I lived in Bergen for nearly 5 years and moved back to the US. I appreciate these videos because I miss it very much. Fortunately my family still lives there so I get an excuse to go as often as possible
Ahhh the good ol Bergen rain. I spent 4 days in Bergen about a month ago and it rained 3 of the 4 days there. I thought that was just the rainy part of the season, and things would clear up the farther into June and July you got. I just pulled up the weather forecast, and it's calling for rain almost every single day for the next 2 weeks. 3 Kroneren is really good for a cheap meal (about $10 for a drink and a hotdog/weiner), but IMO the best restaurant in Bergen is Fjellskal which is one of the 2 restaurants in the indoor fish market. You will want to make reservations since it fills up fast, but I had the best soup I've ever had in my life there, and the best fish I've ever had in my life there.
cool video tour. i always adore bergen when looking through Google Maps in 3D but never thought the hillside view on Mt. Floyen is really really breathtaking. Wow. But I was even more surprised that it's always raining people wore fashionable rainwear lol
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
I loved Bergen in August of 2022 it is a Amazing place to visit almost a week there. I was Lucky to have sun for 2 of the days there but yes it did rain too and does a lot. I ate at that Fish place in a tent. Lots of fun even had fish soup in that too. I also went up that incline. Lots of fun and another Mountain with a cable car. Views were still amazing up there. If you did there train that goes from the Airport to The Main areas of Bergen or vise versa did you know or hear the train play a little notes of music and then the voice would say the stations name?
Seriously gorgeous shots! Thanks! We are heading to Norway in June and July to see our family who are in Sandefjord, and part of our visit is a drive to the other coast, and a 2 day trip to Bergen and surrounding area. QUCICK QUESTION…. What model drone do you use? Shots were stunning. Do you have to have permission to fly them there?
thank you 😊 we use DJ Mavick Air-2s Drone and we can only fly if permitted, our drone would not fly in restricted zone, hope you have a great trip 😊 Norway is a beautiful country
What time of the year was this filmed? My apologies for not sifting through the comments. I got lazy. 😊 Outstanding filming and production work. I’m heading to Bergen in two weeks and I am really excited. Looking forward to other videos from you. Thanks!
"traditional" haha. As a norwegian from Bergen I've never tasted this in my life. We have reindeer steaks at home sometimes, or a reindeer stew, but pretty sure this hot dog is made just for tourists.
@@welltravelledlife Guess they know reindeer is considered exotic to people outside Norway.. We do have some sausages made from reindeer, - salted dried/smoked meat (Like a Chorizo) typically consumed from a charcuterie board or like beef jerky. At least they don’t market the hotdogs as traditional. Pairing lingonberry with any game meat is however very traditional.
@@peacefulminimalist2028 I love lingonberry. We'll be in Bergen again this summer. We'll probably bypass the hot dogs, but I'm looking forward to the lingonberry! Any hints for doing something special while we're there?
@@welltravelledlife I don’t know what you’ve experienced of Bergen before or how long you’re staying, but the train/fjordcruise called “Norway in a nutshell” is pretty majestic. There are also fjord cruises that leave several times per day from the port. In Aurland there’s also a Viking village/museum where you can experience life in the Viking age. It’s a 3 hour drive from Bergen. In Bergen itself there’s of course the funicular to mount Fløyen, the fish market, Bryggen, the skylift to mount Ulriken, the Bergen aquarium, lots of art exhibitions at KODE, the Fantoft Stavechurch and last but not least Gamle Bergen - which is an outdoor museum that shows how Bergen looked in the old days. It’s a 7-8 minute bus ride from Bryggen. You can enter most of the houses too, like pharmacies, the dentist office and so on. Torgallmenningen is our main town square and you find it by crossing the street from the fish market- there’s a giant statue that will mark the spot. If the weather is nice it’s always an adventure to just stroll around the cobblestoned neighbourhoods at Nordnes.. At the end of Nordnes (10 min walk from the fish market) there’s a park overlooking the Bergen Port and all the ships, very close there’s also an outdoor public swimmingpool and saunas, right at the seashore. Another well visited place is the home of our well known composer Edvard Grieg, at Troldhaugen, there are guided tours. Hope you got some ideas, and that you will enjoy the stay here - also that the weather will be good, you never know in Bergen 😊
@@peacefulminimalist2028 We're pretty familiar with everything you've mentioned, but it's really nice to have the ideas we've had reinforced. I'm really trying to make the Myrdal - Flam train ride, but the schedules aren't working out as I like, and I think hiring a driver to Flam and from Myrdal might just be too expensive to justify. It may be easier for us to get to Aurland from Eidfjord where we'll be for a couple days. My hubs would really love that, and he'd appreciate a bit of history since I tend to try to do a lot of hiking, kayaking, swimming, waterfall and wildlife watching (which he loves too, but I tend to leave out the museums, galleries and libraries). We'll dress for whatever Bergen gives us - last year we had sunny skies and glassy seas!
Hi...I'm going to Norway in a couple of weeks and I'm also interested to take Drone shots. Did you guys also need to get permits, insurance, certificates etc to fly your drones? Thanks.
As long as you fly within regulations (not in geo zones and airports) you should be all good, just make sure to look around before because most of the time if there is no fly zone there will be a sign that says no drones
@@DylanBrianVlogs Thanks! So just to clarify no need to obtain any permits or insurance? I also saw the nice drone shots but there were people around...so it was ok? No issues?
we are not sure but "Lille Lungegårdsvannet or Smålungeren is a small 5 acres (0.020 km2) lake in the centre of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway" maybe one of those?

No, sadly we did not use the train (although it sounds fun) because we rented a car for the trip. I'm glad you had a great time in Norway!
I love Norway
No, you don't see all of Bergen from Fløyen, but much. 🙂 Great video!
