So glad to see a video about paint brands from an Australian and I love that you gave a value option too. I've been looking for some paint reccomendations as I'm branching out from my $3/tube very transparent Officeworks branded paints and would love to support Australian businesses rather than buying from overseas on Amazon. Your paintings are absolutely stunning (as I'm sure you already know!)
Have you tried Holcroft impasto paints (mostly found from Riot Art)? They are Aust made too, much cheaper and the colours are fabulous. Matisse does have the edge but only on a few colours. To be honest it is really hard to tell the difference between those two. People often ask what paints I use for the vibrancy and coverage.
Hi Clair, how does the golden quin nickel azo compare to Matisse Australian sienna? They look really similar in the swatches I've seen and I'm trying to narrow down the shopping basket 😅 ordering all the way from Fiji & shipping (+ exchange rate) are a killer so lots of research beforehand. Definitely picking up some of your favorites, tysm!!
check the pigment number. but nothing compares to real nickel azo yellow. the pigment properties can’t be replaced by any one color. nickel azo yellow is ochre-ish in mass tone, and turns a beautiful bright mixing yellow in washes. nickel azo yellow + phtalo green mixes into the famous green gold color
Me gustan mucho tus paisajes con tu estilo tan particular , me da mucha rabia no entender tus explicaciones si pudieras poner subtítulos seria ya demasiado 🙏
So refreshing for us Aussies to see AU brands that are easy to find. Thank you for advice!!
Very interesting, thanks for sharing. Love your art xx
Beautiful works.

Just love how down to earth you are 😍 thankyou for sharing your knowledge ❤️
Enjoyed this, Clair. I like your informal approach and your details. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks!
I just found your channel today and I LOVE YOUR WORK! Would you consider doing a video on your favorite brushes and tools?!
Very helpful Clair - I've been thinking about trying this paint because I've heard it's a little more matte
I just found this. It answers my question about Matisse heavy body vs flow. Thank you. I defs think Matisse should sponsor you!
Love your work so much! Awesome to see these videos 😊🌈
Thank you! 🤗
Much love 💕

The Australian Sienna is definitely a little more on the orange side than the quin nickel azo but they are very very similar

Hey Matisse! Why aren't you sponsoring this fabulous artist? (Hopefully they got the message and are doing so by now!) We love Claire's channel!
