I'm so excited to get reading content from you this year! Emily Wilde's Map of the Otherlands is on my list of priority reads this year, so hopefully I can get to it soon!
I am sooo enthusiastic about reading in 2025 and reigniting my reading habit. So happy to be on this journey with you and I'll get so much motivation from your updates throughout the year! I'm also doing a bingo board and I think it may just be the gamechanger I needed :)
I was very pleased when my word of the year came to me! I really have focused on being cozy and content for so many years in a row and I think I am now ready to actively seek growth and improvement again. Enrichment felt like the perfect marrying of the two concepts. Not trying to grow for growth's sake but to grow for the betterment of myself and my happiness.
@@MartaWrites I am also so excited to be making more videos! Lots of travel vlogs and writing vlogs and sit down chatty things. Tuesday's video is already up and scheduled! I figure if I can always stay one week ahead, I should be able to maintain the goal.
One good non-fiction philanthropic book that I loved and that was actually recommended by John Green is Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder. It talks about Doctor Paul Farmer, the co-founder of Partners In Health, and about his work to improve health care all over the world from Haiti to Peru. I really enjoyed it and found it very moving and informative. I’m pretty sure I cried a few times reading it.
I’ve never kept a reading journal, but I think this inspired me to 🙈 I love the idea and the format of this journal is so beautiful! Side note: I rarely am able to grate cheese without wounding myself and grating my own finger so I feel your pain 😅🤭
I also purchased a premade reading journal this year and it is making me want to read more this year. Those end pages are gorgeous. Hey we are trying the same genre this year! I have books that I bought that are biographies and just never got to them. That ends this year! The aesthetic of that journal is everything. I love the warm tone and they carried it through beautifully. That is such a clean and clear review page! I appreciate that some of the writing spaces are lighter so it is easier to see what you write. Oh wow! That cover is gorgeous! Looks like a really good journal. I hope it helps as much as it is pretty.
@@Wallisimo Honestly? I got mine from Amazon. It took ages to find one that had what I wanted. It's a decent mix of really old and newer biographies: Ian McKellen, Alan Alda (started this one), Agrapinna the Younger (mother of Nero and sister of Caligula... yeah)... just a bunch of them. We'll see how that goes because I also have a lot of fantasy sitting on the sidelines. Haha.
this has nothing to do with the video but the sweater and nails are so perfect 💖 now I can't wait to see it all filled out and beautiful!! also do we count me as meeting an author after june 10th? 🤣 or should it be a new person? lolol
5 mins in and I fell into the rabbithole of looking for a reading journal 😂😅 The Notebook Therapy ones are too expensive... But I found one on the South American river for 8 bucks. It's a good way to get through my TBR... I have started reading books and they're still on my shelf, years later... Throne of Glass, e.g. stopped in the middle of Book 5, need to finish that one 🙈 My reading goal would also be reading a classic once a month. Ordered myself the Gilgamesh Epic and for some INSANE reason, my local library has NO copy of the ILIAD. THE ILIAD. Also: fav book of the year, I immediately have to disqualify my friend's book from it bc I'm utterly biased towards this book. It would unfair to everyone else's work.
@@Wallisimo No if there was, it would show up with the red note "currently not in" and "return date X". But there's NOTHING. They don't have the Odyssey either... I'm shocked. Looks like I have to get it from the university library...

OMG it was SO painful! And blood got everywhere! I was like, damn this recipe really is a blood sweat and tears kind of thing.
