On the Soundcraft Si consoles, inputs, channels, and faders are separate modules that can be independently linked together. Inputs are the physical XLR jacks on the back of the console or front of a stage box. Channels are internal preamps that process inputs. Faders are attenuators that control output levels of channels or input levels of mix buses. When you press Fader Setup, any selected fader on any layer A-D can be assigned to any channel or mix bus. If you assign more than one fader to a channel, they will all mirror each other. For example, you can assign the same channel to any fader on both layer A and layer B. When you press Inputs & VCA, you can assign a physical input to the internal channel assigned to the selected fader on that particular layer A-D. By default, console input 1 is assigned to preamp channel 1, which is assigned to fader 1 on layer A, and so on for the rest of the inputs, channels, and faders. If you attach a stage box, you get an additional set of 16 or 32 inputs, each of which can be assigned to any of the 64 internal preamp channels. These 64 input channels can each be assigned to any of the faders on layers A-D. The reason channels are independently assigned to both inputs and faders is because all Si consoles have 64 preamp channels, regardless of how many inputs and faders are available on a particular console. In addition, faders are not only assignable to preamp channels, they may be assigned to any of the sub-mixes, FX buses, or VCA's as well.
Finally, I have no idea to operate this thing. You really helped me a lot, thanks
Thanks! Was exactly what I was hoping to find when trying to figure out our Si2+ board!
Question 🙋♂️ how can you assign a whole mix to correspond to an output on the mini stage box?
This is excellent! Helped me out a lot! Can you do one on Output Assignments?
Hello Brooke. Thanks for the video. Could you give me an ideas how to make a copy of the left right mix and send it to a webcast ?
How can i patch my drum mics channels mix to one of the mini stagebox outputs?
