I just wanted to say; I’ve been watching your videos since your Shore review, and I’ve come to really respect and look up to you as a person. I love your willingness to grow and adapt to the next generation in a very mindful and authentic way. You strive to understand, and if you don’t understand, at least appreciate. It sounds silly to say as a 26 year old, but I wanna be like you when I grow up lol Your style of review is remarkable to me, because you stretch yourself as a person while listening to music and show that process in the video. Perhaps it’s your natural inclination as a professor, but you teach me to be a better person while talking about music. This is its own form of art to you, it’s evident and Wonderful! Thanks for your contribution! -Kaleb
You're such a good speaker man, and great music taste. You earned a sub:) Btw I am 18, a huge Wu Tang fan and I'm a fan of brockhampton as well. They have a lot of the same appeal for sure.
I just want to say, I aspire to be as open and understanding adult as I grow older like you are, big respect and appreciation to you sir, you're a cool dad
You have a way with words man, glad you liked the album. Also, really enjoyed the analysis of the group and how they compare and contrast to others like them. Great review 👍
This is the first time hearing Brock and I really love it and apreciate hearing more of them. Im looking foward for hearing saruration but i find this album so intimate and mature. It make me happy how you told that you are happy to be alive in this times to hear this beautiful music. Thanks for the review, really like it and the things you show that i didnt notice at all. Good review
7:26 i think for me - i'm 16 - the idea of creating a group made up of friends from school and online places to make music or to just hone in on creative things is very appealing to me. obviously i can't speak for your daughter but them having the relationship to the online world/social media in the same way that i do gives me some sort of relatablity to them and allows me to have a greater connection to what they're saying in their songs. looking back on this it doesn't really make much sense but i guess to sum up having the same generational connection provides relatablity
As a zoomer (20, turning 21 this year), I’m a fan of Wu, albeit not a diehard. I’m a huge fan of Brock and Hampton though, been here since Saturation 1 and have loved their progression over time.
Excellent review. The light obviously means different things through the album but specifically on The Light Part II it’s interpreted differently between members through their beautiful verses. Kevin talks about how his mother thinks if he saw the light (Christ) he’d almost “snap out of it” and stop being gay. I don’t think Joba’s so much referring to the light as heaven in his verse, but more about the light as the good times in life that are so hard to foresee when one is going through a difficult period. Also I’ll Take You On and Old News are bangers/ bops!
Love the review! If you haven't already you should listen to their trilogy of albums Saturation I, II and III that came before Iridescence. I think you would really like them as they are more hip hop and less pop. :)
DEAR LORD is a lot more impactful when you know Bearface (the member that sings it) wrote it for Joba
Wow. I didn't know that and just reading your comment choked me up.
RZA came and listened to the album in full before it came out, and they have plans of a potential Merlyn Wood album produced by him
How did you hear about a Merlyn album?
@@joshcasper. They said something about it in a group interview around Roadrunner dropping idk what video it’s been a while

I would say that they are very post Odd Future too. That group basically wrote the Zoomer generation music collective blue print in the Wu-Tang vein.

I love the passion you show talking about songs that connected with you and being honest about the ones that didn’t really hit.
Best review of this album on youtube by far. Extremely in-depth and intellectual. Good stuff!

Zoom Tang Clan is the best description I've ever heard for BH
If they can get a Kanye feature on their final album this year, everything would be complete

wu's dope but tang is outstanding

Does this mean Odd Future is Wu-Tang for late millennials?
U nailed it kevin always compared brockhampton to wu tang
Nice looney tunes pic and wutang shirt in the background haha

I would love to see a video about them
haha i remember Sweaty Reviews. good times
You are one of the few remaining “sweatshirts!”
watch at 1.25 speed. sounds like a rabid lecture.
You should do a review of their Technical Difficulties songs from early 2020. They are all on youtube.
Please, PLEASE don’t eat up the chipmunk!
goddamn will you love merlyn in the saturation trilogy
The Band defintely has some women involved like Blossom and Deb Never but they've never been an actual part of the group.
Blossom is non binary so idk bro
@@atmbcito You right my bad, I forgot that. it would have been more accurate to say women and non-binary people.
@@atmbcito or maybe femme people?
I love how hip you are to things. Great content, keep it coming! Please get into Death Grips!!!!!
Bruh
Ive always said that to me Brockhampton are as strong as a group and as individuals as Wu-Tang
Pretty much agree but I would say the Zoomer Generation is more like 5-25 years old right now. Also as a Gen-Z/Zoomer I love Wu-Tang.
Jofa
Please tell me you've listened to the Saturation trilogy.
"Zoom-tang clan" is spot on. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the next generation of bands said they met on zoom.
