How volleyball on water became viral!
Volleyball is one of the most popular sports, played competitively or recreationally by more than 800 million people worldwide. Volleyball fans filling the stands at volleyball spectacles and even more sports enthusiasts following the action on screens and online platforms have propelled volleyball to the top of the sporting pyramid.
In August, we have witnessed our event taking over the internet by storm.
The sports spectacle Volleyball on water, which took place in Ljubljana on the 16th of August 2022, reached new dimensions on the TikTok channel of Ljubljana Tourism. Up to this moment, the video of the event has already received more than 47 million views by users from all over the world. Furthermore, it was shared on social media channels by the world's biggest sports networks, including ESPN and TSN - The Sports Network - Canada.
𝐒𝐨, 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭? 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦?
We knew that from 26th of August to 7th of September, Slovenia will co-host the men’s World Volleyball Championship which is the most important volleyball competition under the auspices of the World Volleyball Federation (WVF) together with Poland.
Usually events like these reach 2.3 billion sports fans around the world and this time we wanted to drive some attention to volleyball in Slovenia even before the start of the main event.
And we wanted to help, once again, the Volleyball Federation of Slovenia (OZS) to justify their reputation as a top organizer of events at the highest level.
Together with Volleyball Association of Slovenia, Communications Office and the Slovenian Tourist Board, we have prepared an extraordinary supporting programme. Our most important responsibility was to organize this crazy and creative volleyball match on water, or to be more exact on River Ljubljanica in the heart of the city center Ljubljana (capital of Slovenia). The event certainly became one of the highlights of the promotion.
𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭?
Our team, which has numerous daring projects under their belt on one hand, and on the other hand had this dream of a crazy idea on water as a surface where noone ever thought before. We knew that we needed to think outside of the box. And if the words creative and extreme has come to encapsulate just about everything the sports industry produces and sells - there can be no mistaking that this is our forte. Together with Volleyball Association of Slovenia and few more partners we made it happen on 16th of August.
