I'm from cape Town living in Johannesburg now but I'm yet to experience or understand this pace or fast pace of Johannesburg, the only thing I've noticed is that the sun sets early in Johannesburg at before 6pm which is really wierd and I hate that and people wake up earlier in Jhb but I guess because their day is really short, example in cape Town I work from 9 to 6 or 7 but in Johannesburg in can't leave the office at 6 because it's dark already which is really frustrating. But I'm still yet to experience or see this fast pace people of Johannesburg keep on talking about

I found this very helpful before I come visit both cities. I am excited to experience what each city has to offer, especially I grew up in a very diverse city in California, and then moved to a not so diverse city in Georgia, USA. The 'stereotypical advice' I was told was that I should spend 'more time in Cape Town and avoid Joburg'. WHAT??? Made no sense to me. Joburg in my opinion is the epi-center of history and culture and life of S.A. in a positive way. It was interesting to hear what you had to say about both cities and then compare it to what people from my country told me about both cities. I will see for myself when I arrive. I am looking forward to my experiences in your beautiful cities. Thank you for your honest opinion and sharing it with the world.
Thanks for addressing the racial difference between the two cities. Just don't let white people dominate South Africa/Africa. That fact that you said the white people are nicer in Joburg than CT tells me Cape Town is more racist and the structure of things has a lot to do with race. White people are natural born conquerors and they show their true colors when they don't have to be nice. White people are all about looking out for their people/white first above anything else/equality. This means they will build business in CT, hire only white people for important $$$ position and hire black people for slave labor, while trying not to look racist by employing blacks. I saw the Tariq Nasheed video on South Africa truth. BLACK PEOPLE, you can't let white people dominate AFRICA as a whole, they already dominate the rest of the world. When will you get tired of being treated like second class citizen and less than equal around the world and even in your own countries???!!! I'm tell you black people, Julius Malema is your only hope in South Africa in the long run. He is willing to fight racism and actually do something about it. He is the racist white man's worst nightmare in SA.
I agree and thats what i was thinking apparently in Cape town the municipality there controls how many black people are allowed to buy property there in cape town no matter the financial position. They have turned south african heritage day to braai day because they don't have any culture besides conolzing
If you can drive in Jo'burg... you can drive anywhere in the world. Standard!!! Jo'burg driving you need an advance driving course. Taxi to CBD dont play... I love jozi maboneng
Even me! grew up in JHB, went to Wits for a year then ended up at UCT and was shook. The difference can be seen at both Universities as well. I couldn't believe I was still in an African city. If I went out in JHB I would probably be 1 in 6 white people at a party, as per demographics of the country obvs. But in Cape Town, wow, the inverse is palpable. My dad and my oupa still calls it 'the colony' or 'die kolonie' (my whole family is Afrikaans, we are all v white, which makes this more about the Anglo-Boer War). Thought it was too on the noes when my dad said that. JHB is a better city than CPT. full stop. soz for the rant.
im from jhb and went to work in CT. I was shocked that the traffic in cbd is worse than jhb.literally takes an hour to get out if cbd during peak hours.I agree that white ppl in CT are not friendly as whites in jhb and pta. I hated CT so much that I left my job there in less than one month and returned to jhb.also, at work I found CT is still backward e.g. no flexible time, lunch breaks, had to be at work at 8am
The things about Cape Town are kinda true.As wonderful as it is.Cape Town is not the only great thing about South Africa. And I get angry when people say it is safe.I have lived in the Northern Cape but moved to Cape Town a few years ago.I loved Cape Town when I visited. But when I started to live here in Cape Town.I do not think of it the same way.The mountain and beach gets boring. But is tourist place.I get angry when people criticize Durban,Pretoria and Port Elizabeth.Pretoria and Port Elizabeth gets bad press for being boring.Durban gets bad press for being dangerous are smells bad.But I know those cities are great too.I just wish people could learn to appreciate. And don't have unrealistic expectations about the lifestyle.Cape Town is not really the clean and safe place you think. There are parts that are dirty and ugly. And there is a lot of crime. But if I say talk about how dangerous Cape Town is I am not only ruining the city but also the country
Hi Sibu, it has been 5 years since you put out this video. This video has transformed my life. Can you kindly please put out a follow up or reflection video on this? It would really capture the essence of all you mention in the video! Thank you in advance, much love.
