HOW MANY MULLIGANS DOES IT TAKE ME TO SHOOT THE PERFECT ROUND?! (Maple Hill Gold)

- What a round! Perfection and Golf don't really go together. But I wanted to find out how many mulligans it would take me to shoot the perfect round on one of the toughest courses in the world. Maple Golds is very unforgiving and a handful of these holes could easily ruin anyones round.
“I turned over my PD2 a little too much here.”
Things I will never say. 🤷🏻♂️
Imagine having to worry about that😂
This course looks incredible! We got to play it.
Brodie Smith excited to see you play this season!
You'll be playing it since you're on tour now Brodie. Good luck, hope you do well. This is a bucket list course for me. Also, I don't trust "lyin Ted"'s comment for some reason. Lol
Played it in June! The sole purpose of the trip was to play this course. Just rated #1 course in the US by UDisc!
You taking people to go with you?
Looks like a great course to let the Juice loose.
This video was a fantastic idea. Also loved the voiceover commentary. I have no idea how you are being so productive, but I'm loving it. Keep up the great content!
Loren Barnhurst Simon is a humble beast
Past Simon: I'm going to let Future Simon do the commentary
Future Simon: Thanks Past Simon, so on this hole, I wante--
Past Simon: That's a mulligan for sure!
Future Simon: Okay first of all, I have feelings...
I enjoyed the voice over + quiet course audio. Hearing a bit of your on course chat keeps the Simon vlog feel
Simon, thank you for taking the time to put this together! It's the perfect substitute for the lack of winter disc golf coverage! If you feel so inclined, please do this again and again!
Four top pros playing a "perfect mulligan" round against each other would be good viewing.
Paging Jomez and CCDG
Seriously, who doesn't freakin' love this guy?
8. 8 people don't like this guy. Not sure why...
Probably people who don't like disc golf
Simon's smile and passion for the game is infectious. I'd seriously love to play a round with him despite being significantly outclassed, simply because he seems like he's be fun to hang around.
Plus I'm sure I'd learn something! :)
his competitors? just kidding, I'm sure even they like him.
Please do these on other cources too, Simon. I really enjoyed this format.
Man solo against Maple Gold! All while filming. Middle of winter on the East Coast. Not easy. Heroic effort! Your putting looking SO solid. Highly entertaining and great insights!! Thanks so much for doing this!
I love this type of content. Every shot of a top 5 player in the world with commentary and insights all under 20 minutes! Simon (clap clap) Simon (clap clap) Simon (clap clap)!
I am definitely going to go try this at my home course.
Awesome video again Simon! Your content this year has been phenomenal! Keep up the awesome work man, can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for the Sky God!
5:05 Are you waving to the crowd??
jps121 lol yeah.. it’s part of my routine now 😅
@@SimonLizotte8332 i do it too, after every shitty shot i throw...so lots of waves during the round to no one...
Really puts into perspective how hard this course is
I absolutely adore the like to dislike ratio on Simon's videos lol. Probably THE most adored DG content on UA-cam
Would love to see Paul’s attempt at this challenge on the same course!
Thanks Simon. I really liked how you were including which disc and why. Would love to see you do a round and talk about each disc choice and what you’re plan is to do with it.
You are really doing a GREAT JOB on the content choices, following up with Producing it in a very professional and desirable watch! Best of everything in 2020!
2 years later from 40k subscribers to almost 150k! Props on all your hard work on these videos. You always produce good clean entertainment!
Paul McBeth mulligan challenge score: 0
Haha nice round man, the fact that you can even birdie some of these holes, mulligans or no, is really impressive
I would love to see these types of challenges on a bunch of the big time event courses. Really cool to see how attackable a course like this is for a pro.
I can’t wait to see the Sky God 3! I just got my Sky God 2 in the mail. Both 1 & 2 are beautiful discs. Almost don’t even want to throw them. I’m going to try to make it out to one of the tournaments during the Texas swing so you can sign them. Fingers crossed 🤞
I threw my Sky God 2 onto a roof over summer and didn't get it back for 2 weeks - it getting sun bleached only made it even prettier imo. It looks more like Simon's SG2s which made me realize just how much disc golf the man must play for his discs to change color like that naturally
I think I might try this. Looks like a good way to practice and get some excercise! Thank you for your videos!
