Ohhhh my gosh... this made me think of my grandfather & I when I was about the age this boy is... I don't remember hearing an exact age but I'm guessing about 10yrs... The internet wasn't even thought about when I was 10yrs haha... idk, maybe... but cell phones were still called "pay phones" & my grandfather still had an "actual phone booth" in his house... complete with seperate ear & voice mouth phone & rotary phone... so cool 😆 😁😅 my grandpa was a cool guy 😌
@@niarbasdeenohw my grandson is 9 and simply obsessed with coin collecting. He has many other collections that we may record. So many things have changed since I was his age some of them for the better. I miss record players and old tube radios. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
I started pitching everything 1981 and older in a bucket about 2 years ago for the copper content. It looks like they are slowly trying to take them out of circulation.
Waiting for the right time??? Let him earn the $$ to buy them himself... Work around the house or yard... Surely he's old enough to have or at least do chores by now... He should have some responsibilities that need to be completed week after week or even smaller daily responsibilities... 1) Washing cars every week or when asked to... 2) daily trash... 3) touching up the bathroom he uses... 4) wiping the counter with a paper towel after he uses sink prevents rust on faucet... 5) weekly tub scrubbing prevents buildup... 6) learning how to fix clogged drains due to longer hair build-up... 7) checking tire pressures every day when the weather gets cold... 8) weekly lawn care... 9) pet care 10) Driveway, sidewalk, walk way snow shoveling... Things such as these can allow him to earn weekly / bi-weekly or monthly "chores $$$" as well as learning responsibilities & management of things he's incharge of... U can buy him things & he can learn what's expected of him as he grows into a young man... Ofcourse, this is just a thought from a person who is not family or related... But, it is still a good idea... I'm only mentioning this because it wasn't before I stopped video to say this, haha... idk if it does after 6:05 ... Guess I'll find out...
@@niarbasdeenohwWonderful advice. other than the odd coin he inherited from his paternal grandfather he has bought 90% of the coins he now owns including many silver coins. He is a big help to me around the house and uses his money to wisely invest.