Wow I'm currently studying in CPT and the segregation is in your face you know. Sometimes it feels like CPT is just a nice tourist place only because of all the beautiful places you can visit, it's nice because of that. You have to have money to see the good side of this city. I hated cpt when I got here, my faith helped a lot coz after a while I just felt really uncomfortable living with resentment in my heart for a place I'm always in. So I decided to explore the other sides of cpt and there are good place and there are places you have to be extra careful, not in a way that gives away that you scared. Believing that my safety is really in God helps get out of Res. Now I don't hate it at all but I won't settle here. The transport system is another problem sometimes. I never used a train back in JHB but because its fast (sometimes) here in CPT I use it everyday. At first it was uncomfortable but now I enjoy it more that taking a bus or a taxi. I guess for me there is more tension in the bus, sometimes you feel like people don't want to use it but they don't have a choice coz the transport system is just not good. Thanks for the video ❤️❤️
Cape Town is like an apartheid museum HAHAHAHHA true.Im actually more fearful in Cape Town because i'm always scared that a racial incident might happen to me :(
MissG Ndlovu coloured people are literally indigenous - the ‘coloured race’ was made in South Africa when all different races mixed, we didn’t move here from any other region. Most of our ancestry comes from the indigenous Khoisan people
@@cody_dbn what about Cape Malay what about the Asiatic People from Madagascar and Mauritius? What about the interracial genes? What about the Indians? Seek knowledge before talking.
Sebs Wa Afrika ZA Whats any of that got to do with coloureds not being indigenous? Cape Malays aren’t cape coloureds. Indians aren’t coloureds either. What about interracial genes? Just because you have interracial ancestry that don’t mean you weren’t born in South Africa? Most coloured peoples ancestry is Khoisan. What you said hasn’t disproved my point in the slightest.
Hey I wanna go to South Africa for my gap year and I don't know if I wanna go to cape town or joburg. What would you recommend (I'm black/eastafrican btw). The school I will work at in joburg is predominantly white bur still diverse tho whereas in cape town its very black. idk if this info is important but idk where to go lmao
Great video. Im coloured and first time I went to Jozi when I was younger it was the first thing I noticed as back.in eighties early nineties one did not see that many black professionals in CT bearing in mind I was teen/student then... and then going to Jozi and seeing.sophisticated proper black people back then was ok this is different. But in Jozi I find the opinion of coloured people some times can be that we are thieves. Why I would want to work for a short period in Jozi is I love the entrepeneurship and confidence in the city
That was very informative. The longer people live with one another, the better they will tend to get along. Eventually they become like each other and become one people. I don't know anything about the history of South Africa, but I wonder if Joburg has had a longer history of living in a bi-racial society?
I went to joburg once for 3 days and that was only to get my passport to come to the USA I really need to check it out because I never knew there was so much differences between the two cities
This is interesting to me. I'm white and from Cape Town and don't really know too much about Joburg. My main interaction with a black person is my cleaning lady who is actually Zimbabwean. She is amazing. I have one black friend but whenever something goes wrong she thinks it has something to do with the colour of her skin but it's really not. It seems like the pain and poverty is somehow inside some South African people of colour, whereas, Zimbabwean's aren't affected by it internally. I just wish it could all be managed differently. I probably could quite easily marry a black man... provided he knew the Lord.
Claire Marshel you sound like an annoying person and I hope your black "friend" stays away from you. Hopefully no black man marries you and procreates with you because those children would probably be lost.
Thanks for your real answer Claire... I think if more of us speak and learn openmindedly things will get better... on the other hand I wish there was a way we could have a internet without the hater and people like that below.
I am so glad there is no sewerage pouring out of the pavements in Cape Town, like one experiences in Johannesburg, oh! By the way, all restaurants accept all races in Cape Town, in case you missed that!!
