Autel is the highest price out of the 3 but a solid scanner, Launch is equal to Autel in my opinion but cheaper in price and xtool is great for the money especially if you need the strongest key programming a diagnostic scanner can give you. Out of all three I like my Launch scanners the best.
For some reason Launch does not have all vehicles covered. I have the Launch X431+ and I needed to recalibrate the throttle body on a 2005 Cherry J2 1.5 L and that model wasn't even on my Launch. I did filed a report and they replied that no scan tool have that model and that they will dive in to see if they can assist me. Almost 6 months back and still no answer.
@737mechanic Thanks for your reply. It is weird why it is not listed. To be honest I felt a bit embarrassed when I couldn't help the customer! The customer end up going to the OEM for assistance. Unfortunately he paid more than double that I would've charged him.
@@johanbotha9889 One thing you might be able to do in a case like that is to select whatever other model is close to the J2 and with the same engine and see if it will communicate with the engine module and see if it will let you do a recalibrate .
Something doesn't sound right. I had mine connected to a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2019 RAM 1500 and everything worked great. Make sure the tool is registered on the autoauth website.
I bought one of these about 3 weeks ago as a personal scan tool at work and especially on the weekends and traveling. Friday, two days ago, was the first time I had to access a 2018+ FCA product, and I kept getting error code 18 from Autoauth. After a call to Launch, it turned out that I had to leave the last two characters of the serial number off when registering it with Autoauth. It worked great after that.

How would you rank autel, Xtool & launch? From best to OK at best?

I looked on my launch scanners and they list a lot of cherry models but not the J2, I also looked on my xtool and the J2 wasn't listed on them either.

It Does not work with my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid. Only does codes, and this is with FCA Autoauth.

@@737mechanic the only way to get to the menu to look at data controls is to pull codes first
@@bigblockcutlass123 You should do a video and upload it to youtube. I would like to see what is going on. That doesn't sound right.
I think I did one already
