Amira has never been troubled by nerves. She always seems perfectly relaxed when performing for the very good reason that she is. When she famously performed O Mio Babbino Caro with Andre Rieu the 10,000 strong audience didn't bother her in the slightest despite being only 10. This performance is like a great painter walking into an empty studio, finding a blank canvas and some spare paint , casually creating a masterpiece and then walking out again. Sublime.
We are all mesmerized by Amira's vocals!!! Wonderful reaction guys--loved it. So true--no production, choir, beautiful dress, microphone, etc--just Amazing Amira!! Love it--keep up the spectacular work!!!
Oh ya if I'm lucky enough to pass through those pearly gates this is what I'll hear. To me this is a masterpiece and should be shown in every singers masterclass around the globe because this is as close to perfection as it gets.
This is how Mozart or Beethoven would have heard her. No mic, no big sound system, just a beautiful voice in a room designed for excellent acoustics. With only a church organ accompanying her. Crazy good..
This was sung in her home church when she came to the Netherlands for Christmas. Before she left South Africa she sang Panis Angelicus in a church with her friend Katherine Hamman (December 7). Worthy of your consideration. Thanks, guys, JOE.
Glad you got to hear this.. it's so rare that Amira records something like this.. just her and her dad.. and it's great to hear just her voice singing when it's not a stage performance. I only recall the two performances in the music shop when the owner played the piano Amira went to buy and she sang two songs.
The Angel stepped down from heaven,and stood on the earth below, where she stood she looked all about her,then chose a path to go,she came to a poor township where the children had nowhere safe to play,and decided to do something about it, on that very day. The Angel built a playground, then two three and four,and as the years went by,she had built them fifteen more.Now there are nineteen playgrounds,and others on the way, where more lucky children,will have somewhere safe to play.The swings sway gently to and fro, seasaws bounce up and down,while children on the roundeabout,spin merrily around,they climb up the steps slip down the slide,they run and squeak, play hide and seek,all thanks to the Angel,mild and meek, who helped them all to play,The Angel's name AMIRA,who came down to earth one day and helped many poor children, with some where safe to play.Now come all ye lucky children,Go down on ye knees and pray,give thanks to the Angel Amira,who helped you all to play.Give thanks to the Angel Amira, who helped you all to play. I believe when she was young she did get upset when people cried because she thought they didn't like her!