I love your new videos, the vlogs and challenges, but I miss these videos from you. I am a South African living abroad and love your view of things in SA. Keep up the good work.
eh bruh you think cape town is bad? try going to St Francis Bay, wow, was there for a week with some friends and i think i saw under 10 other black people that were not employees, beautiful place but quite a jarring experience
I think the last time I was in JHB was over a year ago and when my hosts and I ate out the way that black people there occupy spaces was one of the first things I noticed. And upon mentioning this to a Jo'burger they were shocked because when they visited CPT they sought out spaces that were similar to those that they frequented in JHB. Which sadly in CPT is largely occupied by black people working there, not living. Cape Town = apartheid museum is by. far the most accurate description I've ever heard fot this place especially relative to JHB
Okay Sbu...this video surprised me profoundly!! Yet Again I haven't been to Cape Town as in live Ever!! So your review about Jozi surprised me...or maybe I've been just ignorant.
But Sandton still has potholes and broken roads and grass is not cut on the sides trees branches are over lapping into the road, I guess I expected more from Jhb since media overhyped it
I agree with you except for one thing you have not mentioned. Interactingwith the local government/municipality. Cape Town is soo much better than JHB in that regard. JHB municipality feels like a rabit hole.
"Young people of colour are well off" 04:00 Might be true, but I am concerned about conspicuous consumption. Their spending on fancy goods, clothes, and cars is mostly irrational and unsustainable.

But I'm still yet to experience or see this fast pace people of Johannesburg keep on talking about
@@ntsikelelomadikane6649 😂 😂 😂 finally.. Thank you my friend. Also from capetown and unfortunately residing in Pretoria.. 5 years now and honestly i dont see or feel this so called pace.. I need someone to explain where is this pace.
💯 Correct someone told once tht is from jhb.. Sunsets its captwn an hour later meanin night life in GP begin. Now with tht they think life here is faster 😂 😂 😂 wht a joke
Coz here im struggling aswel.. To get things done. Same as in capetown. So what is the fuzz all about shame
I hate it when people rubbish Joburg. I find it to be a lovely vibey city.
I'm tell you black people, Julius Malema
is your only hope in South Africa in the long run.
First of all Cape Town is not the whitest city.Pretoria is.Just keep that in mind
Was in Jozi for only 1 week and I can agree with everything you're saying here 100%
If you can drive in Jo'burg... you can drive anywhere in the world. Standard!!! Jo'burg driving you need an advance driving course. Taxi to CBD dont play... I love jozi maboneng
😂😂this is true...
Its quiet trick but if you can master driving around joburg more specifically CBD hai shame😂😂👌
Even me! grew up in JHB, went to Wits for a year then ended up at UCT and was shook.
Wow dude - I am been looking for a fresh perspective and this is it man! Thank you for sharing : )
I enjoyed this. I'm also from Cape Town and everything you spoke about is so true
that last one is totally true, people talk more languages in Jozi
Thank you.. I was trying to decide which one to visit.. Joburg it is
Joburg is the place to be
I am staying in Cape Town, you are definitely right. You know exactly what you are talking about.
Thank you for your honesty.
You are right but cape town is mainly home to colored population.
Is white a color??
Hi Sibu, it has been 5 years since you put out this video. This video has transformed my life. Can you kindly please put out a follow up or reflection video on this? It would really capture the essence of all you mention in the video! Thank you in advance, much love.
South African living in Perth.I liked your video.Thumbs up.
So Joburg is the same as Johannasburg?
Joburg is just short for Johannesburg
Carlos Uquillas yessir
Or Jozi and Egoli
I love your bomber jackets man lol. And the videos aint bad either :p Keep em coming
Didn't think I would agree with anything and landed up agreeing 100%
Brown nosing until Malema takes over.
Spot on. Esp number 1...I'm from JHB and literally, that is the biggest shock factor everytime I go home! 😞
Cape Town is like an apartheid museum HAHAHAHHA true.Im actually more fearful in Cape Town because i'm always scared that a racial incident might happen to me :(
well the majority are indigenous coloured people.
@@gmail7866 😂😂😂 indigenous 😂😂😂 coloured today and koi 2morrow
Whites aren't in the middle. They are mostly in the western parts of Cape Town.Once you go more to the east the darker the people get.
New subbie :) Very impressed with the quality of content you put up. Brief,to the point & very entertaining!
WOW!!! The further you go out of the circle... the darker the people get! WOW!!!
"the further you got out the circle the darker people get" LMAO
Great Video, Your presentation was quick and eye opening. All the best!!
That was very informative. The longer people live with one another, the better they will tend to get along. Eventually they become like each other and become one people.
