    • @Okkara-q3b

@@etemoweiaguamah5940 Not exactly. The KSSO (Komandovanie sil spetsial'nykh operatsiy), or Special Operations Forces Command, is a strategic-level special forces unit under the Russian Armed Forces. It was established in 2012 and is responsible for carrying out complex special operations and clandestine missions.
On the other hand, the Wagner Group is a private military company founded in 2014 by Yevgeny Prigozhin. While Wagner Group has been involved in various military operations, including in Ukraine and Syria, it is not officially part of the Russian Armed Forces.
So, while both are involved in special operations, they are distinct entities with different structures and affiliations.

I like how some channels say that the entire GRU, FSB, KSSO and SVR special forces have all been destroyed then months later videos of their units doing sabotage actions, behind enemy lines attacks and drone strikes become common. In truth while diminished in numbers due to the war it would be foolish to say that the Spetsnaz have been destroyed. And I've just watched a Hungarian military officer and UA-cam milblogger Mark Takacs explain how Russians conduct offensive actions and the whole 'meat wave' banzai attacks is just no more than propaganda than facts but some people aren't ready for that conversation.

    • @siboniso4420

Totally agree, the propganda is insane. WW2 had meat wave tactics technically. Russia are fighting a modern war that obliterates everything in front of them to prevent insurgencies. America failed in doing that in Afghanistan and Iraq. The battle of Fallujah, was almost lost without support of the local elders, people forget that.

Spetsnaz GRU are not anything like DIA or CIA, spetsnaz GRU are just Ground Forces spetsnaz under the command of the GRU (during war time), the Russian equivalent of SOCOM.
Alpha Group is the premier law enforcement unit tasked with counterterrorism; it is in no way a military unit.
Vympel is a law enforcement, counter terrorism unit tasked with defending top government facilities including headquarters and nuclear facilities.
45th Guards are the Russian equivalent of the 75th Ranger Regiment and RRC.
Naval Spetsnaz don't have anything to do with protecting ships or whatever, their main task is reconnaissance and raids.
The KSO is not a unit, the KSO is a command that would be the Russian counterpart of JSOC, in this command there's many different units specialized in many other things. This command adopted units from other branches, because yes, the KSO is a command entirely apart from the Ground Forces spetsnaz, and they also recruit from other units.
Overall good video but lacks some information and fact check.
Video missed the National Guard, Airborne Forces and the Federal Protective Service Tier One units, respectively, as well as the rest of the FSB Tier One units.

    • @SendNukesNotNudes
      @SendNukesNotNudes Місяць тому

Video also missed a lot of SpN units. But, there are too many of them, to be honest. Like, some SpN units are SAR, some are more about combat engineering and recon tasks. For example, ФСВНГ, also known as Rosgvardia(Russian national guard) has their own SpN units. Some of them are working as law enforcement units, and some are literal combat SAR, working with FSB's border security.

3:53 That's the rescue of a korean turist bus kidnapped by a man trying to flee from Russia. Right in front of the Kremlin. 1995. In this operation two legendary names of Directorate A commanded the whole show. While a negotiator handled a bagful of money to the terrorist by the driver's window, Colonel Yuri Torshin and his team aproached from behind by foot, forced the door open and broke the windows of the right side, placing metal platforms used to climb inside. All while officers fired blanks from AKs at the air. At the same time a truck drove and stopped by the rightside, where a team commanded by Vitaly Demidkin entered the bus by the windows. The terrorist was killed before the bombs went off and no hostages were lost. Both commanders worked side by side later in Nord Ost and Beslan.
A fun fact: For the rescue of the tourists, they had to buy a bus identical to the one hijacked, because they couldn't find one identical where the offciers could train and study its structure. Their greatest concearn was the door that swings differently of the model common in Russia at the time.

I have one story about Alpha group. You won't buy this, but I'll tell it anyways.
So, my hometown is somewhat 70km from Moscow, and there's a quite popular shooting range called "Лисья нора" - "Foxhole" nearby. I've used to go there from time to time before I went to college. When I was just below 18 and fresh out of school, I went there to shoot Grach that I was training on at the moment: after I shot the first few mags and sat nearby to refill them, a man who was sharing the range with me sat down there to rest, and we talked for a while. He was well above 60, maybe 70, but handled SVD as if it was a feather - while I used a pistol with red dot on 25m, he shot his rifle *with iron sights* on 100. I asked him about that, and almost crapped my pants when he told me that he used to be an Alpha operative! He was one of the people that participated in Sukhumi operation in 1990, and the most mindblowing thing is that he wasnt the sniper in spite of his skills. I noticed that he didn't even wear headphones - this poor old man definetly was deaf to some extent... Anyways, we traded weapons for a mag, complained to each other a little bit about how ammo was getting more and more expensive, and then he left with his wife.
I still have one of the casings from his rifle. Idk if he was telling the truth, as I don't know his full name, but I feel lucky that I got to meet this old man with SVD. Definetly one of the core memories from the teen years.