Not to mention he was lugging and setting a camera with him the entire round... Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
This is seriously such a cool idea, its fun/educational to see how you tackle this challenge! Keep this kind of content coming, loving it!!
Simon: Im not going to talk im going to take it serious
Also Simon: Talks and we can hardly hear it
Future Simon: Repeats Past Simon
(side note: Nice job! I don't think I would make it out of Maple Hills alive even if I had unlimited Mulligans XD)
Radical challenge for you Simon. Play the course backwards, throw from pin, land on tee.
:)
Simon just has to talk. Can't help himself. Loved the video Mr. Lays-Up
Always fun to watch Simon! The Upshot interview was great. Very easy to like this man. Thanks for the fun material and excited for more this season! And the commentary from Lizotte from the future is a great touch
Aside from being fun to watch, your content is just really well made. Looking forward to watching you in person at The Memorial this year!
Definitely would like to see more of this format Simon, great vid!
Hey Simon. Can you please make a video on how you do your stand still spin putt:-)
I loved this video and would love to see you do more of these. Thanks for ideas on practicing a little differently
Enjoyed this very much and want to say thanks for your videos and I use your tips and your advice on improving my game
I’d very much like to see you DO THIS AGAIN in a future blog. Keep up the awesome content!
I loved the format of this video! Very smooth all the way around. Keep it up!
Good mental game training! Fantastic video.
I actually thought you meant "mulligan" by restarting the course every time you didn't get a birdie. I was like, " oh please, PLEASE do not do that to yourself at maple hill. Your arm would be a noodle..." haha thanks for the content Lizotte.
great video love this format hope you do it again soon on another course
I love ur commentary! Please more vidoes like this
Love this course! Cant wait to play it again when I head back north to visit family! Miss living an hour away from it for sure
Fun video idea, Simon! Keep up he great work! We all appreciate the great videos
I would like to see more interaction between future and past simon.🤣🤣🤣
The contents just get better and better! You are a one-man youtube army!
Great vid, keep em comin, do some more stuff with Brodie and you'll get to 200k in no time ! I did my second ever training with crappy (probably rubber ?) beginner set. I made 1 nice and controlled hyzer shot, for 70+ meters in an hour of trying. Which is way less than I expected, and probably way more than I should expect :D But its super fun, gonna get some real discs in spring, watched Simon & Eagle drive clinic like 100 times, gonna keep going ;)
Awesome video! Love that you still had little things to say while throwing so in a way we got double Simon commentary. The voiceover is a great idea. Keeps the action flowing.
Awesome video Simon, keep doing them, same format and the commentary over is better, than listening you talking in the course. Im gunna try the same challenge at home.
That was amazing highly entertaining! I would love to see more like this.
I'm fairly sure that if I stayed there until I birdied every hole I would literally die there. awesome video, as usual.
That course looks insane. I would need a million mulligans just to shoot par
Best dg vlog. And it’s not even close.
Love watching you at Maple Hill.
I think I'd have needed a couple weeks and about 983 mulligans... cause I'd have had to throw it in from about 180' on half the holes. Great concept for a video, and great execution.
Thanks for this Simon!!! 40 year old has-been here and I love your videos!
40?plenty of time to be again
Awesome round. Those tree hits show that you are human too! 😂💪🏼
Don't let that get in your way though, win this 2020 for your fans. 😃💪🏼
Great job. Love the videos. Keep it up and good luck this season
Great idea! I would love to see this same style on other courses!
You mentioned on Instagram that you might be looking to move somewhere else with different courses to practice on. I can't remember where you said you wanted suggestions, but this is me suggesting northwest Oregon. Never heard of Disc Golf until my husband and I moved here, we've been able to play most of the year without it getting too cold. Good luck with your search!
This is such a unique challenge. A lot of risk/reward involved. I hope you attempt it again. If it weren’t for the bad skip on hole 6 and having to hit such a long put on hole 7, you would have been super close.