I don't know anything about the history of South Africa, but I wonder if Joburg has had a longer history of living in a bi-racial society?
As I prepare to visit, by doing research first, this video was helpful and comical.
Pleasure!
Don't mind the above hater. Your answer was lit
Claire Marshel are you beautiful? we can negotiate a wedding
If that person really is your friend. You wouldn't just discount her feelings about things happening to her.
If im going ti S africa to visit better to go to joburg? Im a mauritian black please advice i may go. In dec
it's true.born in ct.the whites are more uptight there.the further north you go they more open to others
Is JHB faster then CT?
3-10 times faster
Yea
Oh yeah. We call Metrorail MetroFail in Cape Town.
Mark Baadjies yet some of your family members have curly hair or maybe you do to.
can you just elaborate on how crazy the hobos in cape town are , theyre like CRAZY crazy
Lol "the white people in jhb are much for more nicer than white people in cpt" 😂.
Rubbish!
Its true
You hot mama, holla at me real quick
Cape Town Whites got superiority complex.
The white people in Cape Town think they are better.
Morning!
Happy VEDIM kids 💛
Sibu MpanzaSA hello
Cape Town feels like an international city. joburg feels like the car jacking capital of the world.
cape town is a murder capital of the world. let that sink in
Typical Cape delusions of grandeur. Cape Town is a murder capital of SA
eh bruh you think cape town is bad? try going to St Francis Bay, wow, was there for a week with some friends and i think i saw under 10 other black people that were not employees, beautiful place but quite a jarring experience
The majority are coloured, are you not just being racist and never bothered to try to blend in.
hi bro great video just got a new sub. from Barbados 🇧🇧🇧🇧
What are you Sibu Black?
Thanks for the video. How do safety levels compare in terms of criminal activities
Okay Sbu...this video surprised me profoundly!! Yet Again I haven't been to Cape Town as in live Ever!! So your review about Jozi surprised me...or maybe I've been just ignorant.
The streets in Jozi are suuuuper dirty... I mean... unless u are in Sandton 🙄🙄
come to CT, its mostly clean because it has to look nice for the tourists
But Sandton still has potholes and broken roads and grass is not cut on the sides trees branches are over lapping into the road, I guess I expected more from Jhb since media overhyped it
I agree with you except for one thing you have not mentioned. Interactingwith the local government/municipality. Cape Town is soo much better than JHB in that regard. JHB municipality feels like a rabit hole.
"Young people of colour are well off" 04:00 Might be true, but I am concerned about conspicuous consumption. Their spending on fancy goods, clothes, and cars is mostly irrational and unsustainable.
It's all true shame what you say about Cape Town - Sad but true🙈🙈🙈 Still love Cape Town though; it's become like my second home🙂
I love that you love our city ♡ Definitely would love to see more work with Anarchadium and some stuff on location.
Like who's disliking these videos, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?
Capetownians obviously
Joburg is more cosmopolitan than Cape Town
johan looks super huge and cape town looks really nice and advanced esp for africa.
What about the smaller towns? Everybody wants to live in the big cities that are so overcrowded.
is joburg the same s johanusbug
jasmin poudlard Lawl Yes Jo’burg is short for Johannesburg.
Everyone always hating on Cape Town..we don’t compare or even talk about joburgers so why you worried about us?if you don’t like Cape Town then don’t come here it’s as simple as that.
Im a capetonian.
Everyone hating Cape Town.C'mon you only watched this video.Cape Town is a very dangerous city. And as wonderful as it is.It is actually messed up and tearing itself apart
i'm trying to plan a honeymoon and i'm not sure which place to visit...help!? We enjoy seeing a country for how it is but with some comfort and of course safety
Cape Town is an apartheid museum 😂😂😂
If District 6 residents wasn't weren't kicked out ,it maybe could've rivalled Sandton just maybe.
You right
Totally agree
Joburg is life
Li have definitely made my decision now joburg here I come
Cape Town sucks big time...you're spot on bro...
i love your accent
Thank you for making this video and blessing my life 😍
Metrorail is a train smash LOL
Leslie Javan Gautrain you mean? It's the fastest train in Africa.
Did he just say gautrain is affordable? 😂😂😂😂😂
Cape town sounds like America lol
They think its Europe.
