяці тому +1

      It depends on the situation. They have a process in place for this with Individual Lightning Lane Selections that I'm sure will carry over. In a nutshell, you're ollnly eligible for a refund if the ride doesn't come back up before park close making it so that you can't use your purchased ILLS/SP.

    Also the fact I have been hearing is international guests cannot make any selections until they are in the states already.
    That’s so insane 😮.
    I also have a question which no one mentions.
    Will there still be a standby line for guests who don’t buy any lightening lanes?
    UPDATE ..
    Thank you for the answer within the video. 👍👍

    • @2foolishmortals
      @2foolishmortals  2 місяці тому +1

      It does seem insane, and we are going to talk more about it here on the channel soon, but International law is tricky. I'm sure that decision, unpopular as it is, is a result of some fine print that they either can't get past or they need more time in order to work out.
