About
We’re Sarah and Lee, a 40+ married couple from the UK. Sarah has lived with a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis for several years and Lee has additional health concerns creeping in. We jointly decided that life is too short, so we sold our home, quit our jobs and are searching for a place where, what money we do have affords us adventure, wellbeing, good healthcare and better quality of life without the 9-5.
Join us as we check out the sights and scout for a place to live long term and aim to create helpful and informative content as we live in and explore unfamiliar lands.

Many foreigners come to malaysia for healthcare. Main reason was cheap and the equipments here are good too
The service at the hospital was excellent! Thank you for watching :-)
I live in Melbourne AUSTRALIA. On one visit, my son had high fever & wasn’t well & took him to a large private hospital in Cheras. Service was great and not too long to wait either. Son got better & hospital expenses was covered by travel insurance. Important thing is you can walk in to a hospital to see a specialist, unlike in western countries where referral is needed prior & wait weeks for appointment. Even a national very good specialist. Just arrive early!
Totally agree! the speed of tests and results was impressive. Hopefully we're done with hospitals for a while 🤞
What? Is it really true that you need to wait weeks to see a doctor? Even for the flu or a fever?
Never know that the Mid-Valley mall has a medical centre. The most of the medical facilities I am familiar with are often located in their own private buildings, but this one appears to be just as nice and well-equipped as the others. In Malaysia, there are more than 200 medical facilities. Some are widely recognized for drawing foreign visitors to the area for medical examinations. I am happy to hear that both of you are healthy.
Thank you, we were spoilt for choice as there is so many private healthcare providers. We just chose the closest to us with the best reviews (didn't know it was in a mall until we got there!)
Well... as a local, I just go to one of the public hospitals where everything is pretty much free of charge. Same quality doctors/specialists with generally more up to date equipment since it's funded by the government :)
Very reasonable price.. 😊
Ranking for medical tourism in the world
1. Malaysia
2. France
3. Thailand
Thanks for this, we went to France for an MRI last year. Not any cheaper than the UK but the technology is much better, we'll be trying out Thailand on our travels!
@@Gettinglostin I heard thailand is strong in dental treatment.
@Gettinglostin most doctors in malaysia are trained in uk, Ireland, usa. Some also in india and local colleges. Even our pm, the wife is from the Royal college of surgeons, Ireland.
@Gettinglostin the first n95 mask was introduced by a penang doctor during colonial period. His name is Dr wu lien teh. With the mask, he helped to end the manchuria plague. He was suppose to be able to receive Nobel prize for medicine, those days it is for white people only.
Tertinggal satu lagi. Indonesia
Private hospitals are usually in Malaysia, the employees are very good in English. The recruitment of employees must be good in English compared to the government sector.
The service at the hospital and the doctors surgery was excellent
Cuma English ko yg tak berapa bagus.. Mungkin ko kerja kerajaan kot. 😜

If you guys are up for it, take a 2 hr bus ride to Malacca. Rustic old historical city quite unlike KL but avoid weekends and public holidays. Have fun.
