I really hope the story surprises me, they've been selling it as something super duper immersive and deep but so far I don't see anything that hasn't been made before in the franchise
The kid wants to kill it but oh no the thing is an endangered species, the resolution might be something extremely contradicting for the franchise or cliche

perhaps maybe Arkveld could be similar to real life “living fossils” like the coelacanth. animals that have been around for such a long time and have adapted to live in the modern day but still look basically very similar to their more ancient species
But it could have a similar story to Primordial Malzeno with hesitation on actually hunting this creature down and slaying it

Great vid, I love the concept of Extinct Species, I am very intrigued to what direction they will take this.

I'm convinced it's going to be a flying wyvern due to the resemblance to berukyurosu

I would love to see an endgame where on the map you discover tracks of a species the guild thought was extinct and will this be the same thing as origin species in frointier.

It’s clearly a flying wyvern, specifically it seems more closely related to Seregios given its foot morphology and wing walking build. If extinct species are going to be a gameplay thing then it’s more likely a monster type like deviants or variants over a classification like flying wyvern or unknown. Also it’s unlikely they’ll be a lone individual and alive since ancient times. My guess is the Keepers hunted them to near extinction and this is a survivor of dwindling population seeking revenge like a tiger

I think it could be cool if it was a case of convergent evolution, two similar monsters of completely different species

@@zephalpha06 foot morphology rarely changes. Add the fact they have similar wrist and even scale and skull morphology to a lesser extent then them being related seems more likely

@@TsulaAngenati2292 well there's Elder Dragons where you have wildly different foot shapes. Stuff like Chameleos and Yamatsukami have the same feet, but Chameleos is closely related to Namielle who has a very different foot structure and they're only distantly on an Order level related with Yama.
Elders have diversified in extremely different nieches to the point some parts of them seem to have convergently evolved amongst one another.

@@kingofflames738 that feels like an apples to oranges comparison. You can tell that the flying octopus and the chameleon dragon are two different species but, in what clearly look like a flying wyvern, being compared to another flying wyvern of similar size with similar tooth, foot and even scale morphology- it doesn’t take that much of a leap to make the inference towards their relation

crazy to think that this is like discovering a T. Rex alive for the hunters

  • @kingofflames738
    @kingofflames738 День тому

You know what would be crazy? If it turns out Arkveld is a bird wyvern, just the most basal form of bird wyvern and the missing link between the Origin Wyvern - which presumably had a resemblance to Wyvern Rex - and Igurueibisu.

The Arkveld Is my favorite. Amd Now i want to better explain a theory i made. I was thinking about Arkveld abilities so i rewatched the trailer many times so i come up with this (im italian, english is not my language so sorry for the errors) theory.
I think that arkveld can use the bioenergy like the Safi jiva, in a similar but different way. Watching the trailer, you can clearly see that while the Arkveld was strangling an Uth duna, strange particles were floating around the leviathan and the biochains of the Arkveld where glowing, then when the Arkveld was fighting the Rey dau, his chains started glowing after some attacks. So, possible that the ability of the Arkveld is absorbing the kinetic and elemental energy of the attacks, in way to redirect it in his bio-chains and create gravitational-like attacks ?
I like hearing the opinions of others so comment freely

One question remains: how did such a strong monster go extinct?
    WHAT killed Arkveld's species off?

It could have been nothing. Perhaps there prey has simply gotten faster like Sabertooth cats. Or maybe their prey died out like Megaladon’s.

Gore does not "evolve" into Shigaru. It is best described as a metamorphosis scientifically speaking. This change is rooted in the Magala classification as a part of their life cycle. Due to this, they are not branching off into a separate "new" species as a one time thing, which is what happens in true evolution. In true evolution, once changed, a species does not revert back to that old (previous) species, meaning they produce offspring of their current states, which in this case, Shigaru Magala produces Gore Magala offspring.
