The first things I do when I wake up is brush teeth, take morning meds, and exercise and often do scripture writing! Love your show and all of your new patterns!
The first thing I do when I wake up (5 am) each weekday morning is drink about 8 ounces of water, then I brush my teeth, shower, get dressed and have breakfast. I have the honor of taking care of my 21 month old grandson (and sometimes his 4 1/2 year old sister) and so I like to be fed and dressed when he arrives around 8 am.
Absolutely LOVE your manifesto!!! We have a few household “rules,” one of which is: “say what you mean and mean what you say.” It takes the “pressure” off the speaker as well as the listener because it’s universally agreed that it’s okay to say what you want/need 💯
Thank you Sara for sharing your manifesto. Very brave. I share the same feelings. Another great bag lab. Thanks for always sharing your talents with us.
Appreciated your manifesto. You and I have a lot in common. You are creating some great coping strategies. 😊 My family knows to give me sewing time on the weekends and they are great about giving it to me. So important. Hugs to you, Sara.
I totally relate to the manifesto. Thank you. The first thing I do in the morning is take the dogs out to run around in the backyard. While they are doing that I think about what I am going to sew after work!
I had to think about what I actually do each morning. Before retiring at the beginning of this year, I used to immediately check my phone for messages about work. Since retiring, I turn on the TV to check either local news or one of the national news channels to find out what happened overnight.
Wow Sara… so glad I got to share this personal moment with ya… your reality in the last few months are not age related rather… I am a people pleaser too and have to fight the I don’t care attitude to others too😊
I finally spent my Mom's day gift card money from 2 years ago on the latest pattern set. I also used my 15% off and the leftover gift card money to purchase another pattern I'd been wanting for awhile. My out of pocket cost was $2.75 for which I'm pleased.
Hi Danny & Sara, Another great show! I can relate to you Sara in many ways. I will relisten to The Sewing Machine, I was just thinking about the book. There were a couple mysteries in it if I remember right. I hope that Violet and William are off to a good school year.
I don’t know if you consider this as a skill, but I have a photographic memory, this helps me at work because I can remember where things are in the warehouse, either in the steel or on the floor and what time we would get certain things in.
Thank you so much for sharing your whole and true self with us. You are amazing and your willingness to share your vulnerabilities makes you even more so. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This was a great show. You seem so grounded and confident. I love the addition of the hack. It would be great for crochet hooks, or knitting needles on a notions bag. The first thing I do in the morning is take the dog out. She is not good at waiting.
I missed the show tonight, I went huckleberry picking with my oldest son and we left at 8 am this morning to beat the heat and got home after the show which was 5 pm my time. And promptly fell asleep on the couch.
Sara, thank you for sharing your story. It's inspirational! I am sure it resonates with many people. Before you talked about your story, I thought to myself how much more happy you are exuding. It's written all over your face. All the best to you, Danny & your kids. Thanks again for sharing. 😊
Thanks for sharing your manifesto! Stating your needs is an important skill. Being able to articulate them is a skill, too, and one I have difficulty with. Jan
Thank you for sharing the things you have been learning on your journey It encourages me and probably many others to explore our own possibilities i wake up most mornings stretching and wiggling my way towards a new day of organized tasks , planned and unplanned, new and seasoned experiences Usually coffee
My morning starts with usually laying in bed for a bit... the amount of time depending upon what day it is. M-F is work, but still need that me time in the AM. :)
Hello! First thing in the morning lately I’ve been closing the windows. it’s been getting a bit chilly in the mornings here in California. Have a great month and thank you for all the new patterns. How exciting!!😊
For straps I use several different substrates including seatbelt webbing, cotton webbing, faux leather, cork. I like the look of cotton webbing but generally use it only on summer bags. Winter bags I use seatbelt webbing or other weather resistant materials
You morning manifesto is great my morning routine is shower eat breakfast, brush teeth, walk the dog, go to the gym for a 45 minute workout, come home & sew! For 2-3 hours if no one needs me for anything
I use a variety of materials for straps, depends on the size of the bag, the pattern recommendations, whether I have what I need or will have to buy something, and other factors. I have used good quality cotton webbing in the 1" width the most often. I also bought a few dog leashes that were 1/2" wide to use on some small bags. The leashes came in some pretty colors that really suited my fabric.
I like quilting cotton for straps, but I just made a strap with cotton webbing and quilting cotton and I love it!
