Epica deserves more. They are IMO one of the current (maybe all time) peaks of musicality in the world. I hope people join me in requesting and recommending them here on UA-cam.

Epica’s unofficial motto is “more is MORE”. Amazing how in their case it’s never too much but always artfully EPIC.

I tell you, the recent Nightwish virtual concert was nothing compared to Omega Alive. This is also way cheaper compared to that two hour rehearsal-like performance on a green screen that is very overhyped at this point. Epica deserves more.

I agree. Blu-ray is ordered. And to be honest, the Within Temptation "The Aftermath" was also a great production!
I really enjoy it, although some of the haters are saying they are upset saying that everything was lip-synced and over-produced and it's just an over-enhanced musical video is all....In spite of what some of the haters are saying, I enjoyed the hell out of it and even if one thinks it's just a video, and that nothing about it is "live", it's still a very well done video....I will buy the DVD show when it comes out on December 3rd. Can't wait!
@@jo_g.germany When you bought it, did you notice if there was a DVD version available by chance?
@@down-the-rabbit-hole It was a pre- recorded show. They wanted a visual feast for the eyes, something that was not possible on a real live show. ( the nightwish show was also pre- recorded and not real live).
And Epica succeeded in that, there is so much going on to look at. But haters gonna hate anyway.
Btw the Omega Alive show will come to you in both versions, blue ray and dvd as a package if you should order. It's not possible to order just one of them if I'm not mistaken.
How COULD YOU.........................have had any excuse to NOT have seen this??? I ask 'those', who where living under a rock and once thought that symphonic metal was just so so...

I have never heard any credits given to Isaac, the guitar soloist from Epica...And i don't know why..The man is an absolute beast in that guitar when he wants to be....Looking at his bio, one of his projects is called College Of Metal.. 🤘😉 That would go to show you something...We gotta give it up 👏 for the Belgian dude once in a while...
Yes, he is a top guitar player, you must see and hear ihm at the Retrospektiven concert while duelling with the violine at the composing of Presto.

Unfortunately Xandria is no longer with the wonderful Dianne but if they were the song A theater of dimension will definitely top this performance cause omg if you hear that song, it’s highly advanced operatic and emotional in my opinion. Probably the greatest song in symphonic metal history.

How can you call this a reaction? When you cannot even tell your audience what the lyrics and song is about?
Without the growling Epica will be much more appreciated in my opinion, I really love Simone (and Floor 🤪) and the tracks they produce but dislike the growling (a lot of people do so). Greetz from The Netherlands 🇳🇱 💪

A matter of personal taste, but I think you didn’t get what Epica is about. They’re not trying to be popular but to go on with their art. Growls at Epica’s song are just another instrument and actually another character (together with Simone and the choir).
@@MrSh0110 I know, I reacted on a few people, it's not about being popular but the 'appreciating'. I really like the Epic tracks but the growling is not my cup of tea, but like you said, it's a matter of taste, even with the growling I really like Epica 😁
@@patricvanbree2541 Growls in general are not my cup of tea either but in Epica’s songs it works for me. It’s adding another dimension and complexity to the music and lyrics. They’re never ‘evil’ but usually represent an alter-ego or uninhibited inner voice that is complementary to Simone’s voice (the main character, usually more restrained) and the choir (usually represents the ‘ancient wisdom’). For me, the contrast that is generated between Simone, Mark, the choir, the metal sound and the orchestra is perfect.
Mark Jansen (the growler) was actually the founder of Epica..If not for him, Epica wouldn't even be around...The growling started with what started Epica...I'm myself not either a big fan of growling per se, but, on the same token, I couldn't even imagine Epica without Mark's growling...That's just part of the essence of the band...