Good job man i like the creativity with your videos keep em coming keep practicing stay positive
Love this video idea. I hope you do more of these (on different courses) and make it a challenge to try and get to 18 or less mulligans.
Awesome!
For me, this type of round is great for practice!
The definition of a Mulligan is 'Throwing three, as in first throw (throwing one), re-tee (throwing two) and the mulligan (throwing three). So, by definition, a perfect round can't ever be thrown using mulligans. Sorry Simon. You're still the man. Now, cue the haters And yes, I know what he meant). Cheers, D.
Awesome video idea Simon! Next season see if you can beat it (if you're still in Boston). Maybe consider buying a better mic for your voice overs next year!
Doesn't matter how many mulligans you give me, I wouldn't be able to birdie 75% of that course. Lol
Thanks for the great video! I really enjoyed the commentary!!! Really looking forward to this season #beatpaul 😝
Simon, if you worked this alone, it's an extrordinary effort & time committment.
Playing there tomorrow Simon. Awesome video as always!
One of your best ideas. I like the golf with the commentary. Could try it at easier courses maybe?
If I could throw half as far as u I'd b killin it! Cool video!!👍
If i were to try this, there would be so many mulligans that id have to rent a camper van and spend a few weeks in the course..
Simon, could you try to get more pro players do the same for a comparison? would love to see what it would take for all of you.
Really enjoyed this video! Loving your vlog lately and just subscribed!
Thanks for the video! Watching now!
Awesome video!!! Would love to see you try this challenge again maybe on some different courses!!
Another great video! Keep it up man!
Best disc golf video ever!
So I just started playing disc golf! And I like how you put a picture of the hole on the drive. You think in your edits you can do a line on the picture the flight your disc took? Hard to see sometimes when you just smash them on long holes!
I heard Mcbeth attempted this challenge at a couple tournaments a year to year and a half ago...
Loving the content! Can we get a video with Brodie and Paul soon?😄
Are you still putting with P2s? I think I remember you saying in a vlog you're thinking of switching to P1x
Great video👌
lol wow this is actually pretty cool. maybe i should try this.
only instead of the "perfect" round, i'll do a "par" round lol
Try "The Preserve" North Port Charlotte, Florida it is tight: yet leaves the taste of this could have been the round of the Gods. My best is a 2 under but I suck average is 5 over. I'ts a busy place lately but it's my favorite when I'm out there solo just soaking up nature.
Simon and Simon, fun stuff. Cool to see this course empty apart from Simon doing his thing.
Love this idea!!
You should try Hiittenharju disc golf course in Finland, Harjavalta😊 i think it is one of the hardest courses in finland, rated as aaa1😊 there is 2 holes that are par 5, one if the is like 270 meters, and another one is 305😊 heavy forest, tight fairway😊 if you go to forest, you will get lost rather than finding way to basket😁
Crazy to see him on the same course shooting 11 under in tournament
This would be an interesting adjustment to golf scoring.
Take a stroke off every hole’s par (just to avoid saying “you have to get birdies”) and then you MUST make par on every hole. And your score is how many mulligans you have to take.
So much strategy.
Awesome concept!
Hey simon! Was wondering whats the difference between discmania Power Drivers, Distance Drivers, and Control Drivers? New to the company, or anyone else who might know? I know what fairway drivers offer just wanted to know the difference between the other 3. Thankyou
P.s tried to look it up online but no help
Awesome video, I'd watch a ton of these if you made more. Subbed!
Hope I don't get stuck behind someone trying this at my home course 😂 that being said at i want to try it now. Probably take me 20 mulligans and most of the holes are only 200 ft.
Do you know how great it is to turn on UA-cam and see a new post by you? It's awesome!
2020 in the bag coming when?
I struggle to find comfortable pants to wear while throwing in cold weather. What kind of pants are those you are wearing?
Why does future Simon kinda sound like Eagle at the start?
If you have time you should come down to Akron Pennsylvania and play the back 18 of the 27 at roland park very challenging reminds me of maple
If i would try this i would need probably 5 trucks loaded with discs and i would still be in the woods throwing;) whats the course record? awesome course vlog Simon;) greetings all the way from Norway. (im a 3.4 hcp golfer whos just picked up disc golf;)