Russian SOBR (SWAT) - almost all "krap" (blood) berets, these are tough guys with police special tactics (preferably to take the enemy alive) specialize in fighting especially dangerous gangster criminal groups, drug cartels and terrorists (these they eliminate, of course), as well as fighting serial killers, maniacs and mafia "especially VIP-criminals". They belong to and are subordinate to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. An interesting fact is that most of the SOBR units fought in the Second Chechen Campaign, like airborne special forces and attack assault-troops, they are often involved in law enforcement (police spetcnaz and anti-terror) and army operations (for example in controlled territories). All SOBR fighters have completed military service in VDV/airborne units, Marines or Rapid Reaction Motorized Infantry units. These are very efficient police units. In general, the entire Russian Spetcnaz have a single combat brotherhood.

His whole first part about GRU spetsnaz actually didn't show any GRU spetsnaz at all. Those videos are showing VDv units. GRU spetsnaz are way more secretive and they way they trained and operates are by imbedding. Inside other armed forces units. What footage he's showing are normal Vdv Airborne soldiers doing normal Vdv stuff. Those guys are well trained too you know. And the "Ranger regiment" equivalent of Russia are their airborne units. Specifically the Reconaissance regiments of the Vdv divisions. GRU units are more of attachments and imbedding. You know 100+ in the Sparta battalion, 100+ in Akhmat and so on. 100+ in Wagner during battle of Bakhmut and so on. In training wise, GRU spetsnaz will have about the same training as a Vdv soldier, just way more secret and no "commercials" allowed of coz. Commercials are for Vdv or Dpr Special Units and the like.

During the Beslan school siege, Alpha and Vympel special forces operators played a central role in rescuing hostages under fire. In the chaos triggered by explosions and a live firefight, these highly trained professionals prioritized saving children over their own safety. The haunting images and eyewitness accounts of operators cradling children, stripping off their gear to shield little ones from bullets, and racing back into danger to find survivors have become emblematic of both the tragedy and the heroism that defined Beslan.
While the broader narrative of Beslan involves many layers of controversy and tragedy, the selfless acts of carrying children out under gunfire highlight the extraordinary courage shown by at least some of the rescuers in those terrifying final hours.

First up, GRu Spetsnaz. Showing VDV cadets in Ryazan academy possibly. Not GRU Spetsnaz at all. All footage of your "GRU spetsnaz" are footage of Russian airborne forces. GRu spetsnaz normally are more secretive, hardly has any video of em at all. Even in training. One of the few videos on UA-cam I can find of GRU spetsnaz units are videos shot during the battle of Kadarsky Zone and Groznyy. Way back in 1999-2000. The way Gru spetsnaz are operating is by imbedding. Like 100 or so may be grouped up with Somali Battalion and they would just be Somali soldiers. GRu spetsnaz units doesn't operates as full battalions and regiments like some Battlefield game or something. Alfa Group and Mvd Spetsnaz and Odon those are more open. They are more common. Some of Odon soldiers are conscripts, serving their one year service. Gru Spetsnaz seems very hard to find them. In war, their imbedding goes to the roof. Their men may be part of Akhmat Forces, Somali battalion, Sparta battalion, Vdv units, most obviously, trainers in Donetsk city, tats possible. In the two years of SVO, Gru spetsnaz seems totally invisible. 100 over here and there, that's more likely.

You're wrong. Alpha Group is not an American SWAT. In Russia, there is a direct analogue of the police special forces, called the SOBR (special rapid response unit). There are such units in every region and they report to the regional Chief of Police. They are engaged in the detention of particularly dangerous criminals, cleaning up drug dens, underground casinos and brothels, and participate in the capture and destruction of terrorists. And the Alpha Group reports directly to the head of the FSB and the President of Russia. Their main task is to counteract the mass hostage-taking as it was in Beslan or at the Nord-Ost production and the destruction of terrorist cells inside Russia. They are the elite inside the special Forces, one of the best. To get there, you must first go through several years of impeccable service in other special units (for example, the SOBR).

Well done & respect to you for being intelligent enough to say it like it is. Instead of the usual complete BS told by our Western media & politicians. The Russia military as a whole is one powerful beast.

Since it's the most secretive unit, not everyone even knows about it's existence, so it's no surprise we don't see it here.

This man used some odd hype language. Not to say these units aren’t badass, but they’re all very specialized. Hence special operations. By very definition they can’t ALL be the “Swiss Army Knife” of whatever.
